Chapter 448 The Old Man Wakes Up

After leaving Abella's room, Winston pondered.

His sister possessed exceptional hacking skills, and any task she took on started at a minimum of thirty million in compensation. Wasn't his allowance too meager for her? Should he transfer more to her?

His phone vibrated a few times with messages from his friends.

[How was it? Did you see Abella?]

[Is Abella cute?]

[Abella is timid. You should approach her and make her feel your warmth.]

[Be gentle and gentlemanly when talking to her.]

[Abella doesn't like physical contact. Don't touch her head or put your arm around her.]

[No matter what happens, always consider Abella's feelings first.]

Winston: [I don't need your advice.]

He put away his phone, intending to go downstairs, but to his surprise, Lauren rushed upstairs in a fluster.

"Miss Abella, Mr. Medici Senior has woken up. Would you like to go to the hospital to see him? Miss Abella, have you rested?"

Lauren knocked on Abella's door, not even noticing Winston beside her.

Abella opened the door, saw that Winston hadn't left yet, and obediently called out to him before turning to Lauren. "Grandpa Medici woke up?"

Only then did Lauren notice someone beside her. "Yes, the hospital called and said he just opened his eyes."

"Winston, would you like to come with me to see him?" Abella's gaze turned to Winston.

It was the first time Abella had invited Winston. His gaze softened. "Sure, let's go together."

This trip back home was to see Abella and their grandparents.

Half an hour later, when Abella and the others arrived at the hospital, a nurse rushed up to her.

"Miss Abella, you've come at the right time. Carl had a sudden seizure and fell into a coma."

Abella immediately hurried to the ward.

Another doctor approached her and volunteered a report. "When Carl woke up earlier, we conducted a full-body examination and found nothing unusual. We don't know why he suddenly had a seizure."

Winston, standing nearby, didn't understand why all the doctors and nurses were reporting the situation to Abella. Did she have medical knowledge?

Abella immediately stepped forward to diagnose. "He was triggered. Who spoke to him just now?"

Winslow, standing beside her, was surprised. "It was me. I mentioned your and Lola's origins, and before I could finish, he became agitated. Abella, you must save him."

Winslow regretted it. "It's all my fault. I shouldn't have told him these things before he stabilized emotionally."

Abella took out her tools to help with his therapy. Soon, the person on the hospital bed stopped convulsing and gradually calmed down.

"Abella, is Carl alright?" Winslow was still a bit worried. She didn't expect such a strong reaction from Carl regarding the children's origins.

"He's fine." Abella administered a few more injections, and after a while, the elderly man on the hospital bed slowly opened his eyes.

Winston, who was standing beside them, was astonished. He didn't expect Abella to not only have medical knowledge but also such remarkable medical skills. With just a few injections, she was able to bring Grandpa Medici back to consciousness.

"You... who are you?" Carl asked weakly. Just now, he heard from his wife that both he and his wife were saved from the hands of death by their own granddaughter.

"My name is Abella, I am your granddaughter," Abella answered calmly.

The elderly man on the hospital bed gasped for air once again. Abella immediately administered an injection, which helped stabilize his breathing and prevented further convulsions.

The people around were stunned. They didn't expect Abella to handle the situation with such ease.

"So, you are Abella, who has been away for eighteen years and just recently returned." Carl observed the young girl in front of him. Her calm and composed demeanor, outstanding features, and resemblance to Mrs. Medici were striking.

It was evident that she was indeed a member of the Medici family.

"Yes," Abella said.

Receiving Abella's affirmative answer, Carl took deep breaths. He seemed to be greatly moved, but due to the injection Abella had given him, he didn't pass out.

He reached out his hand, holding Abella's hand with great difficulty.

"My child, you have suffered," Carl said weakly, but he held onto Abella's hand tightly, unwilling to let go. "It was our foolishness that led to your hardship. We didn't take enough care back then, which caused you to be lost and endure eighteen years of suffering."

"It's alright, everything is in the past now."

Abella's magnanimous attitude brought tears to Carl's eyes. "It's good that you have come back. We will make up for all the shortcomings of these years. It's just that we never expected such a cruel twist of fate."

Abella thought to herself that it had nothing to do with fate. If anyone was to blame, it was the big fire that happened back then, leading to the mix-up of three families.

But what exactly happened during that fire, and why hadn't she found any clues up to now? Who was obstructing everything behind the scenes?

It seemed necessary for her to quicken her pace and investigate thoroughly. "What about Lola?"

"Grandpa Medici, I'm here!" Lola hurried forward.

Carl reached out his hand again, grasping the girl's hand with difficulty. "My Lola."

He never imagined that the granddaughter he had cherished for eighteen years was not his biological granddaughter!

Looking at the beautiful, sensible, and obedient girl in front of him, Carl felt a mix of emotions. How could this be happening?

The members of the Medici family had truly treated this child as their own for eighteen years!

Now, to be told that she was not his biological granddaughter, Carl felt heartache, reluctance, and pain.

"Mom, Dad, and my dear sister have allowed me to stay in this family. Rest assured, I will always be your granddaughter and take care of you as you grow old."

Tears streamed down Carl's face. "Good, that's good. You stay, and I can see you every day."

Lola knew that Carl adored her, and her gaze softened. "In the future, you will not only see me every day but also see my sister. The two of us will get along well and accompany you and Grandma Medici."

"Good, good children." Carl wiped his tears and never expected the children to be so understanding.

Winslow, standing beside them, also wiped away her tears. Life worked in mysterious ways.

"Grandpa Medici, you have just recovered from a serious illness, so try not to get too emotional," Abella said as she handed him a cushion to lean on.

Carl's gaze fell back on Abella. "I heard from Winslow that you were the one who saved us."

"Not just me, both you and Grandma Medici waking up was also thanks to the efforts of the other medical staff. They took care of you both day and night, which led to this miracle."

Seeing that she was not someone who sought credit, Carl's fondness for her grew even more.

Winston looked at Mrs. Medici, seemingly asking, "What's going on? Why do they say Abella saved you and Grandpa Carl?"

"Abella is the miraculous doctor, Abbott Wilson. She provided the treatment plan and found the right medicine."
