Chapter 1084 She Agreed?
As soon as Lola's name came up, Scorpion's emotions exploded. He rattled the bars of his cell, yelling, "Let me out! I want to kill her! She is Jacob's daughter. I need to avenge my parents."
The thought of his parents' humiliation before their deaths made him want to tear Lola apart.
Abella spoke calmly, "If you kill her, you won't survive either. If your parents were still alive, they would want you to live well."
Scorpion's eyes reddened even more, and tears he couldn't hold back finally streamed down his face.
After he had cried for a while, Abella asked, "Is Jacob's little organization working for George and Margaret?"
Scorpion was taken aback. "How do you know?"
"Lola and the George couple don't have a deep-seated hatred. There's no reason for her to target their company unless Jacob's death is connected to them. Lola is vengeful; if she knows the cause of her biological father's death, she will definitely seek revenge."
"How did you guess I was with the Johnson family, working for them?"
"I investigated you. At first, I thought Isla didn't have the money or connections to hire someone to kill me. But as I dug deeper, I found your connection to Jacob."
"So you figured it out."
"Over the years, following Jacob's orders, have you indirectly done a lot for George and Margaret?"
"Not that much," Scorpion said, his eyes darkening. "I treated Jacob like a father. Whatever he asked, I did. I never thought about keeping evidence to protect myself."
Every time he completed a task, Scorpion would destroy the evidence to avoid leaving any traces.
Abella looked into his eyes and asked, "What exactly did you do for them?"
Scorpion hesitated, looking at the girl in front of him, but ultimately remained silent.
"Don't worry. If it was something that harmed my family, I could let it go. After all, I will hold the right person accountable. If it was truly George and Margaret's idea, I'll deal with them."
Scorpion was surprised and a bit skeptical, but he eventually decided to spill everything.
"Jacob and Maria were George and Margaret's spies in your family. Any movement in your family, they reported back. Not just them, there are others in the company who are also their spies. The accidents during your parents' travels, the turmoil in the company, all orchestrated by them..." Scorpion revealed everything he knew.
Abella hadn't expected her so-called uncle and aunt to have done so many despicable things behind their backs.
"Jacob liked to keep a backup plan. So, the phone he left for Lola must contain something that can save her life—evidence of George and Margaret's crimes."
"You're telling me all this," Abella looked into his eyes and asked calmly, "What do you want me to help you with?"
Scorpion hadn't expected the young girl in front of him to be so perceptive and mature. No wonder she could lead an organization.
"There is one thing I hope you can help me with..."
At the hospital, a young nurse hurriedly found Henry.
"Mr. Hall, Ms. Hall developed a severe blood infection early this morning. Her condition is critical."
Henry was immediately alarmed. "Then what are you waiting for? Start the emergency treatment! It's almost noon already!"
"Our doctors are doing everything they can, but the patient has multiple bleeding points in her chest. The severe trauma has caused deep vein thrombosis in her legs. If the clot dislodges, it could lead to a heart attack, stroke, and other complications, undoing all previous treatments."
"What should we do now?" Henry was at a loss.
"There is only one way," The nurse hesitantly mentioned a name, "Ms. Medici..."
Henry knew better than anyone that Abella would never operate on his family. He anxiously asked, "Is there no other way?"
"Ms. Hall's condition is extremely serious. Besides Ms. Medici, we can't think of anyone else who can help her," The nurse said helplessly. "Mr. Hall, you can try hiring a renowned doctor nearby, but we doubt anyone would be as skilled as Ms. Medici."
After all, everyone had witnessed Abella's miraculous abilities.
Henry fell silent.
Just then, another servant rushed over. "Mr. Hall, bad news. Mrs. Hall's condition has suddenly worsened. She's been taken to the emergency room."
Henry hurried towards the emergency room, where the doors were closed, and the lights were on.
He grabbed a nurse outside the room. "How is my mom?"
"Mrs. Hall has severe complications. She might not make it through the next two hours."
"What did you say?" Henry was stunned, then urgently said, "She can't die. You have to save her!"
"The doctors inside are doing their best, but... the situation is dire. Mr. Hall, you should prepare yourself."
"What should I do? Just watch my mom die?" Henry was frantic. "Is there no other way?"
"Maybe Ms. Medici can help."
Hearing Abella again, Henry snapped, "Ms. Medici, Ms. Medici! Is there no one else in this hospital? Such a big hospital, and you can't find anyone capable? Do you always need outside help?"
The nurse was terrified. "Ms. Medici is a once-in-a-century genius doctor. We don't know if she can help, but with her skills, she might be able to handle this. It's not that we want you to find Ms. Medici, but she has the highest chance of saving the patient."
Henry was completely defeated. He wanted to find Abella, but he knew better than anyone that she wouldn't help him. She wouldn't even look at him.
"Mr. Hall, think it over," The nurse said, lowering her head and quickly leaving.
After much deliberation, Henry borrowed a phone from his subordinate and called Abella.
He didn't use his own phone because Abella had blocked him long ago.
Abella never answered unknown numbers, but this time, she seemed to anticipate something and picked up quickly.
"It's me, Henry. Don't hang up," Henry apologized and pleaded urgently. "Abella, I'm really out of options. Only you can help me. My mom and sister are in the operating room. One jumped off a building, and the other had a car accident. Both are in critical condition. Can you save them? I'm begging you."
Abella didn't refuse. Instead, she asked calmly, "When?"
Henry's eyes showed a mix of disbelief and surprise. Abella agreed? How could she agree so readily?
