Chapter 1064 Save Me Quickly

Everything was against them.

"Did you find out who did it?" Abella asked, looking up.

"No, but at least we know there are others besides us who want to take them down."

"What are you whispering to Abella about? Let her finish her soup first," Kimberly interjected with a smile.

Turning to Abella, she continued, "Abella, Camila's parents invited your dad and me for dinner. They probably want to discuss Ethan and Camila's wedding. We'll head over now, and you should eat well. Winston will keep you company."

"Okay," Abella replied with a smile and a nod.

"Winston, take good care of Abella while we're gone."

"Got it. You two should get going, don't keep them waiting," Winston said, stepping forward and putting an arm around each of them. "I'll walk you to the door."

"Wait, I forgot my scarf," Kimberly said.

Winston called a servant to fetch it and quickly escorted them to the door.

When the scarf arrived, he personally wrapped it around Kimberly. "Have a safe trip, and don't rush back."

"You rascal, it feels like you're hiding something from us," Kimberly teased.

"Not at all. I just want you to spend more time with Camila's parents and build a good relationship."

Though Kimberly found his behavior a bit odd, she didn't dwell on it. After getting into the car, she reminded him once more to take good care of Abella.

Once they left, Winston went to find Abella.

She was on the phone, and Winston overheard her saying, "Wasn't Jacob a small-time leader in an organization? Check if any of his men are still hiding out, ones who haven't been caught."

The person on the other end sounded puzzled. "Ms. Medici, why are you looking into this? Shouldn't we focus on finding the person behind the fire that led to you being switched at birth?"

Abella explained calmly, "Jacob was Lola's biological father. Before he died, he left a phone for Lola. She must have seen its contents and knows he was forced to take poison by the mastermind. Henry told us about this."

"So?" The person on the other end still sounded confused.

"If Lola knows who the mastermind is, wouldn't she want revenge for her father's death?"

The person on the phone suddenly understood. "I get it! She could either rely on Henry for revenge or use her father's men. But Henry wouldn't help her with something like this, so you suspect she might use her father's men. The mastermind could be your uncle and aunt, given the recent troubles in their businesses."

"And don't forget, Lola wants to get engaged to Henry. She'll maintain her sweet and kind image for now, so she won't use Henry as a pawn."

The person on the phone seemed to have an epiphany. "So, Lola can only use her father's secret men. Abella, you're so smart! I'll start investigating right away!"

If they could confirm that Jacob left some loyal men behind, secretly working for Lola, they could figure out who the mastermind was by seeing who Lola targeted.

After ending the call, Abella noticed Winston had been listening, but didn't mind.

"So, our uncle and aunt might be the masterminds?" Winston recalled the strange behavior of Margaret and her new driver during Christmas and couldn't help but say, "If it's really them, Grandpa and Grandma, and our parents will be heartbroken."

"We don't have enough evidence yet, just suspicions. Don't worry too much, Winston. I hope it's not them."

The next afternoon, when Melanie visited her mother in the hospital, she noticed that Lola in the next room was preparing to be discharged.

Celestia was packing Lola's things, and Briar and a nurse were helping Lola into a wheelchair. The scene deeply angered Melanie.

She stormed in and slapped Lola hard.

"Ms. Hall..." Briar was startled and quickly said, "Ms. Flores is still very weak."

"And my mother isn't?" Melanie retorted, shocked that even her family's servants were speaking up for Lola.

Looking down at Lola in the wheelchair, she remembered how Henry had knelt on the balcony for two hours yesterday to save this woman. Furious, she slapped Lola twice more.

Lola was both angry and resentful. If it weren't for the others present, she would have fought back.

"You caused my mother to have a heart attack, and I haven't even settled that score with you!" Melanie grabbed Lola's hair and shouted, "Do you have any shame? I told you our family doesn't welcome you, yet you keep clinging to Henry. Where's your dignity?"

"Ms. Hall..." Briar tried to intervene.

But Melanie warned, "Anyone who interferes will never find a place in Empire Vista City again!"

Celestia, who was packing, tried to call Henry secretly, but Melanie caught her. "Try it, I dare you."

The two servants and two nurses stood by, too scared to move.

Melanie grabbed Lola's hair with one hand and slapped her face with the other, the blows raining down like a relentless storm.

"Melanie, you're crazy," Lola, still weak from her illness, couldn't fight back. Despite her struggles, she couldn't stop Melanie.

"I must be crazy to have tolerated you for so long!" Melanie, not satisfied, took off her high heels and started hitting Lola with them.

"Ms. Hall, please stop, you'll kill her," Briar pleaded.

Celestia, terrified, begged, "Mr. Hall worked so hard to save Ms. Flores. If he finds out you did this, he'll be furious."

"Ms. Flores is very weak after her illness..." A nurse couldn't help but plead.

"Anyone who says another word will see their entire family wiped out!" Melanie was filled with hatred for Lola. She used both hands to hit Lola with the heels.

Lola, who initially tried to block the blows, ended up curling into a ball, covering her head.

The sharp heels struck her body, arms, and legs, causing her immense pain.
