Chapter 1000 Competing to Make Her Something Delicious
"We're doing great," Blake said with a grin, his arm slung around Phillipe's shoulder. "If he didn't always bully me and take advantage of me, we'd be even better."
"Stop badmouthing me in front of my fiancée."
When did he ever bully him or take advantage of him?
"Do you think Abella doesn't know what kind of person you are? You think she's always thinking about your face?"
At that moment, Abella was studying Phillipe's face. It was quite handsome.
After a few days apart, this guy looked even more attractive, his features more refined than before.
"Notice anything different about me today?" Phillipe asked, his gaze fixed on Abella, ignoring everyone else.
"Your hair's shorter," Abella said with a smile. "And you're wearing the clothes I designed."
"What else?" Phillipe looked at her with a tender gaze.
"Seriously, can you two consider my feelings for a second?" Blake, who had millions of fans, felt utterly ignored and couldn't help but feel frustrated.
"Phillipe's here?"
Just then, Kimberly walked out of the main house, her face lighting up with a warm smile when she saw Phillipe.
"Come on in and sit down. Blake, why are you hanging on to Phillipe? Let go!"
She came over to Blake and whispered, "Can you give them some space? You've been clinging to Phillipe the whole way here, leaving Abella out. People might think you two are a couple."
Blake was puzzled in his head, but before he could respond, Kimberly had already invited Phillipe inside and quietly asked Abella, "Are you going to River Park tonight?"
"Yes."
Kimberly's smile grew even wider. "I'll make sure dinner is ready early then."
"Okay."
"Phillipe's here!" Kimberly announced loudly as she entered the house. The others in the living room all came over to greet him.
"It's been a while, and Phillipe looks even more handsome!" Carl, who had always liked Phillipe, put a loving hand on his shoulder. "Come in, I've been waiting for you."
"Carl's been looking forward to your visit. He asked me several times when you'd be coming, and even wanted Abella to ask you a few times, but I stopped him," Winslow said with a smile. "Now you're finally here."
"I heard from the staff that you brought a lot of Christmas gifts. You're too kind!" Kimberly said, calling for coffee and snacks. "I'll go check on the kitchen and make sure dinner is ready soon. After dinner, you're all heading to River Park."
Blake hadn't realized they were going to River Park after dinner. River Park was where Ryan and Savannah lived.
Suddenly, he felt like Abella wasn't entirely part of the Medici family anymore.
She was becoming more like a part of the Bourbon family.
He felt a pang of loss, as if he was about to lose Abella.
All the elders surrounded Phillipe, showering him with attention. Usually reserved, Phillipe was particularly charming today.
Carl, Winslow, David, Vanessa, and Caleb were all extremely pleased with him.
"Phillipe's here?"
A playful voice rang out as Elsa came in from the garden, her smile bright. "Now our family is truly complete."
Everyone laughed heartily, and Phillipe stood up to greet George and Margaret.
"Have a seat, we're all family here," George said, beaming at the handsome Phillipe. "Phillipe must be the most desired son-in-law in the world—handsome, talented, capable, and loyal."
"Uncle George, what are you saying? Are we not good enough?" Blake teased.
"You're a famous star, of course, you're popular. I misspoke. Everyone in the Medici family is exceptional, and Phillipe is part of the Medici family too. No problem with that, right? Hahaha."
Beckett checked the time. "You all sit tight. This is Abella's first Christmas back home. I have to make something special for her."
"No, Dad, let Abella have a peaceful Christmas. Your cooking..." Blake trailed off, unable to find the right words. "And Mom, you both should just relax tonight."
Christmas wouldn't be the same if they ended up in the hospital with food poisoning.
"Right, right, I'll handle it. I want to give Abella a memorable and wonderful Christmas," Winslow said, getting up.
"If Winslow's going, I have to make something special for Abella too," Vanessa said, standing up.
"I'll go, I'll make two dishes—one from you and one from me," David told Vanessa.
Abella wanted to tell everyone not to bother, but before she could, they all headed to the kitchen, determined to make something delicious for her.
Her brothers, not wanting to be outdone, followed suit.
The kitchen was soon packed.
In the end, the only ones left with nothing to do were Abella, Phillipe, and Elsa.
Sensing the atmosphere, Elsa offered, "I'll go see if they need any help."
"I'll make something for you too," Phillipe said gently.
"No need, there's already too much food."
"I'll make two dishes," Phillipe said, touching her face. "You'll want to eat them."
He didn't say what he was making.
The six large refrigerators at Long Island Manor were stocked with everything. If anything was missing, Blake would take Abella to the garden to pick it.
"Abella, do you eat carrots?" Blake asked, seeing the carrots growing well.
"Sure."
"I'll pick some more then. Let's see what everyone makes for you." Blake picked a lot of vegetables, and when he saw Abella had picked some too, he put them all in the basket and took a selfie, posting it to his Stories.
Blake: [Picking vegetables with my sister. Everyone wants to make something delicious for her. What should I make to outdo them? Waiting for suggestions.]
The photo showed him holding a large basket in one hand and taking a selfie with the other, with the lush garden and Abella picking vegetables in the background.
Within a minute, the post had thousands of likes and countless comments with suggestions.
An hour later, the dining table was filled with delicious dishes.
Abella hadn't been idle either, making a particularly beautiful dish for everyone.
"Abella, stop working and come over."
Everyone was eager to introduce their dishes to Abella and explain their meanings.
"Abella, I named this dish 'Rising Prosperity,' wishing you a future of continuous success," Carl said.
"Great!" Everyone applauded.
