Chapter 256 Irreconcilable Conflict

Susan also began to persuade him. Jackson looked at Susan. Even though Susan couldn't see, he still nodded and said gently, "Alright."

Jackson turned and placed Wendy on the mobile bed, signaling the nurse to come forward and push her.

Wendy grabbed Jackson's arm, and Jackson looked down at her and said, "It's okay. The doctor will take care of you and the baby."

Wendy looked at Jackson as if she understood something and nodded, saying, "I trust you, Jackson. I'll listen to you."

She obediently lay on the mobile bed, and the doctor and the nurse came forward to push her away.

As they passed by Lillian, Wendy slightly turned her head to look at her.

Meeting Lillian's extremely surprised expression, she faintly curled her lips. Her eyes were full of provocation and mockery.

Lillian clenched her fingertips and looked away. Indeed, it wouldn't be hard for Jackson to forge a paternity test result. Jackson was truly determined to be the father of Wendy's child. How could Wendy not be proud?

"Susan, look, Jackson still listens to you more!" Daisy said to Susan beside her.

Susan laughed and said, "Are you jealous of me? You're his real mom, and I'm just his godmother. No matter how old children get, they always have to be a bit rebellious in front of their parents..."

Her health had always been poor, and she started coughing violently before she could finish her sentence.

Martin quickly said to Dominic, "Today, you and Susan have also had a hard time. Susan's health isn't good."

He instructed Jackson, "Take Susan back to her room first."

Dominic quickly waved his hand and said to Jackson, "No need to take us, Jackson. You should take Lyra back first. Mrs. Lyra Frane, Susan and I will visit you at home next time." He then apologized to Lyra.

It was only then that Lyra noticed Susan wearing a hospital gown under her thick coat. She was clearly also hospitalized.

Lyra had caused such a commotion and troubled so many people, so she felt guilty and quickly said, "Alright, let's not worry about formalities now. Hurry and take Susan back."

As the Prices left, Daisy stepped forward to support Lyra and said, "Mom, we don't know when Wendy will be out, and the paternity test results won't come out quickly. Let me take you back."

Lyra, however, brushed off her hand and tightly held Lillian's hand, waving dismissively. "You all leave, too. You just make me angry! Lillian can stay with me."

Daisy's expression stiffened slightly. She thought to herself that Lillian was no longer Lyra's granddaughter-in-law after divorcing Jackson, but Lyra still acted this way, not knowing who was close and who was distant.

Daisy looked at Lillian without showing any emotion and said lightly, "Then Lillian, take good care of Grandma Lyra!"

Lillian just nodded slightly at her. She knew she was a thorn in Daisy's side, and she understood why Daisy disliked her so much.

Daisy's family had long since declined. Her relationship with Martin was mediocre, and she had no career.

She maintained her current status in the social circle solely because of her capable son, Jackson.

However, Jackson had not been raised by her and was not close to her, nor did he support her family.

In the Frane family, Daisy had spent a lifetime trying to please Lyra, but Lyra always despised her. Despite Lillian having a less prestigious family background and status than Daisy, Lyra genuinely loved her.

As a daughter-in-law, Daisy could never be as favored as a granddaughter-in-law and even her son used to protect Lillian. Naturally, she felt uncomfortable. The better Lyra and Jackson treated Lillian, the more she disliked her.

Over the years, it had become an irreconcilable conflict.

Fortunately, it was all coming to an end. With the divorce, Lillian no longer had to face such a painful relationship.

"Grandma, let's go. I'll take you back," Lillian said as she supported Lyra. The two walked towards the elevator, but footsteps sounded behind them.

Lillian instinctively turned to look and met Jackson's gaze.

She was surprised. Wendy was still in the operating room, so why wasn't he waiting outside and instead following them?
