Chapter 330 Discharged
Jackson closed his eyes, suppressing his turbulent emotions. He wanted to pull her over and continue scolding her, but the neon lights swept across Lillian's face, revealing her exceptionally pale complexion and deep fatigue.
Thinking about her being pregnant with Taylor and just having been frightened, Jackson raised his hand to pinch the bridge of his nose and let her rest.
The next day, Lillian woke up in the large bed of the master bedroom at the Peace Mansion.
She looked bewildered. Her last memory was from the car last night.
She looked down and saw that her clothes had been changed, fresh and clean, indicating someone had helped her clean up.
Her mouth felt strange, her lips a bit sore, and there was a faint taste of disinfectant, as if someone had over-cleaned and chafed her skin.
"Mrs. Frane, you're finally awake. I've checked on you twice already. Breakfast is ready. Mrs. Frane, please eat so you can bring some to Mr. Frane."
Tina pushed open the door.
"How did I get back last night?" Lillian asked.
"Mrs. Frane, don't you remember? Mr. Frane carried you back. He took care of you for a long time before returning to the hospital, not letting me help at all. He did everything himself. I don't know if his wound tore open, but his face was pale when he left," Tina replied.
Hearing Tina say this, Lillian frowned and felt a bit guilty and worried.
She thought that no matter what, she should be more honest and trusting with Jackson.
She immediately got up and hurriedly took breakfast to the hospital.
Lillian hesitated at the door of the hospital room, adjusting her emotions.
The irritation from last night was suppressed, and she felt much calmer.
She wanted to have a good talk with Jackson to clarify some things; otherwise, she would always feel uneasy.
However, when she pushed the door open, she saw Jackson standing by the bed, already dressed in a suit and tying his tie, looking like he was ready to be discharged.
Jackson turned around, took the breakfast box from her hand, and placed it aside, asking, "Where's Tina? Why didn't you let her come with you?"
Lillian replied, "I can handle this myself. After Tina brought me here, she had to go back. Jackson, are you getting discharged? Your wound yesterday..."
Before Lillian could finish, Terry walked into the room and said, "Mr. Frane, everything is ready."
Lillian frowned and asked, "What's so urgent?"
"There's a situation with the Price Group that's getting out of control. We have a joint press conference with Star Group and the Price Group this morning, and I need to attend in person," Jackson replied.
Hearing it was about the Price Group, Lillian knew Jackson had no extra time for her.
She just pressed her lips and nodded. "Okay."
"What's wrong? Why are you in such a bad mood? Still angry about last night?" Jackson asked, clearly noticing that Lillian was down today. He frowned, feeling a headache.
Lillian had lied about feeling unwell, went to a bar to fool around with some boys, and almost got into trouble. He just scolded her a bit, and she got angry.
Jackson bent down slightly, pinched Lillian's soft cheek, and said, "I just spoil you too much!"
His tone was indulgent, but Lillian, knowing she had been deceived, couldn't tell how much of his indulgence was real and how much was fake or if it was all just an act.
She lowered her head, picked up the breakfast box, and quietly avoided Jackson's touch, saying, "What about breakfast? Aren't you going to eat?"
"I'm running out of time. Be a good girl, help me with my tie." Jackson handed the tie to Lillian, and she took it.
He bent down to cooperate, and Lillian hesitated before taking the tie.
Jackson smiled, his gaze fixed at Lillian's face.
Lillian bent down to straighten his collar before starting to tie the tie.
The sunlight was beautiful today. The light in winter morning was not glaring or scorching but just warm enough to feel comforting.
Lillian thought about the last time she tied his tie, which was in the car outside State Court.
At that time, she didn't expect to have such a scene again.
She, as Jackson's wife, tied Jackson's tie in the morning and sent him off.
However, Jackson never loved her. His gentleness might all have other purposes.
Lillian felt bitter in her heart, but her waist was suddenly embraced by Jackson.
