Chapter 626 Unexpected Appearance

"Just call me Abella," she said.

"No way, your skills are way better than mine. Here, have some coffee. It's the best I've got," the attending physician said, placing the cup in front of her. "It's hot, so sip slowly."

Abella took the coffee and got straight to the point. "I need all the real-time data from the patient in ward 308, plus any issues the staff noticed."

"One sec, I'll pull it up," the doctor said, quickly turning the computer screen towards her. "Here it is, four pages. Take your time."

Abella read through the first page and clicked to the next.

"No adverse reactions, no complaints from the patient or family. We checked every hour last night and found nothing," the doctor said, then hesitated. "Dr. Medici, where did you get that medication? Can it be used more widely?"

"Not yet," Abella replied. The drug was too pricey and not fully tested.

"Oh," the doctor nodded, not pushing further. "The patient's recovery is impressive."

After reading all four pages, Abella agreed. "Yes, it's better than I expected."

"If there are no complications, the patient can go home in three days. If anything comes up, contact me immediately." She handed over her personal QR code.

The doctor, surprised but thrilled, quickly added her on WhatsApp.

"I'll be busy the next few days, so please keep an eye on the patient," Abella said.

"No problem at all. I'll take good care of them," the doctor replied, still excited about the WhatsApp add.

"I'll be leaving now."

As she stood up, the doctor offered her coffee. "Dr. Medici, your coffee."

"No, thank you."

He watched her leave, thinking how polite, young, beautiful, and skilled she was. He wondered who she'd end up marrying.

After leaving the hospital, Abella realized she'd been neglecting Phillipe, so she bought some things and drove to the Bourbon Group.

In the office, Gabriel reported, "Mr. Bourbon, our clothing brand can launch hundreds of new designs every month. The new designer is talented, and our brand's popularity is now on par with QY."

"Cut it down to eighty designs a month," Phillipe said, flipping through documents. "Clothing isn't our main focus."

Gabriel knew Phillipe wanted QY to dominate and couldn't help but suggest, "Mr. Bourbon, you could make money with Ms. Medici."

"The money I make will be hers eventually," Phillipe said, looking up from the documents.

Gabriel couldn't argue with that. "Oh, by the way, a new brand popped up this quarter, closely trailing QY in sales. They copy QY's style, make only one piece per design, and sell cheaper, stealing QY's customers."

Their similar but cheaper designs were selling well.

"Focus on their fabric, price, style, and design. Find a way to get them off the shelves," Phillipe said. Then, hearing a knock, he added, "Come in."

"Mr. Bourbon." A woman walked in, holding documents and a coffee cup, her eyes full of admiration.

Phillipe looked at her. "I called for the head of HR."

Gabriel chimed in, "Mr. Bourbon, this is the new head of HR, Casey Parker."

Casey moved her hair to one side and smiled, handing over the coffee. "Mr. Bourbon, I'm Casey. Nice to meet you. This is the coffee from the secretary and the document you requested. Some personnel changes this quarter are due to decisions by one of our execs. I'd like to discuss it privately."

Phillipe glanced at her made-up face, then at Gabriel, who quickly left.

As Gabriel stepped out, he saw Abella exiting the elevator with a bag.

"Ms. Medici?" Gabriel was shocked. "What brings you here?"

Abella smiled. "Can't I visit?"

"No, no, it's just a surprise. Mr. Bourbon will be thrilled! Let me help with that. Is it for him?"

"Yes." Abella handed him the bag. "Is he busy?"

"Lots of personnel changes lately, and many resignations. Mr. Bourbon is investigating."

"I'll wait here."

"Why don't you come in and sit?" Gabriel offered. Abella walked into his office, finding it quite nice.

She realized she'd been neglecting her own diligent staff, whose offices weren't half as nice.

"It's a bit messy, Ms. Medici. Please sit. I'll get you some coffee," Gabriel said, adding, "The coffee beans Mr. Bourbon bought can finally be used. If you hadn't come, they'd expire. And there's a snack cabinet just for you. The stuff's been sitting there forever."

Abella felt touched but was interrupted by the sound of a cup shattering next door, followed by Phillipe's angry voice.

She couldn't make out the words but knew he was upset.

"Ms. Medici, please wait. I'll check," Gabriel said, quickly opening the door.

Abella asked, "Is he always like this?"

"No, Mr. Bourbon is usually considerate and easygoing. Something must've really upset him." Gabriel knocked on Phillipe's door and heard him yell, "Get out."

Gabriel quickly closed the door, looking scared.

Curious, Abella went to knock on Phillipe's door.

"Didn't you hear me? I said..." Phillipe started, then saw it was Abella.
