Chapter 311 Keep a Woman There
Lillian raised an eyebrow and said, "I really don't see her as my mom. I'd rather have no mom at all than one who doesn't care if her daughter lives or dies."
When Lillian almost got beaten to death by Bob that time, she clearly saw Mary come back through the crack in the door.
She reached out to Mary for help, but Mary, terrified, covered her mouth, bent down, took off her high heels, and sneaked away.
At that moment, Lillian considered Mary lost to her.
Lillian took a step to leave, and Wendy, looking at her back, suddenly raised her voice and said, "Don't be so smug! Do you think you've won? Jackson is only keeping you around because of the baby you're carrying! He's counting on that baby to save Jeffery's life. Do you think he loves you? If I'm not mistaken, before he knew you were pregnant, he had already filed for divorce and wanted you out of Miracalia as soon as possible, right?"
Lillian knew some truths in her heart.
However, when she heard them from someone else, she was still in pain.
"Lillian, since you've divorced and left the country, don't come back." Those words Jackson had said once again echoed in Lillian's ears.
Lillian bit her tongue, the pain helping her ignore the discomfort in her heart.
She didn't want Wendy to control her emotions, so she smiled and said, "Say whatever you want. I'll prove you wrong."
She turned to leave, but Wendy suddenly caught up, grabbed Lillian's arm, and said in a vicious and triumphant tone, "Lillian, you're so naive! Alright, I lied to you and everyone. I'm not Jackson's first love! But that doesn't mean Jackson doesn't have a woman he deeply loves in his heart! I bet Jackson never told you that he has a woman hidden away at Serenity Haven Manor. He's been looking for her for sixteen years! All these years, you've just been a stand-in! Fool, you're a joke!"
Lillian's steps came to a hard stop, and her heart suddenly sank.
Seeing her freeze, Wendy smiled in satisfaction.
She thought, 'In this world, Lillian is the least deserving of happiness! She has stolen six years of my carefree childhood and enjoyed the Frane Family's wealth and glory because of Wade's affection. How dare she dream of Jackson's love? Dream on!'
Lillian turned around, her face not showing the tears Wendy had expected.
She looked at Wendy calmly with pity and questioned, "Do you think your words still have credibility? My husband has a woman hidden away? And he's been looking for her for sixteen years, using me as a stand-in? You've watched too many movies, and you're really good at making things up!"
This wasn't the result Wendy wanted, and she said anxiously, "No! This time, I'm definitely not lying! Serenity Haven Manor is very close to here. If you don't believe me, you can go see for yourself!"
Serenity Haven Manor was one of the wedding houses Lyra had chosen from the many properties of the Frane Family when Lillian and Jackson got married.
Lyra had taken Lillian to see each one, letting Lillian choose one to redecorate as their wedding house.
In the end, Lillian chose Serenity Haven Manor and the Peace Mansion because Serenity Haven Manor was close to the Frane Family's private hospital. It was convenient for her to visit Max.
The Peace Mansion was close to Star Group. Lillian decorated both houses, and she liked them both, but she ultimately chose the Peace Mansion.
Because Lillian didn't want Jackson to spend an extra ten minutes commuting to work every day.
However, Serenity Haven Manor was also considered another wedding house, though they had never lived there.
Lillian absolutely didn't believe Jackson would keep a woman there.
Even if he wanted to, he wouldn't arrange it at Serenity Haven Manor.
"No matter what you say, I won't believe it anymore." Lillian walked up to Wendy, gently smoothed Wendy's hair, and continued, "Wendy, being unable to see others happy is a serious psychological issue. I sincerely suggest you see a therapist. You should spend more time focusing on yourself. Look at your hair. It's all messy and unhealthy. It must be because you have too many bad thoughts, and the nutrients can't keep up. I truly feel for you."
Wendy was furious. She stepped back abruptly, frantically fixing her hair, and glared at Lillian, gritting her teeth. "Lillian, why does Jackson avoid talking about the baby in my belly? Because this child is closely related to the woman Jackson loves deeply! Jackson doesn't dare tell you! You don't believe me now, but you'll regret it eventually!"
After saying that, Wendy shook off Lillian and left with Rose.
