Chapter 137 Lillian, You Are Not Irreplaceable
Jackson's cold eyes stared at Shirley, devoid of any warmth.
Lillian was afraid of what he might do to Shirley, so she hurried forward and stood in front of Shirley.
Jackson sneered coldly and ordered in a deep voice, "Take her away!"
Immediately, several bodyguards stepped forward and dragged Shirley away.
"Shirley!" Lillian worriedly wanted to help, but Jackson's iron-like arm wrapped around her waist, preventing her.
He opened the car door and threw Lillian inside.
"Jackson! I'm the one who scolded you, don't touch Lillian!"
Shirley, feeling anxious, started to struggle with the bodyguards.
But before she could break free, Jackson's car had already sped away with Lillian inside.
Inside the car, Lillian climbed up from the back seat, fixed her hair, and surprisingly didn't feel panicked.
She knew Jackson wouldn't harm her.
"Where are we going? I want to get out of the car," she said
Jackson smiled and said, "Aren't you spreading rumors everywhere that I made you alone? Am I not a man? Find a place, let's make a video and discuss this issue properly, and let me prove my innocence."
Lillian remained silent.
She thought Jackson was just speaking casually, but she didn't expect him to instruct the driver, "Go to the nearest hotel."
Lillian said anxiously, "I didn't spread those rumors. Shirley was just upset that you snatched the job opportunity from me and gave it to Wendy. Can't I just apologize if you're really angry?"
Jackson looked at Wendy's worried face and felt even more furious.
Was she so afraid of him and her being intimate?
She was just defiant a moment ago, but as soon as they were going to a hotel, she readily admitted her mistake.
He lifted her chin with his hand. "Snatch the job opportunity? Digital Dreams Gaming belongs to me. If I want to give the opportunity to Wendy, I will. What's the problem?"
Lillian bit her lips, feeling both angry and unwilling to accept it.
If she couldn't secure this collaboration, she wouldn't be able to raise five million dollars. Thus, she patiently tried to reason with him.
"But you know my dancing skills. Wendy can't dance well at all. Mr. Frane, you are not someone who mixes personal matters with work. Otherwise, Star Group wouldn't have developed so well. You have always emphasized fairness and talent in your work."
"Are you talking about me?"
Jackson raised an eyebrow sarcastically.
Lillian wasn't lying. She had been working in the CEO's office at Star Group for a long time.
Jackson's style of work and attitude were impeccable. He had principles and boundaries and was never an arbitrary leader.
But she didn't expect that these principles would become worthless when it came to Wendy.
For Wendy, he was even willing to kick her out without hesitation.
Lillian felt like her heart was being cut with a knife, but she still looked at Jackson with pleading eyes, hoping for fairness and a change of mind.
"I can guarantee that my dancing will be worth it and will enhance the game. If you don't believe me, you can let me compete with Wendy and decide based on the final presentation," Lillian said.
"No need. I said this opportunity belongs to Wendy. Even if she can't handle it, it won't be you. Enhance the game? You're just a former dancer. Lillian, you are not irreplaceable!"
Jackson interrupted Lillian. His icy words were full of denial, disdain, and contempt toward her.
Lillian felt like a huge stone was pressing on her chest, and she didn't want to say another word to him.
"Stop the car! I want to get off!"
Lillian turned her head, and forcefully pulled the car door, even banging on the car window.
