Chapter 206 Jackson's Procrastination

Lillian gritted her teeth and said, "I've activated online banking. I'll transfer the money to you right now."

She took out her phone and unlocked it when she heard Jackson's chilly voice asked, "Are you sure you can transfer five million in one go?"

Lillian paused. There was a daily limit for transfers, and she needed to apply for approval from the bank in advance if she wanted to transfer five million at once, but she wasn't prepared for it.

Lillian fumed, "You can have Aiden go to the bank now. I'll get a replacement card immediately."

Jackson refused coldly, "I don't have time to wait for you."

Lillian realized that Jackson was simply procrastinating, with no intention of accepting the five million or going through with the divorce.

She suddenly felt like a fool for the busy month she had, feeling completely played by him.

Her eyes reddened as she asked, "Jackson, are you fooling me? You never intended to let me go, did you? You agreed to it, and you even signed the divorce agreement. How could you be so shameless? How could you do this?"

She had just cried, so her eyes were now red and swollen, with bloodshot.

Jackson, meeting her resentful and despairing gaze, felt like his heart ached, making it hard to breathe.

He looked away, avoiding her eyes, and only spoke after adjusting his tie, "Is it because of Barry that you are so eager to get a divorce?"

Lillian was annoyed and retorted, "Our affairs have nothing to do with Barry! Do you think everyone is shamelessly trying to interfere like Wendy?"

Seeing her defend Barry, Jackson thought of the scene where she had cried behind Barry's coat earlier, the veins on his forehead bulging.

Suddenly, Jackson pulled Lillian into his arms by her waist.

He looked down at her and asked, "Every time his name is mentioned, you get so agitated. Isn't it because of him?"

Lillian forced a bitter smile, tears streaming down her face. "So, not only do you look down on me, but in your eyes, I'm frivolous, just like Jenny said, a despicable woman without morals."

Her sad face reflected in Jackson's eyes, his pupils contracting as if trying to lock her deep inside, imprisoning her there.

He sneered, "We have a similar attitude. In your eyes, I'm not a good person, either."

Lillian opened her mouth, speechless momentarily.

After a pause, she finally spoke, "However, you were a jerk from the start, and the undeniable evidence is in Wendy's belly. You can't deny it."

Jackson's expression turned sullen for a moment. He had said that Wendy's child wasn't his. But clearly, she didn't believe him.

Fine.

Jackson closed his eyes briefly, afraid he might hurt her if he couldn't control himself.

However, Lillian suddenly grabbed Jackson's sleeve. Her face was pale, and her lips trembled as she looked at him with pleading eyes.

"We don't even have the last bit of trust left, and being bound together is just mutual torment. Jackson, please let me go. Just like treating a sister, be kind to me one last time, okay?"

Jackson opened his eyes. His gaze flickered, shrouding in layers of mystery, making it hard to discern his emotions.

Looking at her pleading and hopeful eyes, he felt as if she would shatter into pieces in his arms if he said no.

Lillian was always very clever. She understood human nature, was observant, and always knew how to hit a nerve and make him compromise.

Jackson suddenly withdrew his hand from Lillian's waist, his voice cold. "Lillian, once we divorce and you leave the country, don't come back."

Lillian lowered her head, tears rolling down her face. She sobbed and slowly sat up from Jackson's embrace, moving to the side after a while before softly saying, "Okay."

"Go to the State Court," Jackson instructed coldly.
