Chapter 1106 Severing Ties

"Winslow !" Carl tried to help Winslow, but he couldn't stand and almost fell over.

Luckily, a few of his grandsons were quick to act, catching Winslow and supporting him.

The brutal family conflict was too much for the elderly couple to bear.

"You two jerks," Carl cried, both angry and hurt, "You've driven Winslow to this point. Are you happy now? Don't ever say you're my son and daughter-in-law. I never want to see you again."

His emotions were overwhelming, and he struggled to breathe, needing to be helped away to rest.

Kimberly looked at George and Margaret with a cold heart and asked, "The people who broke into Long Island Manor tonight and set fire to the basement, and the mysterious person who's been threatening Henry all this time—are they your people?"

"Yes," Margaret and George admitted in unison.

"Did you also force Jacob to take poison?"

"Yes."

Kimberly decided to reveal the truth, "Actually, Jacob died shortly after arriving at Long Island Manor, but Abella spread the news that he was still alive to draw out the mastermind. She even had the servants throw bloody bandages into the trash to bait you. Sure enough, you couldn't sit still and kept testing the waters."

Margaret was stunned to learn that even the bloody bandages were part of Abella's plan.

She had even had those bandages tested, and the results matched the poison Jacob had ingested.

"When did you start suspecting us?" Margaret looked at Abella on the sofa, surprised by her intelligence.

"Ever since Lola left this house, I had my doubts," Abella answered truthfully.

Margaret was even more surprised because Abella had only interacted with them a few times back then, and they had always been particularly kind.

Why would Abella suspect them for no reason?

"But I didn't investigate deeply at that time. It wasn't until Christmas, when you tried to use the new driver to clear your name, that I started digging."

Margaret had tried to divert their investigation from the film company by guiding them to look into the new driver. Once they found nothing wrong with the driver, they would think they had suspected the wrong person and lower their guard.

"The main reason was your reaction to the driver incident. It was too deliberate. From the day I met you, I had never seen you look nervous."

Margaret realized she had made a mistake by overreacting, revealing a flaw to Abella.

But now, it was too late to say anything.

Carl and Winslow had been so good to her, secretly saving her family and maintaining her dignity for years. Even after her brother took over the factory, they had quietly helped him make connections.

Carl and Winslow hadn't shunned her because of the scandalous photos or because she had secretly used gold to pay off her brother's debts. They hadn't stopped George from marrying her despite her family's debts. They had always treated her as one of their own.

They hadn't favored sons over daughters or shown any bias. It was her own jealousy that had blinded her.

She closed her eyes, resigned, and after a long pause, she confessed, "Primrose and Elsa knew nothing about this. Please spare them. Do whatever you want with us."

Even if it meant exposing their deeds to the public, ruining their reputation.

Even if it meant imprisoning them or worse.

Even if it meant falling from grace and losing everything.

They deserved it.

They accepted it.

"When you hurt Abella, did you ever consider that she was your niece? Did you ever think about sparing her? You're begging me now because your deeds have been exposed. If we had all died in that fire, and you two had inherited the company, would you still regret it like you do now?" Kimberly's emotions were intense, her eyes red, and her voice hoarse.

Margaret couldn't bring herself to ask for anything more, silently shedding tears.

"Beckett, Kimberly, it's all our fault. We were arrogant and blinded by jealousy. We did terrible things. I know it's too late to say anything now. Beckett, Kimberly, do whatever you want with us. Please accept my apology."

George bowed deeply, "I'm sorry."

He bowed again, tears streaming down his face, "We wronged you and your children."

"I'm sorry," Margaret echoed George, bowing towards Abella, "Abella, I'm sorry."

They had made their niece suffer for eighteen years, allowing Lola to live in luxury in the Medici family.

They had known Lola wasn't Beckett and Kimberly's real daughter, but had kept silent out of spite.

"Get out," Beckett cried, tears streaming down his face, "I never want to see you again. From now on, we go our separate ways. I don't have a brother anymore."

Primrose tried to pull George up, but he felt too guilty to move, "Beckett…"

Was Beckett really severing ties with him?

"Get out!" Beckett roared, trembling, his eyes red with anger.

"We'll leave right away. We'll reflect on our actions. I'm sorry, Uncle Beckett, Aunt Kimberly. Please calm down." Elsa hurriedly pulled Margaret up and bowed towards Abella, "I'm sorry, Abella."

She knew her parents were at fault, and nothing they said could change that.

Elsa and her sister pulled their parents away, leaving the gold and silver jewelry on the ground.

But George and Margaret left in tears, looking back with every step.

They had once imagined that if Beckett and Kimberly found out about their schemes, they would be angry and sad.

Just thinking about Beckett and Kimberly's pain had made them feel satisfied.

But now, they regretted their actions deeply.

"Abella." Margaret stopped and looked at Abella with tear-filled eyes, wanting to say something but ultimately only saying, "Take care."

Her words were light as a feather, but Abella felt their weight like a mountain.
