Chapter 32 Fulfilling Your Family of Three
Jackson's icy gaze swept over the room, and Mike coughed to keep his cool.
" Mr. Frane, who did you tick off to get pranked like this? Bold move," Mike said.
Everyone finally caught on to what was happening.
Luckily, it was just a prank; otherwise, they'd all be in deep trouble.
"This is insane! We need to find out who's behind this."
The others chimed in, while Jackson calmly silenced his still-ringing phone, and the meeting continued.
After the meeting, back in the office, Mike couldn't hold it in and collapsed on the sofa, clutching his stomach. "Jackson, this has to be Lillian's doing, right? Haha, it's been years, and she's still as mischievous as ever."
Jackson couldn't remember how he had offended Lillian back in high school, but one night, she secretly gave him a full set of nail extensions with several layers of glue that couldn't be removed.
The next day, Jackson had an inter-school basketball game, sporting shiny nail extensions while shooting hoops.
The memory of that scene still made Mike laugh until his stomach hurt. In this world, there was only one person daring enough to prank Jackson like that, and that was Lillian.
With a stern face, Jackson said, "There are two details in the project proposal that need to be revised."
Mike quickly adjusted his expression. "Alright, I'll handle it. By the way, I haven't seen Lillian in two or three years. When are we inviting her out for a get-together? You can't keep hiding her away, Mr. Frane. Don't be too possessive."
Rubbing his forehead, Jackson was about to ask Mike to leave when the office door swung open, and Terry entered with a package.
"Mr. Frane, we just received a local delivery from Mrs. Frane."
Jackson frowned, his gaze fixed on the package.
Mike, a bit excited, remarked, "What's this, Jackson? You and Lillian are quite romantic, exchanging love letters under the same roof?"
Jackson reached for the package, his tone serious. "Are you free?"
Mike shrugged, realizing Jackson's mood wasn't great, and left the office. As he exited, he casually put his arm around Terry's shoulder. "What's the deal with Jackson and Lillian?"
Terry probably guessed the contents of the package sent by Lillian but didn't dare to speak, so he awkwardly chuckled and hurried away.
Inside the office, Jackson opened the package, and the first thing that fell out was a wedding ring.
A $30 million wedding ring, once cherished by Lillian, now carelessly thrown into the package along with the divorce agreement. Jackson clenched the ring, a twitch in the corner of his eye.
Dream Dance Training Institution
Lillian had taught classes all morning, stayed through lunch, and was now in the dance studio choreographing her new piece.
In the afternoon, just as she was about to head to class, the manager of Dream Dance Training Institution stopped her, informing her that the institution had received a notice to no longer employ part-time teachers, resulting in Lillian's dismissal. Despite her pleas, the manager remained firm. Coming out of the training institution, Lillian angrily called Jackson.
She had been working part-time there for a year; everything was fine in the morning, but she was suddenly let go in the afternoon without any reason. How could this be possible? Lillian never expected that a dispute with Wendy would lead Jackson to punish her like this.
The phone kept ringing. Just when Lillian thought Jackson wouldn't answer, he did.
Seemingly aware of why Lillian was calling, he remained silent. Lillian's breath grew heavier, and she almost trembled with anger. "Jackson, just because I slapped Wendy, you had Dream Dance Training Institution fire me?"
On the other end of the line, Jackson's voice remained low and steady. "Wendy's pregnancy is crucial, and I can't afford any mishaps. I admit I acted impulsively today, blaming you without understanding the situation, but..."
Lillian froze as he mentioned the importance of Wendy's child. It was ridiculous. Jackson didn't not want a child; he just didn't want to have a child with her.
Before hearing this, Lillian had refused to believe that Jackson would cheat on her and be so cruel. But now, the truth was right in front of her.
"Jackson, how could you be such a jerk!"
Jackson froze, then his voice turned cold. "Lillian, rein it in. Have your fun and then come home. I've always said that being a dance teacher isn't suitable for you!"
Lillian gave a bitter smile. "Come home? Do I even have a home?"
"Fine! Maybe I've been too lenient with you, allowing you to be so audacious!"
Hearing the anger in Jackson's voice, Lillian felt exhausted. "Too lenient? Wendy is pregnant now. Where is my place in all of this? Let's get a divorce, and you can be with her, fulfilling your family of three. Let everything go back to normal, and I won't bother you anymore. Isn't that better?"
