Chapter 574
Lillian gawked at Jackson, totally floored.
What the heck was he rambling about?
Taylor was chillin' in her belly, not a peep or a kick.
But Jackson, all serious, said, "Mr. Kelly probably doesn't know what a baby kick feels like, huh? Maybe you should get married and have children soon to experience it for yourself. It's kinda amazing, right, Lillian?"
Jackson dropped his gaze, then shot Lillian a look with a raised brow.
His big hand slid over to Lillian's waist.
Lillian had just made a fool of herself in front of Ambrose, causing a whole mess, and she was already dying of embarrassment.
Now Jackson was pulling the same stunt, and Lillian's face went beet red. She couldn't even look at Ambrose.
She shot Jackson a death glare, totally speechless, when a bunch of people came rushing over.
The old dude leading the pack had gray hair but looked spry, his face all worried.
Flora saw him and waved like crazy, yelling, "Oberon, get over here and see who I found!"
Oberon hustled over, grabbed Flora's hand, and his face softened up.
"Who? I can't guess, show me."
Flora had been MIA, and Oberon was clearly the most freaked out, but he didn't say a word of blame.
Seeing Flora, all his stress melted away, and he turned super gentle.
Compared to Anouk's earlier attitude, Oberon's care and gentleness towards Flora were heartwarming.
And even though Flora was all mixed up, she clung to Oberon like a lifeline.
Lillian suddenly felt a pang of envy for that kind of rock-solid relationship.
A smile crept onto her face, and feeling a bit fed up with Jackson, she shoved him away and stepped aside.
Jackson's hand felt empty, and his heart kinda sank. He wanted to get closer to Lillian, but Flora and Oberon beat him to it.
Flora beamed, "Oberon, I found Ophelia! Look, Ophelia's even got Anouk with her."
Then Flora pointed at Anouk, who looked totally lost. "Oberon, Anouk's in Ophelia's belly, so who is she?"
Anouk shook her head, exasperated, "Grandma, I'm Anouk, all grown up. How could she be my mom? Grandma, you got it all wrong."
Flora frowned, looking all anxious and confused, clutching Oberon's hand tight.
Oberon squeezed her hand back, but his eyes were glued to Lillian, momentarily stunned.
Lillian was rocking a sweet pink-orange lace blouse, comfy maternity wide-leg pants, and a cream-colored cardigan. Her long hair was loosely tied up, with a few curly strands framing her face, making her look even more gentle and serene, her features delicate and refined.
Her vibe and the sparkle in her eyes were a lot like his late daughter Ophelia.
But on closer look, she wasn't that much alike.
Still, Oberon had to admit, Lillian was way more stunning than Ophelia.
"Miss, were you the one who just took care of Flora? Can we treat you to a meal to say thanks?"
Oberon asked with a warm smile.
Before Lillian could answer, Anouk stepped up and grabbed his hand.
"Grandpa, Ms. Young clearly has stuff to do at the airport, and that's her husband right there. You and Grandma just flew in and must be wiped out. There's plenty of time, we can thank her another day."
