Chapter 1096 Phillipe Arrives
The henchmen guarding the hostages were about to retreat when Abella swiftly grabbed one of them, snatched his knife, and decisively stabbed the drugged man in the head.
Lola, standing on the statue platform, laughed, seemingly amused by Abella's futile efforts.
"These drugged guys are the upgraded version. Hitting their heads won't do a thing."
In simple terms, their weakness wasn't there.
Seeing two drugged men moving mechanically towards Beckett and Kimberly, Abella quickly rushed to save them. She pushed the drugged men back several steps and slashed the ropes binding her parents with the knife.
Just as Beckett and Kimberly were freed, three more drugged men headed towards her grandparents, and another three towards the bodyguards tied to the pillars.
Abella couldn't save everyone at once.
Fortunately, Scorpion exchanged a glance with her and swiftly cut the ropes binding Carl and Winslow, protecting them behind him.
Since the drugged men were instructed to kill Carl and Winslow, they wouldn't attack Scorpion, thinking he was one of them.
Taking advantage of this, Abella ran to free the three bodyguards tied to the pillars, cutting their ropes with a single slash.
Seeing Scorpion and Abella standing shoulder to shoulder, protecting everyone behind them, Lola's expression turned from surprise to anger. "Scorpion, how dare you betray me?"
Scorpion looked at the girl on the statue platform coldly. "For years, I was loyal to your father, risking my life for him. But he secretly tortured my parents, making their lives worse than animals, and they died humiliated. Who should I hold accountable for that?"
Lola frowned. "Did Abella tell you this? She's trying to sow discord. You can't trust her!"
Her father would never do such a thing.
"Her words are far more credible than yours," Scorpion said, then quickly charged towards the statue platform.
Lola was furious. "If that's the case, you'll all go to hell together today!"
She ordered T-Rex and Night Hawk to teach Scorpion a lesson and commanded all the drugged men, "Kill them!"
Eight drugged men seemed to activate like machines, once again advancing towards Abella and the others.
"Abella, run! I'll hold them off. Please, listen to me," Kimberly pleaded, clutching Abella's clothes despite her fear.
Beckett also tried to shield Abella. "Don't worry about us."
He could buy a few seconds, and with Abella's speed, she could get far in those few seconds!
Abella protected them like a mother hen shielding her chicks, retreating step by step.
These eight drugged men were far stronger than them. Direct confrontation wasn't the solution; she needed to find their weakness.
If it wasn't the head, where could it be?
The leading two drugged men quickly punched towards Abella, while the other six targeted Beckett and Kimberly.
Abella had to deal with the fast and fierce attacks in front of her while trying to save the four people behind her, making it impossible to manage everything.
One of the drugged men grabbed Beckett's clothes, about to lift him up. Abella kicked towards him, but the drugged man in front of her took advantage of the moment, kicking her ten feet away, causing her to fall to the ground.
"Abella!" Her four family members immediately ran towards her, but Winslow, running slower, was caught by a drugged man.
Lying on the ground, Abella finally felt the terrifying torment Nash and Jace must have experienced before they died.
The kick to her stomach hurt several times more than usual, but seeing the drugged man lift Winslow and throw her towards them, Abella quickly moved to catch her, falling backward.
"Mom, Abella!" Kimberly was terrified, rushing towards them.
The drugged man threw Winslow with great force, causing Abella to fall to the ground again.
Winslow felt extremely guilty and anxious, as she was still on top of Abella but couldn't get up.
Carl and Beckett hurriedly helped her up.
The eight drugged men didn't give them any time to breathe, quickly approaching them again.
Abella pressed the button on her watch, notifying Sam and the others, then quickly got up to fight the eight drugged men.
Meanwhile, Scorpion charged towards the statue platform, intending to kill Lola, but Lola had T-Rex and Night Hawk protecting her. Scorpion, already injured by Sam earlier, was no match for them.
"My parents were killed by Jacob. Your families might have been too. Are you still going to foolishly serve her?"
Night Hawk and T-Rex, expressionless, protected Lola like emotionless robots, not allowing Scorpion to get close.
"She's doomed today. Do you want to die with her?"
Seeing no reaction from them, Scorpion had no choice but to fight them.
At the same time, Phillipe and Sam led a large group of people in, causing Lola's face to change. "Abella, you dared to call for reinforcements!"
She was furious, feeling betrayed. "Fine, if so many people want to die with you, then you'll all meet the Grim Reaper today!"
She pressed a button on her remote, causing the doors to close quickly. At the same time, drugged men started coming from different directions.
There were over twenty drugged men in total.
"Kill them," Lola ordered, and all the drugged men immediately attacked.
Phillipe and Sam's men, numbering around a hundred, pulled out their weapons and fired at the drugged men.
But the drugged men were impervious to bullets, their bodies like iron walls.
One by one, the bodyguards were lifted by the drugged men and thrown towards pillars and windows.
In the blink of an eye, over twenty bodyguards had fallen.
"Find a chance to get my family out," Abella instructed Sam.
"Don't worry, Ms. Medici, leave it to me!" Sam kicked a drugged man in front of him, but instead of knocking him down, he was lifted and thrown far away.
Abella wanted to save him, but four drugged men simultaneously attacked her. Phillipe blocked two, Abella handled one, and Quincy appeared to block the last one.
"Assist Sam in getting my family out," Abella ordered Quincy upon seeing him.
"Yes."
Quincy immediately went to protect Beckett, pushing back the drugged man threatening him.
A drugged man approached Kimberly, who picked up a knife from the ground, her hands trembling, and blindly slashed at him. The drugged man was unfazed, grabbing her clothes and lifting her up.
Kimberly was terrified. If Sam hadn't arrived in time, she would have been thrown against a pillar in the next second!
Seeing the bodyguards and henchmen they brought suffering heavy losses while the twenty drugged men remained unscathed, Sam was exhausted and breathless.
"Ms. Medici, this isn't working," Sam panted.
These drugged men were too strong; even he couldn't withstand them, let alone Abella with her delicate frame.
