Chapter 14
Abella thought her inventory could last at least half a year, so she wouldn't have to spend any extra time designing and could focus on researching medicine and other side businesses.
But she didn't expect her parents to buy all of her inventory, including some of the designs from earlier in her career.
"Ms. Medici, do you know my boss? Since you share the same name."
"No." Abella denied it without hesitation. Jack gasped her meaning—the others present still didn't know her true identity.
"You're so lucky to have such loving parents. These clothes are all works of art created by our brand's founder with great effort and dedication. They're perfect for an important lady like you."
"Abella, this casual outfit would look great on you." A set of clothes on display caught Beckett's eyes.
"QY's work is truly unique! Look at this skirt." Kimberly held up a skirt against Abella. "I can already imagine how beautiful you'll look in it!"
"Abella, white sneakers are popular among young people, right? How about this pair?" Beckett eagerly presented a pair of white shoes to Abella.
"How about this purse?" Kimberly took down a bag and said, "It's like it's tailor-made for you. It will definitely look good on you!"
Abella listened to them, her eyes bright, looking extra charming with the sweet-girl look on her stony face.
Standing next to them, Lola turned pale, overwhelmed by the constant shocking news.
She was screaming inwardly, 'What is going on? Why are Dad and Mom treating Abella like their own daughter and buying her all these limited-edition QY items?'
Watching them fawning over Abella with such care, Lola suddenly started fretting.
What happened during the month she lived in school?
"All these items are of your size. If you don't like them, I can ask them to make another batch!" Beckett was determined to spoil Abella.
"Not necessary." Abella's eyes sparkled as she spoke softly, "These are great."
Jack could tell from her tone that she wasn't very satisfied.
But what could he do? These were all her early works that were originally meant to be sold to other clients in the next year or two.
None of them had expected the items to return to Abella.
"How much are these?"
Suddenly, Abella turned to Jack.
Jack was taken aback but quickly explained, "These are the latest representative works of QY, founded by our beautiful and talented founder, even the cheapest item costs thirty thousand."
His flattery made Abella speechless.
"It is well known that the founder, who combines beauty and talent, prices most of her works between five hundred thousand and eight hundred thousand, with true masterpieces starting at one million." Jack kept bragging.
Apparently, Beckett had ordered everything for Abella at a starting price of over 10 thousand dollars. With one glance, Abella noticed that they were all top-of-the-line products.
The only difference between these items and the ordinary ones was the amount of time Abella spent on the sketch.
Anyway, Jack had seen how many designs Abella could create in one night—sometimes over a hundred!
The more expensive designs might take just a few extra minutes compared to the ordinary ones.
"How much is it?" Abella raised an eyebrow and looked meaningfully at Jack.
Jack was puzzled and somewhat uneasy, uttering, "QY has already received Mr. Medici a total of 3.888 billion."
Abella was taken aback by the fact that she had earned so much money from her biological parents on the first day of meeting them. "It's quite a sum."
"Not at all." Jack hurriedly explained. "QY doesn't care about profit. We only focus on quality and produce limited quantities for each item! When you wear our clothes out, you'll be the star among the crowd!"
"However, it is indeed pricey." Abella used a harsher tone, shooting a glare at Jack.
Getting the hint, Jack immediately played along. "Yes. It is quite expensive. How about this? Today, since Mr. Medici has placed such a large order, I think I can give him 10% off?"
Abella pondered his words before asking, "10% off?"
"2...20% off?"
Jack faltered and looked at Abella, who seemed dissatisfied. He swiftly corrected himself. "How about a 30% discount? I can't go any lower than that! I must protect our brand's value!"
Everyone around them was stunned as they didn't think such a high-end brand would accept bargaining. Beckett and Kimberly were surprised that Abella was skilled in bargaining and was touched by her thoughtfulness.
"I'll knock off the odd shillings and only charge 270 million dollars for this order," Jack voiced his decision firmly. "The refund will be transferred to Mr. Medici's account later."
Beckett thought Abella bargained because she felt sorry for spending so much of his money, so he quickly said, "No discount or refund! Abella, I'm rich. I can afford it! You don't have to feel burdened."
"No," Abella replied decisively. "We shouldn't spend money recklessly even though we're rich. Maybe I shall only take half of these items."
'Then I could sell them to someone else and make more profit,' Abella thought.
"I can't accept that," Beckett objected hastily. "Why don't you give Jack your account number instead? You convinced Jack to give you the discount. You should get the refund! Consider this as pocket money from me and your mom."
One hundred million dollars was as pocket money, which stunned Jack!
Lola didn't expect Beckett and Kimberly to be so generous toward Abella. They were giving her such a large sum without batting an eye.
They spoiled her, but they'd never given her that much money.
As Lola stumbled backward, Maria hurriedly stepped forward to support her. She whispered in her ear, "Miss Lola, you must remain calm."
Although the truth was cruel, there was still hope.
Lola watched Beckett and Kimberly. They were treating Abella with affection she had never experienced.
They acted like they'd forgotten about her presence completely!
To Lola, Abella was a cold fish. Although she reined in her aloof attitude in front of Beckett and Kimberly, Lola saw through her. Abella was like an untamed wolf, unable to hide her wild and standoffish nature.
As Lola looked at Abella, she saw a big red flag.
How could a wolf be among sheep? Obviously, Abella had come to the wrong place.
She didn't fit in with anything here!
"Dad, Mom, is she...?" Lola tried to remain calm and asked with a smile on her face.
Only then did Beckett and Kimberly notice Lola's presence.
Kimberly ordered the servants to bring the clothes to Abella's room.
The caring tone of hers made Lola feel uneasy again.
Clearly, Lola was the sixth in the family's birth order. How did an extra person suddenly appear?"
