Chapter 628 Email

Jason Cooper, the group's Deputy General Manager, had just heard that HR Director Casey had complained to Phillipe about him, claiming the recent personnel changes were his doing.

As he was about to defend himself, he noticed a girl on the couch, munching on chips and looking content. He was shocked. 'Who is this girl? How can she eat chips on Phillipe's fancy couch? Phillipe is known for his cleanliness! If crumbs fall on his expensive carpet, she's in trouble. But she seems totally carefree.'

Just then, Phillipe came out of the snack cabinet with a bunch of drinks, his eyes hinting at danger. Jason's eyes widened. The cabinet Phillipe had installed months ago, which he thought held secrets, was actually full of snacks and drinks. He couldn't believe it.

Jason snapped out of it. "Mr. Bourbon, I need to talk to you."

He watched in disbelief as Phillipe placed the drinks on the table and gently asked the girl, "The coffee's still hot. Want something else?"

"You go ahead," Abella said, glancing at the table and reaching for a bottle of lemon water. Phillipe noticed and opened it for her, bringing it to her lips. She took a sip.

"How is it?" Phillipe asked.

"Not bad," Abella replied, checking the bottle's packaging. It seemed to be a new product from the Bourbon Group.

"Knowing you like it, we set up a production line," Phillipe said, noticing Jason still staring at Abella. "Is she that good-looking?"

"No," Jason quickly shook his head, then added, "Yes, she's stunning. Is she your girlfriend?"

Phillipe fed Abella another sip without answering.

"She must be your fiancée!" Jason guessed. "You two look perfect together. Congratulations, Mr. Bourbon, and to this lady. I wish you both happiness and mutual respect."

Abella looked up, surprised by his observation. "Thank you."

Jason was now certain she was Phillipe's fiancée. No wonder Phillipe, usually so cold, was personally serving her. Impressive.

"Get to the point," Phillipe said, sitting next to Abella and opening another bag of snacks for her.

"Mrs. Bourbon is one of us, so I'll be direct," Jason said, bowing. "Mr. Bourbon, Casey is slandering me. The personnel changes aren't my doing. Even if they were, it's because I value talent and work hard to recruit it. Why would I push talent away?"

Phillipe fed Abella a snack, noticed she didn't like it, and opened another bag.

"In the past two months, many people have resigned. From what I know, it's because of Casey's management style. She's admired Mr. Bourbon for a long time and can't stand young, beautiful women from prestigious universities who might threaten her position. They don't even last three months of the internship," Jason said, glancing at Abella.

Abella seemed unfazed, still focused on her phone.

Phillipe watched Abella's face. Seeing no reaction, he opened another bag of snacks and fed her again.

Seeing Phillipe ignoring him, Jason continued, "Mr. Bourbon, I've worked here for twelve years. You know my character. I'd never harm the group."

Phillipe gave Abella a sip of lemon water before asking, "What's Casey's motive for framing you?"

"She's unhappy with my decisions and wants to demote me, cut my salary, or even get me fired!" Jason explained quickly. "The head of our department used to be chosen based on merit, but some capable people were too inexperienced. So, I required all deputy heads to have at least three years of experience before promotion. Is that unreasonable? But Casey thought I was blocking her promotion. Yesterday, when she was promoted, I threw a celebration party, and she was the only one who didn't attend."

Phillipe asked calmly, "Why do you think she didn't come?"

"She must be dissatisfied with me. I guess she used her promotion as an excuse to accuse me and blame the personnel changes on me," Jason replied.

Just then, Gabriel knocked and brought in a document. "Mr. Bourbon, this is Casey's resignation letter. The General Manager thought you should handle it."

Jason was shocked. He had just claimed Casey wanted to use her promotion to accuse him. He didn't expect her to resign after finally becoming the head of the department.

Abella thought it made sense. Casey probably felt too ashamed to stay.

"Gabriel, print out the emails the group received and show them to Mr. Cooper," Phillipe instructed. Gabriel quickly printed them. When Jason read the seven or eight emails, he trembled in disbelief.

Each email was from a victim, stating that since joining the company, they had been sexually harassed by Jason. He had promised promotions if they complied and threatened to kick them out if they didn't. Jason also mentioned his grandfather's connection to one of Phillipe's relatives.
