Chapter 300 Final Moments

"But you have done so many excessive things to me and the people around me. Mr. Thomas's daughter was frightened by you and developed depression! Mr. Watson had a heart attack and passed away early because of you! Helen has become mentally unstable because of you!"

The guests were in an uproar. Oh my, the Wilson family has committed so many malicious deeds. Scaring someone into developing depression? Causing premature death? Causing mental instability? This sounds like a crime!

"Mother, we know we were wrong in the past. You must give us a chance to change..." Mrs. Wilson, who was kneeling on the ground, pleaded.

But Barbara replied coldly, "If I hadn't seen through your ambitions, maybe I would have given you this chance."

But with their true nature, they will never change in this lifetime. Thinking this, Barbara ordered them to leave, "Go, deal with the mistakes you have made yourselves."

"Mother, we haven't asked for your help all these years. Why won't you help us this one time?
What about us?" Mrs. Wilson tugged on Grandma's sleeve, refusing to leave, and crying inconsolably.

"Wasn't I clear enough earlier? Why won't I help? Don't you feel any guilt? Everything you've done over the years has left me disheartened! That's why I won't help! You say you never asked for my help all these years, only this once? That's because Abella was always there behind the scenes taking care of everything for you!”

“You owe your achievements today to Abella's hard work! If it weren't for Abella providing you resources, securing orders, and resolving issues, where would you be now? But how did you treat her? You kicked her out, subjected her to constant humiliation! You were quick to insult and physically abuse her!"

"You drove Abella away, and now that you face difficulties, you come seeking my help?! I've said it, I won't help. Let that be final!"

The shock rippled through the entire gathering. Even the Johnson family didn't anticipate that the Wilson family's success wasn't due to the expertise or exceptional abilities of Mr. and Mrs. Wilson in business, but rather because Abella had been supporting them behind the scenes, providing resources and helping them deal with troublesome matters.

Those who didn't know Abella remained completely oblivious to her identity. But those close to the Wilson family, their relatives, and friends, as well as Mr. Hamilton, Mrs. Hamilton, and Remy, were well aware that Abella had lived with the Wilson family for eighteen years before being sent away by the Wilson couple.

No one expected her capabilities to be so extraordinary, enabling Mr. Wilson to become the wealthiest person in New York. She had founded QY, was a piano master, and certainly had an extensive network.

Thinking this, Mr. Hamilton and Mrs. Hamilton regretted their past actions. If they had a daughter-in-law like Abella, the Johnson family would undoubtedly have fared better than they were now. It was their own shortsightedness that caused them to miss such an opportunity.

In the video, Mrs. Wilson continued to plead desperately, "Mother, we can hardly hold on anymore. Is it fair to Jeff, to me, to Isla for you to insist on leaving everything to Abella?"

"That's my belongings, and I'll give them to whomever I please. If you don't leave, I'll call for help." In the end, no matter how much the Wilson family begged and cried, Grandma had made up her mind.

"Today is my birthday, and tomorrow I will undergo surgery. Are you hoping for my death by staying here crying at this hour?"

After Grandma's words, Mr. Wilson had no choice but to pull Mrs. Wilson and Isla, intending to wait until Grandma finished her surgery the next day before pleading with her again.

The video was supposed to end there, but unexpectedly, a little while later, Mrs. Wilson returned to the ward alone once again. At first, she pleaded earnestly, but eventually lost her patience and revealed a hint of resentment in her expression.

"I truly treated you like my own mother, which is why I've always compromised and backed down! Let me ask you one last time, will you help or not?"

Barbara was also provoked, and she retorted, "Are you threatening me? Let me tell you..."

Before Barbara could finish her sentence, Mrs. Wilson suddenly grabbed Grandma's hair, her face contorted with a sinister look.

"You old wretch, do you think you're something special just because I've shown you some respect? Let me tell you, whether you help willingly or not, you will pay for it!!"

"Let me go!" Perhaps Barbara didn't expect Mrs. Wilson to act so audaciously.

Barbara was completely furious but couldn't break free from Mrs. Wilson's grip, like a helpless little chick with no strength to fight back. With one hand clutching Barbara's hair, Mrs. Wilson viciously slapped her across the face. In the quiet ward, the sound of that slap was particularly clear and loud.

The guests were all shocked, never expecting that the Mrs. Wilson, who was sobbing just a second ago, would suddenly turn into a different person. How could she be so cruel to a sick Grandma. Even Mr. Wilson and Isla couldn't believe it. The three of them were kicked out of the ward by Grandma last night.

As they had just reached the corridor, Mrs. Wilson suddenly came up with a good idea that could make Grandma agree to help. So they reluctantly let her return, and try again. Mr. Wilson and Isla waited for her in the car. But they didn't expect her to resort to violence!

"You old hag, I've wanted to kill you a long time ago! You've lived until today without any gratitude or appreciation, instead repaying kindness with enmity!"

"Every day you make things difficult for me; if others didn't know any better, they'd think you're some extraordinary person! You shameless thing!" Mrs. Wilson said this angrily and forcefully pushed Grandma away.

Barbara's back hit the headboard, and she was in agony. "Help, someone..."

"You still want to call for help, you old wretch? Go ahead and call! Let's see if you can!" Mrs. Wilson tightly covered Barbara's mouth and nose; Barbara couldn't breathe and struggled desperately.

"How does it feel to suffocate? Let me ask you one last time, will you help or not?" The surveillance camera could only capture Grandma's wriggling and suffering body on the hospital bed, and Mrs. Wilson's sinister expression.

Barbara's feeble hands couldn't remove her daughter-in-law's grip, and the suffocation made her heart endure immense stress. There was a moment when she felt like she was going to die.

Almost instinctively, she tried to reach for the call button, but Mrs. Wilson noticed and slapped her hand away.

"You old hag, it seems you haven't suffered enough yet!" Mrs. Wilson placed the call button in a faraway location and slapped Barbara again.

When dealing with Barbara, it is as easy as handling an unarmed child, no effort needed at all. Barbara's vision was filled with stars as she struggled to catch her breath, instinctively reaching for the phone under her pillow.

Mrs. Wilson immediately noticed her action and exclaimed, "What? Are you planning to call Abella? You sly old thing! Quite resourceful!"

Mrs. Wilson attempted to snatch the phone, but Barbara resisted. They engaged in a tense tug of war, and in the process, Barbara, feeling both anxious and angry, was pushed and her head forcefully collided with the bed railing.

After a struggle, Mrs. Wilson finally managed to snatch the phone and held it up triumphantly, laughing mockingly, "Do you want this?"
