Chapter 503 Meeting

Abella followed his steps through the small courtyard and arrived in front of the house.

Raymond whispered, "Her identity is special. If you see her face, it might bring you deadly trouble."

Abella was taken aback, thinking, 'Quite a big deal?'

"So, just take care of her inside. There's no one else in there."

The person was in the next room, separated from them by a frosted glass wall with a small hole in the middle.

Abella suddenly understood, thinking, 'Taking care of someone through a wall? Quite novel.'

Raymond approached the small hole, bent down, and spoke to the person on the other side, "Carol, my friend is here. If you feel uncomfortable, just tell her."

On the other side of the wall was the girl's bed. At this moment, the girl was curled up on the bed in pain.

She clutched the corner of the quilt tightly, her shoulders trembling with pain. Large beads of sweat fell from her forehead onto her cold, stunning face.

Although her face was pale, it did not detract from her beauty in the slightest.

If it weren't for the torment of illness, her features could be described as breathtakingly beautiful, rarely seen in the world.

"Okay." The girl could no longer utter a complete word; even this sound was made through gritted teeth.

But Abella could still tell from her voice that she was young.

"She is in so much pain that she can't get up to greet you," Raymond turned to explain to Abella, "If possible, help me alleviate her pain during her episodes."

"Alright."

"I'll be back quickly," Raymond said this and then bent down again, speaking gently to the girl on the other side of the wall, "I'm leaving now. I'll be back soon. Wait for me."

He thought, 'You must wait.

'At least let me see you one last time.'

Abella saw the reluctance and pain in Raymond's eyes and said softly, "Don't worry. Before you return, I'll make sure she's okay."

"Thank you." Raymond gave Abella a grateful look.

This was why he had sought out Abella in the middle of the night. In this place, only Abella could ease Carol's pain at this critical moment.

After Raymond left, Abella spoke softly to the girl on the other side of the wall, "Stretch out your hand. Let me take a look."

The girl on the bed endured the pain and stretched out her hand.

It was a slender, fair hand.

Abella checked her pulse for a while and said, "Your poison is indeed very complex. I'll help you relieve the pain first."

The girl heard the sound of Abella opening her backpack, followed by the sound of an injection needle.

She immediately withdrew her hand, wary and cautious of Abella.

Abella was somewhat surprised. "You can even recognize the sound of an injection needle?"

Abella thought, 'When I have taken out the injection needle just now, the short one had touched the long one. Just from that sound, she has recognized it?

'It seems her identity is indeed not simple.'

"Injection, for pain relief." Abella began to sterilize the injection needle. "Can you smell the disinfectant?"

The girl hesitated for a moment and then stretched out her hand again.

"Raymond didn't tell you that he once saved my life?" Abella directly placed the injection needle on the hand of the girl and said softly, "I won't harm you."

The girl, always cautious, did not relax much at Abella's words and remained vigilant.

"Switch hands."

The girl stretched out her other hand.

After applying the injection, Abella said, "The pain should be easing."

The girl was somewhat surprised. It seemed Raymond wasn't lying; this Abella was indeed skilled in medicine.

"Left hand." Abella began to remove the injection needle, and after a while, she said, "Right hand."

The girl obediently complied.

"Is it less painful now?"

"Much better." The girl on the bed didn't expect Abella's medical skills to be so advanced and said gratefully, "Thank you."

Just now, she was in such excruciating pain that she wanted to die. If it weren't for a certain wish, she would have already ended her life by smashing her head against the wall.

"How many more hours can my body hold out?"

She didn't know if she could wait until Raymond returned.

"Hard to say," Abella said while packing up the medical kit, "Your condition is indeed complex, but it's not incurable."

The girl's eyes showed a glimmer of hope, "Really?"

"Yes," Abella finished packing, raised her head, and said gently, "But to completely cure it won't be easy."

"Do you have a way?"

"I need to take some of your blood back for research," Abella explained, "You have a lot of toxins in your body. To completely cure it, multiple treatments are needed, and it won't be quick."

"How confident are you?"

"Seventy to eighty percent."

The girl's eyes were filled with surprise.

She thought, 'That much? I've sought countless renowned doctors before, and they all said I'm beyond help.

'Even the famous Daniel Smith, who also said he was powerless.

'However, he did recommend someone, saying Abbott Wilson might have a solution.

'But Abbott is elusive. No one has known his whereabouts for years. Until now, I haven't been able to find him.'

"Can you save me?" The girl asked with hope and pleading, anxiously waiting for Abella's answer.

Abella looked at her slender wrist and asked gently, "What is your relationship with Raymond?"

"Sister," The girl answered truthfully, "Biological sister."

Abella was somewhat surprised. She had never heard Raymond mention a sister before.

The girl explained, "Because of our sensitive identities, we've never told anyone. You're the first."

Abella nodded. "Alright, I'll do my best."

Abella considered it repaying Raymond's life-saving grace.

"Thank you. Can you call Raymond and ask him to come back?"

If she could survive, there would be no need to fulfill that wish immediately.

Once she recovered, she could do it herself.

Abella took out her phone and dialed Raymond's number, but it showed that his phone was off.

Hearing the cold voice of the system, the girl felt a bit guilty. "Raymond had taken me to see many doctors before. They all said my condition was complicated and incurable. I thought I was beyond help."

So, when Raymond thought of Abella and the entire Silvercrest, she managed, he wanted to take Carol to see Abella.

But Carol had already lost the will and courage to live.

"I live in pain every day. There were several times I wanted to end it all, but I knew that if I left, Raymond would surely follow. We are each other's only family in this world."

"I can see that," Abella said gently, "He cares about you a lot. Otherwise, he wouldn't have come to me in the middle of the night in the rain."

She thought, 'He even injured my subordinates.

'I need to let him buy something and apologize later. He can't get away with it.'

"He even went out in the rain?" Carol felt even more guilty. After a while, she asked, "You sound very young. How are your medical skills so advanced?"

"An old sir taught me."

"That old sir must be very skilled and value you a lot. Otherwise, he wouldn't have taught you such amazing skills."

As Carol said this, she began to feel the pain coming back.
