Chapter 508 Divorce
Lillian couldn't take it anymore.
She never wanted to compete with Star; it was Star who messed with her marriage.
Despite relocating to escape them, the Prices remained relentless in their pursuit, determined to be rid of her permanently.
So cruel!
Harry didn't say much earlier, and she was just guessing. Did Jackson already know it was the Price family?
Her eyes widened in surprise. "You knew? Star helped me leave the country, and as soon as I landed, the Price family was after me."
Jackson's face darkened at the mention of her escape.
"How do you think I found you?"
Lillian's lips tightened, then she said sarcastically, "I'm impressed. I thought even if I told you it was the Price family, you'd still think I was just blaming them."
Jackson's heart ached, and his expression turned grim.
What did she think of him now?
Jackson's chest heaving, he couldn't hold back any longer. Grabbing Lillian's neck, he abruptly pulled her close.
The sudden closeness made Lillian's breath catch, scared by his dark demeanor.
She tried to pull away, but Jackson held her firmly.
She could only watch as he got closer. Just when she thought he might hurt her, he stopped, staring coldly into her eyes.
"If I were really like you said, I wouldn't be here. Lillian, do you even have a heart?"
His voice was thick with emotion and hoarseness.
His eyes met hers, filled with emotion and bloodshot, showing he hadn't been well either.
Lillian bit her tongue, feeling bitter.
If she were heartless, she wouldn't experience repeated hope and disappointment.
So now, no matter what he said, she wouldn't be swayed.
She gently pushed his shoulder and said, "I'll go back with you, but I have a condition."
Jackson's heart leaped with joy. He let go of Lillian, a rare look of happiness on his face.
"Okay, I agree."
He agreed eagerly without even hearing her condition.
Lillian raised an eyebrow, "Aren't you going to ask what the condition is?"
"No matter what it is, I agree."
Jackson gently brushed Lillian's nose with his fingers.
Clearly, nothing was more important to him than Lillian coming home.
But then he heard her cold voice.
"My condition is a divorce."
Jackson froze; his heart, which had just felt warm, was suddenly plunged back into cold despair.
His face showed panic and sadness.
But Lillian didn't look away; she stared at him firmly.
She had left because he wouldn't agree to a divorce.
If he had agreed, she wouldn't have gone through all this.
"It seems like the police are here. I'll check it out; you rest."
Jackson suddenly stood up and walked out.
Lillian stared at his back, her gaze falling on his injured shoulder. When his hand touched the door, she finally spoke.
"Wait, let me treat your wound."
