Chapter 463 Carrying Several People Back
As soon as they burst into the living room, a figure as light as a swallow swiftly appeared, the door locked behind them.
Abella had trapped everyone in the living room, including herself. Several people realized they had fallen into a trap and looked up at the girl before them. In the darkness, she wore a baseball cap and a black mask, her slender figure blocking the door, exuding a fierce aura.
The man in the lead was filled with killing intent. "Nicole, you traitor. You've finally shown yourself."
They all wore black hoods, concealing their features.
"Today is your last day," the leader growled.
The man in charge made a swift move, and the others followed suit. One of them drew a dagger and viciously slashed at Abella's abdomen. Abella dodged, seized his wrist, and kicked him in the chest.
Another individual aimed a vase at Abella, prompting her to swiftly redirect it towards the sofa, ensuring no echo of its impact upon landing.
Several assailants closed in simultaneously, one receiving a calculated kick to the head from Abella, only to deftly dodge the blow.
In a swift retaliation, another attacker found Abella's foot landing accurately on his fist with full force, transmitting a sharp, intense pain from his hand to his shoulder, evoking a fleeting wince and prompting him instinctively to clutch the afflicted area.
Subsequently, as one individual brandished a small blade to target Abella's neck, she sidestepped and promptly delivered a forceful kick to his chest.
She was incredibly agile, her movements swift and fierce.
The leader suffered, his voice tinged with anger. "You're not Nicole?"
Abella swiftly attacked him again.
"Who are you?" Seeing Abella's silence, the leader exuded a murderous aura and launched a vicious attack, but he couldn't match her, and he was even at a disadvantage.
The others were injured and in pain, clearly no match for Abella.
"It's time to end this," the leader said.
Since she wasn't Nicole, there was no need to waste time with her. The leader's words made everyone pull out silenced guns and aim at Abella.
As they pulled the triggers, Abella leaped into the air, dodging the hail of bullets. She moved with the grace of a swan, not only avoiding a dozen bullets but also seizing one man's arm, taking his gun, and launching a swift counterattack.
Her marksmanship was impeccable, and soon, four of the armed men were hit.
"Who are you?" Now, the leader truly felt something was amiss.
The girl surpassed them in agility, marksmanship, and reflexes! There was no chance of winning like this!
"Retreat!" the leader ordered, intending to leave the place.
However, in the seven minutes since they had entered the living room, they had unknowingly inhaled a gas, leaving them weak and disoriented.
Abella had prepared a special sleeping gas, which, when ignited, produced minimal smoke, making it difficult to detect in the environment.
It had no scent and quickly rendered people unconscious.
So, when they realized they had lost control of their bodies, it was already too late.
The leader threw a smoke bomb and tried to leave. The living room was filled with thick smoke. Abella heard the sound of broken windows. She listened carefully, picked up the rope she had prepared, and tied up the ones who hadn't escaped through the window.
One person had already fled to the yard and left by climbing over the wall.
Abella looked in the direction he had left, but she didn't chase after him. She then looked at the four people who were tied up, all of them unconscious.
At that moment, someone knocked on the door from outside.
"Professor Medici, are you home? Is it you who came back?" The owner of the neighboring breakfast shop knocked on the door. "Are you okay? Why did I hear the sound of breaking glass?"
"It's dark in here; maybe you misheard it," her husband said as he looked around through the crack in the door.
"There's no one in the yard; it's pitch black."
"Should we call the police? I feel something's not right. I'm really worried."
"Are you sure you heard something?"
"Yes, when you were snoring, there was a loud noise of glass breaking, and it came from Professor Medici's house."
"Let's go upstairs and take a look."
From their rooftop, they could see the center of Professor Medici's yard.
"Look, those fallen leaves are still there. Professor Medici is very clean. If she comes back, she will definitely clean the yard first."
"But I clearly heard a noise just now."
"It could be from another house... or maybe a stray cat jumped to the window and accidentally broke something." Her husband yawned. "Let's go to bed. Don't worry; we still have to get up early to make breakfast tomorrow. Professor Medici probably won't be back so soon."
"It's really strange," the wife murmured and turned off the light. When there was no more movement next door, Abella took out her phone and sent a message to her subordinates.
Abella: [Bring a few people to 111 Fish Pond Road and help me carry a few people back.]
Subordinates: [Carry a few people back?]
Her subordinates were all stunned.
Abella: [Hurry up.]
After sending the message, Abella found that Phillip and Winston had left her more than a dozen missed calls and unread messages. She hadn't replied in time during the fight.
She sent two words to each of them.
Abella: [Just come.]
Then, with a light leap, she took down the mini camera that was installed tonight, restored the living room to its original state, and then left with her subordinates.
Long Island Manor. Winston finally heard the sound of his phone, picked it up, and saw only two words, "Just come."
He called back, but after several attempts, no one answered, which made him even more anxious. What's wrong with Abella? Why wasn't she answering the phone?
He sent a message to Phillip.
Winston: [Did Abella contact you?]
Phillipe: [She replied to the message, saying she'll be back soon, but didn't answer the call.]
Winston: [I don't know what Abella is busy with.]
Winston was a little worried, with a sense of foreboding.
"Winston, I've changed my clothes!" Lola came downstairs happily. "Why haven't you changed yet?"
"I'll go now." Winston looked at his phone again.
Abella didn't call back. It was already 8 p.m. Where could she be?
Seeing him so preoccupied and constantly checking his phone, Lola couldn't help but ask, "Winston, is something wrong?"
"No," Winston put away his thoughts. "I'll go upstairs and change. Wait for me."
"Okay!" Lola watched him go upstairs, and she exchanged a glance with Maria.
Maria smiled knowingly and gestured a victory sign to her. Things progressed so smoothly.
Today, Abella wasn't at home, so Maria had her take Winston out shopping, using the excuse of buying Christmas gifts for their parents and Abella.
On the one hand, it could show her generous and well-mannered side; on the other hand, it could enhance the sibling relationship; and last, it could take the opportunity to use Winston's card to buy things for herself.
Otherwise, Abella would spend all of Winston's money.
Maria taught her to act coquettishly by mentioning the last time Winston took Abella to see a movie and go shopping.
Sure enough, Winston wasn't in the mood to go at first, but Lola said with a sad face, "But you went with Abella last time."
