Chapter 470 You Seem to Be Enjoying Your Meal
"Baby Abella, you're finally back! Where did Winston take you?" Mrs. Medici, sitting on the sofa, quickly got up and walked towards Abella as she entered the house.
She had called and messaged her, but after a long wait without any response, Mrs. Medici had started to worry that something might have happened to her.
"We went out for a while, and I didn't check my phone," Abella explained softly.
"Thank goodness you're safe," Mrs. Medici said, then turned to Winston, "Winston, it's late! How could you keep Abella out so long? It's fine if you want to have fun, but Abella is a girl. She needs to rest early for her skin. Can you be more considerate?"
"I was the one who asked Winston to go out," Abella defended, "It's not his fault."
"See, Abella took the initiative to bond with you, inviting you out and speaking up for you. Where else can you find such a good sister? You must treat her well from now on!" Mrs. Medici said to Winston.
Winston, holding the snacks, smiled and said, "Got it, Mom. I bought some snacks. Let's eat together."
"I'm not hungry. I've been doing exercise with Phillipe's mother to lose weight," Mrs. Medici said.
"Then I'll accompany my wife to lose weight together. You two enjoy it," Mr. Medici said, supporting Mrs. Medici upstairs. "Come on, let's rest upstairs."
"I had a bad feeling all along, thinking something had happened to them," Winston said.
Winston brought the snacks to the kitchen, and the servants placed them on the table, a total of eleven large plates.
Lola waited upstairs for a while, but when she didn't see Winston, she went downstairs and found them in the dining area.
At that moment, Winston was handing Abella a pastry and saying, "Have some more."
"Winston, Abella, you're back?" Lola concealed her dissatisfaction and smiled. "So many delicious things. Can I have some, too?"
"Lola? Come, have some. I bought a lot." Winston got up again to pull out a chair for her and brought utensils.
Lola stole a glance at Abella. Not only did she steal Winston, but she also deliberately bought some snacks to show off. She was quite a schemer!
"Lola, have some more," Winston said, handing Lola a few pastries, then looked at Abella. "How about you? Is it good?"
Abella nodded. "It's good."
The pastries were fresh and delicious.
"Then have some more," Winston said, putting a few more in her bowl. He remembered how Abella had gone hungry from noon to night while trying to catch those guys.
"These are good too; try them." Winston added a few more things to her bowl.
A hint of dissatisfaction flashed in Lola's eyes. Just now, Winston had only given her four different pastries, but he had given Abella a full seven!
"Winston, eat while it's hot," Abella said, concerned.
"I'm not hungry, but you..." Winston felt guilty, so he picked up his utensils and served her some Baked Meatloaf, then added more, afraid she wouldn't eat enough.
This silly girl was obviously hungry, but she had spent a few hours in the lab. If he hadn't heard her stomach growling, was Abella planning not to eat tonight?
"Winston, this is for you," Abella said, picking up her utensils and serving Winston a portion.
Touched, Winston felt even more guilty. "Abella, have some more. I'm not hungry."
As Abella ate, she suddenly remembered that she forgot to call Philippe to let him know she was safe, so she took out her phone and sent him a message.
Abella: [I'm home. I'm going to bed now. Goodnight.]
Within seconds, Philippe replied.
Phillipe: [Ready to sleep?]
Abella: [Yes.]
Philippe: [I see you're enjoying your meal.]
Abella looked up. "Winston, did you tell Philippe we're having a snack?"
"Yes, he asked if we had arrived home, so I said yes and that we were having a snack."
"And did you send my photo to him?"
"Yes." Winston showed her. "Look at how cute you look when you're eating."
Abella was speechless.
Philippe: [You having snacks with Winston. You lied to me about going to bed.]
Philippe was clearly hurt.
Abella: [I'll take a shower and go to bed right away.]
Phillippe: [Are you tired today?]
Abella: [Yes, a little.]
Lola saw that Abella had been typing all along as if she were afraid no one would know she was chatting with Philippe!
She didn't know what Abella was showing off!
She even deliberately mentioned Philippe's name, as if she was announcing to the world that she was chatting with Philippe!
After a while, Abella finished her snack and got up first, saying, "I'm full."
Lola thought she finally had a chance to stay and be alone with Winston. Her eyes lit up, but she didn't have time to be happy.
"Abella, wait." Winston hadn't finished eating, but he quickly got up. "I'm done too. I'll take you upstairs."
Abella was a little puzzled.
Lola didn't expect Winston to stick so closely to Abella, and she was instantly unhappy!
"I forgot to ask you a question," Winston said in a low voice after leaving the dining area and seeing no one around. "You said earlier that those grandfathers taught you your skills. Do those grandfathers have high status and reputation in their respective industries?"
"Yes." Abella nodded, not understanding why Winston suddenly asked this question.
"Is your skill taught by one of those grandfathers too?"
"Did Sam say something to you?" Abella immediately thought that.
"No, he didn't say anything. I hacked his phone and saw the video of you fighting with those people."
Abella understood immediately. That talkative person must have mentioned her installing surveillance at Nicole's house. Otherwise, how would Winston know that there was surveillance video on his phone and specifically hacked it to watch?
Thinking about it, the picture of the beautiful girl that Winston sent to Sam was not to introduce a potential date but a virus.
He was trying to hack Sam's phone.
"When was your organization founded?" Winston asked again.
Had Sam also mentioned the organization?
Abella now just wanted to beat him up.
"Sam really didn't say anything. I saw those people calling you the boss, each holding a weapon," Winston clarified.
Winston couldn't help but ask, "I'm not asking about your past; I just want to know if you're safe now and if you need more people to protect you?"
"No need," Abella said with a faint smile, "Winston, don't worry, I'm fine now."
"What does your organization do?"
"Just protect some weak people and, incidentally, some medicinal materials."
