Chapter 375 Apology

Realizing this clearly, Lillian felt extremely sorrowful.

She pinched her fingertips to force herself not to fall into his false warmth again, looking at him and saying, "I don't know which of your words to believe anymore. Daisy said you allowed the paternity test."

Seeing that she was willing to communicate with him, Jackson immediately relaxed and stroked her slightly messy long hair, saying, "Whether you believe it or not, I didn't know about today's incident in advance. As soon as I heard the news, I rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, I was still late."

Lillian's eyes flickered slightly, but her face remained cold. She said with a slight tremor in her voice, "But regardless of whether it has anything to do with you, Taylor was hurt for no reason. You blame me for insisting on dancing without considering Taylor's safety, but I've always taken good care of her! It's you, her irresponsible father, who doesn't deserve to be Taylor's dad."

Lillian felt painful twice.

Once, when she heard about him and Star collapsing on the road, thinking she would lose Taylor.

The other time was today, probably needing to rest for a few days.

Jackson held Lillian, accepting all her accusations and complaints without a word.

He kissed Lillian's brows, nose, and cheeks, whispering, "Honey, I'm sorry. It is my fault for not taking good care of you and Taylor. As for today's incident, my mother wouldn't do this for no reason. There must be something behind it. I will thoroughly investigate and give you and Taylor an explanation. I am Taylor's dad. Like you, I won't allow anyone to hurt our child, nor will I let anyone who hurts you and Taylor go unpunished. Trust me, okay?"

His hand brushed Lillian's cheek, his voice deep.

Lillian smelled a hint of blood and looked down, finding his palm injured.

She thought, 'His hand was fine when he arrived at the hospital. What happened?'

Her eyelashes fluttered, but she ultimately showed no concern, only nodding. "Then you investigate first. After you're done, take me back to Shirley's place."

"Okay, I'll handle it first. Take care of yourself. I won't force you to go anywhere. Now, be good and don't argue with me. Your health is the most important, understand?" Jackson said softly.

Lillian nodded, having her suspicions in her mind.

Last time, Wendy was forcibly taken to the operating table by Lyra for an amniocentesis.

Yesterday, Lillian had a dispute with Wendy at the restaurant, and today, Lillian was also forced onto the operating table for an examination.

Lillian felt it was too coincidental, like Wendy's doing.

She decided to trust Jackson once more and see how he would punish Wendy this time.

"Are you tired? Sleep." When Jackson saw her agree, his stern expression softened.

He pressed her head back into his arms, adjusted his posture to make her more comfortable, and spoke gently.

Lillian was indeed exhausted and had no energy left to argue with Jackson.

She leaned against him and closed her eyes.

Jackson held her all the way, never letting go, and instructed Aiden to drive more smoothly.

When they arrived at the Peace Mansion, he covered Lillian with a blanket and carried her to the bedroom, gently placing her on the bed.

Jackson leaned over to tidy Lillian's scattered hair and planted a light kiss on her forehead, adjusting the bedside lamp.

When he got up and left the bedroom, Harry was already waiting in the living room.

Seeing Jackson come down, Harry stepped forward to report. "It was Tina who told Mrs. Daisy Frane. She mentioned that you and Mrs. Frane always took contraceptive measures, which made Mrs. Daisy Frane suspicious."

"And who is behind Tina?" Jackson asked coldly.

Tina had no conflict of interest with Lillian, so there was no need for her to do such a thing.

Clearly, someone was stirring up trouble.

Harry replied, "Tina wouldn't say, only admitting that Mrs. Daisy Frane had her keep an eye on you and Mrs. Frane, reporting anything that happened. But I found out that Tina received a call from an unknown number this morning. The call record was deleted, but after data recovery, we tracked the call to the Sivan Mansion."

Jackson's expression didn't change at all. Clearly, he was not surprised by this answer.

He remembered that when he was sick with a fever, Wendy appeared in the Peace Mansion's bedroom late at night.

Wendy said the door was open when she arrived, which seemed to be Tina's doing.

It wasn't the first time Tina had betrayed Jackson.

His eyes turned sharp as he strode out with Harry.
