Chapter 571
Lillian saw the bodyguard following her from a distance already walking over, and she felt reassured once again.
She bent slightly and smiled at the old lady, asking, "Ma'am, is there something you need help with?"
The old lady shook her head and directly took Lillian's hand, saying, "Come with me."
Her hand was warm and soft, much like Lyra's.
It was a delicate hand, and as Lillian observed closely, she noticed that even the old lady's demeanor was similar to Lyra's.
She exuded a calm and peaceful aura that came with age, making her seem nothing like a bad person.
Lillian gestured to the approaching bodyguard to stop.
The old lady didn't drag Lillian far but instead led her to the window of the dessert shop. She pointed to a dessert in the glass cabinet and smiled at Lillian. "I'm hungry. I want to eat that. Can you buy it for me?"
The old lady's eyes were filled with longing, like a child asking for candy.
Lillian noticed that the old lady seemed a bit confused and guessed she might have gotten separated from her family.
Lillian's smile grew even gentler, and she nodded, saying, "Of course, but if I buy this for you, you have to promise me one thing."
The old lady immediately nodded, as if afraid that if she was a second late, Lillian would change her mind and the dessert would be gone.
Lillian smiled, took the old lady into the dessert shop, and bought her the strawberry cake.
They sat down together, and Lillian pushed the dessert over, smiling. "Can you tell me your family's phone number?"
The old lady looked at the dessert but suddenly stood up. "Wait for me."
Her hair was gray, but she moved quickly and went straight to the cashier.
In no time, she returned with a small spoon in her hand. She handed the spoon to Lillian and, smiling, pushed the dessert to the middle of the table.
"Diana, isn't this your favorite strawberry cake? You have to share it with me. Come on, let's enjoy it."
Lillian was slightly stunned. 'Who is Diana?' she wondered.
She must have mistaken Lillian for her family. Lillian, feeling helpless, shared the dessert with the old lady under her urging.
She also carefully examined the old lady. Usually, such elderly people would have contact information on them.
But she found nothing on the old lady.
Worried that the old lady's family was already looking for her, Lillian coaxed her into taking a photo.
She took her phone and stepped out of the dessert shop, waving to the bodyguard Luke and instructing him, "Take this photo to the TV station and ask them to help broadcast and find her."
Luke took the phone and left. When Lillian turned around, she unexpectedly saw a tall, familiar figure.
It was Ambrose, walking quickly towards her, the hem of his trench coat billowing.
Lillian felt a bit nervous as she looked at him, inevitably recalling the things he said about liking her back in Country N.
Clearly, Seren and Ambrose had a purely professional relationship. There was no need for Ambrose to personally pick her up from the airport when she returned to the country.
But Ambrose still showed up here, making Lillian wonder if he came just to see her.
She felt she should be more decisive in cutting off Ambrose's hopes.
As Ambrose closed the distance between them, her nervousness grew.
Before Ambrose could speak, she took a step back and pointed to the bodyguard not far away, smiling. "Mr. Kelly, are you worried about me being pregnant and having difficulties? I forgot to mention that Jackson has left bodyguards with me. Back in Country N, your care and help were lifesaving for both Taylor and me. When you have time, I'd like to arrange a dinner with Jackson to formally thank you."
Ambrose looked slightly stunned.
At this moment, the door of the dessert shop was pushed open by the old lady. She happily came to Ambrose's side, holding up the dessert and saying, "Ambrose, look! Someone bought me a strawberry cake. It's so delicious!"
Ambrose looked at the old lady, smiling as he took out a napkin to wipe the cream from her mouth, then turned to Lillian and said with a smile, "This is my grandmother, Mrs. Flora Kelly. I came to pick her up."
Lillian remained silent.
