Chapter 243 Uncle's Family
"Brother, you don't have to work so hard, I have money," Abella said, adding, "It's enough."
"Abella, if you don't finish using it, save it. Life is so long, there are still many places where you'll need money. It's better to be prepared," Blake said, patting her head with a smile. "I'm not working hard at all, don't worry about me!"
When Abella entered the gates of Long Island Manor, she noticed that Blake was wearing a very handsome outfit today and couldn't help but say, "Brother, you look great in those clothes."
"Really? Do you like it, Abella? Then I'll wear it for you every day!"
In the living room, Lola had just come downstairs and noticed many beautifully packaged snacks on the coffee table. She was about to open one when Blake walked in and immediately stopped her, saying, "Hey, Lola! Wait, those are for Abella."
Lola's hand holding the snacks froze.
Blake took the snacks from her and smiled. "Didn't I buy you a lot last time? You said you couldn't finish them and wanted to give some to your classmates... These ones are for Abella!"
Lola smiled awkwardly, raising the corners of her mouth. "It's just a pack of snacks, brother. Look how worried you are!"
"You know it's difficult to buy!"
It was a high-end brand exclusively for the royal family. Ordinary wealthy families didn't have access to it. Blake had to personally take care of it to buy all these different flavors!
"Abella, come, have some biscuits! They're custom-made for the royal family. I heard even the princesses love these."
Blake opened the packaging and pushed it in front of Abella, just as Mrs. Medici descended the stairs.
"Eating biscuits can cause acne. What if Abella gets pimples later?" As a woman, Mrs. Medici understood more than anyone how girls valued their appearance. Having a pimple on the face was a big deal!
"Then should Abella not eat these?" Blake presented another set of snacks to Abella as if offering a treasure.
Mrs. Medici glanced at them and casually said, "See, you don't understand your sister! Abella doesn't like this kind of flavor!"
"Is that so? Then how about this one? All young girls love this, right?" Blake took out a box of macarons with very appealing colors.
Abella smiled gently and said, "Brother, as long as it's from you, I'll like it."
Upon hearing this, Blake became extremely happy and gathered all the snacks on the coffee table and hugged them to his chest. "Then I'll bring them up for you. Take your time to eat later and let me know which flavor you like the most, and I'll buy more for you!"
"Thank you, brother."
Blake loved it when she called him "brother." Her voice was soft and pleasing to the ears. Unable to restrain himself, he said, "Little Abella, what did you just call me? The wind was too strong, I didn't hear clearly."
"Brother," Abella obediently called again.
"Abella is such a good girl! Think about it in your room when you have the time..."
"Do you have any other preferences? I can buy them for you," Abella said gratefully.
"Thank you, brother."
Lola, who was standing on the side, felt upset and uncomfortable. She made up an excuse and went upstairs.
As soon as she entered her room, Lola remembered that she had left her phone on the coffee table when she went to get snacks. She was about to go downstairs to get it when she heard Mrs. Medici's voice.
"Oh, by the way, Abella, here is your pocket money!" Mrs. Medici stuffed a card into Abella's pocket.
Abella took it out and looked at it. "Why are you giving me money again?"
She had already given her money several times before. Why was she giving more now?
"The previous amounts were small. Today, it's an unlimited card. Buy whatever you like, don't hold back!" Mrs. Medici said.
"Mom, why are you copying me?" Blake, who was sitting next to them, raised his head and exclaimed while snacking on some seeds. "You just want to compete with me! It was so hard to earn a little place in Abella's heart!"
"What's wrong? You can give Abella gifts, but I can't?" Mrs. Medici didn't allow Abella to refuse. "Quickly accept it. I didn't show it earlier because Lola was there. I didn't want her to think I'm biased."
Hearing this upstairs, Lola clenched her fists in anger. How could this be fair? It was obvious that she was incredibly biased!
"Put it away quickly, don't hesitate," Mrs. Medici blocked Abella from taking out the card, holding her hand and saying, "Your father told me you scored full marks on your exam. We must celebrate. Currently, your grandparents haven't fully recovered, your other grandparents and uncles are abroad, and we don't want to invite distant relatives. So we're planning to invite your uncle's family for a dinner at Philippe's restaurant. Also, it's an opportunity to introduce your identity."
"Uncle?" Abella exclaimed.
So, she had an uncle too?
"Your father has a younger brother and a younger sister," Mrs. Medici smiled and said, "but your aunt married abroad, they are very busy and rarely come back. After your grandparents recover, I will invite your aunt's family, let our big family gather again. For now, let's meet your uncle's family."
"Okay."
Mrs. Medici arranged, relieved that Abella agreed. "Then I'll book the private room at CCG Diner the day after tomorrow. I'll inform Philippe to reserve the biggest one for us."
"Okay." Abella chatted for a while before finally going upstairs to take a shower.
Meanwhile, Lola was consumed by jealousy. She also did well in her exams, but her mother had no intention of throwing any celebration for her.
The next day, as Abella walked out of the Long Island Manor, she brought the prepared gift to Philippe. "This is for you."
Phillipe was a bit surprised. He had another gift? They had known each other for a while, but this was the first time she had given him a gift!
Unable to contain his joy and excitement, Philippe opened the bag and found various things inside.
"I made the clothes myself," Abella said.
During this time, she had been making clothes whenever she had free time. But after finishing them, she felt that seven or eight outfits were too few.
"And here's another thing. You're always busy with work and under a lot of pressure, so just drop one of these pills into water and drink it. It's a medicine I made myself that can relieve stress and promote overall well-being." Abella took out a small bottle.
These are her birthday gifts? Philippe's voice was filled with gratitude and excitement.
"No, just everyday gifts," Abella explained. "I'll give you more on your birthday."
There are more gifts to come?
Philippe held the gifts in one hand and hugged her happily with the other, whispering tenderly in her ear, "You are the best gift God has ever given me."
Abella could hear his happiness, and she couldn't believe that he was so delighted with just these little things.
Mom was right. Philippe gave her so many gifts, and now it's her turn to reciprocate!
"You even prepared socks for me?" Philippe discovered there were many more gifts in the bag, practical items for everyday use, and his joy knew no bounds.
