Chapter 826

Jackson turned his phone, and the light from the screen illuminated Lillian from above.

Jackson's eyes were dark and intense as he looked at Lillian.

"Change my contact name to something respectful."

Lillian glanced up but didn't take the phone, her eyes curving into a smile.

"What name do you want?"

Jackson frowned. "Something respectful."

"Didn't you say I was being rude?"

Lillian deliberately teased him. Jackson's phone screen went dark from inactivity.

Suddenly plunged into darkness, Lillian's eyes struggled to adjust, and she couldn't see Jackson's face clearly, only a vague outline.

It felt like being watched by a predator in the night, making her inexplicably nervous.

Lillian held her breath, instinctively closing her eyes slightly, feeling as if Jackson might lean in for a kiss.

However...

The anticipated touch didn't come. Instead, her eyelids sensed light again.

Jackson's pale fingers had gently pressed the phone, lighting up the screen once more.

Lillian's eyelids fluttered, and she opened her eyes to meet Jackson's teasing gaze.

Jackson's long eyes narrowed slightly, his smile lazy and mischievous.

"Lillian, calling me 'respectful'? Is that appropriate?"

Lillian was confused and followed his gaze downward, her face instantly turning red.

She had just come out of the bathroom, unaware that Jackson was still there, wearing only her underwear.

And now, under the cold light of Jackson's phone, everything was visible.

Even the respectful term she had just used seemed to take on a strange flavor.

Especially since she had just tilted her head back and closed her eyes.

Embarrassed and annoyed, Lillian reached out to grab her phone.

"You're so annoying, Jackson!"

But her hand missed the phone, and Jackson quickly turned off the screen, grabbing her wrist.

With a firm pull, Lillian found herself pressed against Jackson.

He was still wearing the same shirt from earlier, not having changed.

The silk shirt was damp from Logan's antics and warmed by Jackson's high body temperature, creating a heated atmosphere between them.

In the darkness, Lillian could hear their breaths mingling, creating an endless sense of intimacy.

Jackson's warm hand gently caressed her ear, his voice still light and teasing.

"Little Lillian, have you grown up and stopped listening to me? Can't even change a contact name..."

Lillian's heart raced in the tense atmosphere.

Especially with little Logan sleeping soundly on the nearby bed, Lillian feared Jackson might lose control.

She interrupted Jackson, surrendering.

"I'll change it! I'll change it right now, to whatever you want!"

Lillian admitted she couldn't handle Jackson's teasing.

Jackson chuckled softly, leaning down to whisper in her ear.

"Then I need to think about what name would be good. What do you think?"

Lillian had had enough. She grabbed the phone from Jackson's hand, quickly changing his contact name.

Jackson looked down at the screen, his face full of helplessness.

"Jealous King?"

Lillian pushed him playfully, "That's what you are! Now let go, Max just called, and I need to check if everything's okay."

"No way, change it again! Until I'm satisfied."

Lillian sighed, thinking for a second before adding two little hearts after "Jealous King," and setting it as a pinned chat. Then she changed Ambrose's contact name from "Brother" to "Ambrose." Jackson finally seemed satisfied, smiling as he ruffled her hair.

He let go, saying, "Go make your call."

Jackson pulled out a bathrobe from somewhere and draped it over Lillian.

Finally, her troublesome boyfriend was satisfied.

Lillian put on the bathrobe and took her phone out to the terrace.

She first sent Ambrose a message on Facebook, letting him know she wouldn't be coming home tonight, then called Max.

"Max, why are you calling so late? Haven't you gone to bed yet?"

Max answered quickly, and Lillian asked with concern.

"I'm fine, but where are you, Lillian? Mr. Kelly called, looking for you, saying he couldn't reach you. I was worried."

"I'm fine, it's late, of course I'm at the Peace Mansion."

Max still seemed worried.

"Can you video call me?"

For some reason, even though Lillian said everything was fine and her relationship with Jackson was better than ever, Max felt uneasy.

Lillian sighed in relief, thinking she was indeed at the Peace Mansion.

She confidently sent Max a video call. When he saw Lillian wrapped in a bathrobe, standing on the terrace, he smiled in relief.

He was about to say something when Jackson's tall figure appeared in the background.

Jackson approached, "Lillian, the bath is ready. Don't talk too long."

His voice was low, filled with tender warmth that permeated the night.

Max immediately said, "I must be interrupting. I'll hang up."

"No, I'll visit you tomorrow."

Lillian nodded, her ears turning slightly red.

Jackson's unexpected appearance and his intimate words had led Max to misunderstand.

Lillian felt a bit awkward, but Max hesitated before speaking again.

"Lillian, um..."

"Max, what's wrong?"

Lillian was puzzled. Max hesitated before advising.

"You and Mr. Frane seem to have a good relationship now, and he cares for you more and more. You should keep some distance from other male friends to avoid misunderstandings, okay?"

Lillian was stunned, realizing Max was referring to Ambrose.

Ambrose had called Max when he couldn't reach her.

Late at night, it was easy for Max to misunderstand.

Especially since Max didn't know the true nature of Lillian and Ambrose's relationship.

"Max, I understand."

Lillian felt like Max's words implied she was cheating.

She was embarrassed.

"Max, Ambrose, and I are just regular friends."

"Regular friends? Why would he be looking for you in the middle of the night, worried enough to call around? He called me, and I won't spread it, but if it reached Mr. Frane, what would he think?"
