Chapter 289 Shameless People

Before the charity event, the house where Mr. Wilson lived, had been sold. Adjacent to the original house is one of Grandma's villas. Before Mrs. Wilson left, she had the house staff break into Grandma's villa and moved them in. It wouldn't be feasible for the three of them with four or five servants to live in a hotel.

Shortly after the four or five servants had finished moving, a modestly dressed woman, suddenly appeared in front of the villa where Mr. Wilson used to live and learned that he had moved next door.

One of the servants saw her, she frowned and said, "Why is it you again? Didn't I tell you not to come here?"

"I heard that Isla's engagement banquet is in two days." The woman's tone was humble, but before she could finish speaking, the servant rolled her eyes.

"What business is it of yours to be concerned about my young miss's engagement banquet? The Wilson family won't invite you! If you don't leave, we'll call security!"

Upon hearing this, a hint of disappointment flashed in the woman's eyes, but she quickly explained, "I don't want to attend the engagement banquet."

Just then, a van arrived and stopped at the entrance of the Wilson family's estate. Before the servant and the woman could react, they saw Mr. Wilson, Mrs. Wilson, and Isla being thrown out of the vehicle. Then it swiftly drove away.

The three people were bound with ropes, their faces bruised and swollen, and socks stuffed in their mouths. The servant was stunned for two seconds before reacting,

"Mr. Wilson, Mrs. Wilson, Isla! What happened to all of you? Someone, quickly come and help! Mr. Wilson, Mrs. Wilson, Isla are injured! Help them inside!"

"Isla? How did you end up like this?" The woman outside the door rushed up first, intending to untie the ropes on Isla's body.

Isla pushed her away, using her body as a shield, and exclaimed, "What are you doing here? Didn't I tell you to stay far away from me?"

"Isla, Mom just wanted to..."

Before the woman could finish her sentence, Isla impatiently interrupted, "What mom! This is my mom! Mom, are you okay? Did you fall anywhere?"

Daisy, felt a sense of unease, watching her once obedient and sensible daughter, show such care towards Mrs. Wilson.

With the help of a servant, Mrs. Wilson stood up. As soon as the ropes on her were untied, she raised her hand and slapped the woman!

"I offered you a hundred thousand dollars before, but you didn't want it. How come you've come back now? Regretting it?"

Before the woman could answer, Mrs. Wilson taunted, "You must have heard that we spent 12 billion dollars buying land today, right? Knowing that we have money, you want to greedily ask for a lion's share?"

The servant cast a cold glare at Daisy and added sarcastically, "Madam, she mentioned Isla's engagement banquet earlier."

"Hmph, you don't want to attend Isla's engagement banquet as her mother, do you? Ha! Let me tell you, you're not even welcome at our doorstep!"

Watching Mrs. Wilson's condescending attitude, Daisy stepped forward and handed over the item in her arms, enduring the humiliation as she said, "Isla, I heard that you are getting engaged, and this is an engagement gift for you."

Isla furrowed her eyebrows upon hearing this, clearly knowing that whatever was inside this tattered bag was not something valuable. It wasn't going to be a credit card or precious jewelry.

"I know you don't need money, and I'm sure your engagement banquet will have everything you want, so I made a set of clothes for you."

Mrs. Wilson rolled her eyes, thinking that it must be something of value, but it turned out to be useless. What a waste of time listening to all this nonsense.

"I don't need these things; you can take them!" Isla supported Mrs. Wilson's hand and was about to enter the door.

"Isla!" Daisy hurriedly stopped her, tears welling up in her eyes as she watched Isla's unfamiliar figure. "This is the last time I'll come to see you. I won't see you again... Please accept it! I'll leave if you do!"

It was the best wedding gift she could give to her once daughter. Isla grew impatient and gave a signal to the servant, who took the bag from Daisy's arms. That rude action and disdainful expression undoubtedly trampled upon Daisy's dignity.

"Isla accepted all of it, why aren't you leaving?"

"Isla..." Daisy had just wanted to say something when Isla grew impatient.

"I've accepted it all, what else do you want? Haven't you seen that we're both hurt? We want to go inside to clean our wounds, apply some ointment, is that okay?"

Daisy's eyes blurred with tears as she nodded, her voice choked with sobs. "I wish you happiness." Isla's body suddenly stiffened.

"Call the property management and tell them to be more careful in the future, to not let anyone in!" Mrs. Wilson's manner was as if she considered this place her own home, acting like she was the mistress herself.

Daisy hadn't gone far when she suddenly heard Mrs. Wilson's words and chuckled self-deprecatingly. All these years, she had worked hard to raise Isla until she turned eighteen.

When Isla returned to her own home, the Wilson couple had wanted to give her a hundred thousand dollars as a token of appreciation, but she refused, only wanting to see Isla when she had spare time.

But now, Isla didn't recognize her, she didn't want to have any relationship with her, and the Wilson family wouldn't allow her to visit again. She had, shamelessly, come a few times, but every time she was driven away by the staff.

Although she knew Isla was now back in a wealthy family and must be living a better life than before. But Isla didn't cherish her love, and that still saddened her.

"What is this thing! It's so ugly!" The servant just entered the house and opened the bag, taking out the contents while looking and complaining.

Mrs. Wilson glanced at it casually and coldly said, "Throw it away!"

The servant threw the things into the trash and couldn't help but complain, "When Isla marries into the Johnson family, she will naturally use the most fashionable, comfortable, and good-looking bedding!”

“I think Daisy, intentionally wanted the people from the Johnson family, to know about the Miss's dark past. She deliberately used this thing to disgust people. She just wants to make Isla feel uncomfortable when she sees it!"

Mrs. Wilson didn't want to hear about Daisy anymore and waved her hand. "Go get the medicine box."
