Chapter 879 Dennis's Hobby?
"Why aren't they scared at all? They look like they're just out for a stroll after dinner." Louie was baffled. In the past, a few business partners had come to the island to discuss deals. Some had fainted at the sight of a leopard, and the leopard had to drag them to the villa's entrance for the security to carry them inside.
Others had screamed and run at the sight of a tiger, only to be pounced on by several tigers. The tigers didn't harm them but played with them, batting them around like a ball until they wet their pants. It took them days to recover.
One partner had tried to intimidate a tiger with loud noises and curses, but the tiger looked at him like he was an idiot. Eventually, he broke down and started crying, recounting his tragic and tumultuous life to the tiger.
But these buyers were calm and composed, a first for them.
"Send the hounds to greet them." Dennis wasn't referring to any of his men; he meant actual hunting dogs.
Theo followed Abella to the front of the villa, puzzled. "Ms. Medici, why aren't there any guards in the front yard?"
Instead, a group of hunting dogs lined up neatly, barking at them as soon as they appeared.
Compared to the tiger earlier, these dogs seemed ready for battle, poised to attack if they opened the door.
Suddenly, Abella made a sound, which transformed and elongated, as if she were communicating with the dogs.
Theo was stunned. Was Abella speaking to the dogs in their language?
He'd seen people do this online, but this was real life. Facing a pack of hunting dogs, it was the first time he'd seen someone try this.
Would it work?
Louie, watching the surveillance, was extremely nervous.
One second, the dogs were barking furiously at the strangers. Next, they split into two groups and sat quietly, looking obedient.
Dennis stopped petting the tiger, surprised that his well-trained dogs were showing such friendliness to strangers.
Theo's eyes widened in shock and admiration as he watched Abella push open the door and walk in calmly. He hesitated for a moment before quickly following her.
To his surprise, the dogs didn't attack them and remained seated obediently.
"Ms. Medici, how did you do that? What did you say to them? How do you know their language? Did they really understand?"
"I learned it from a friend," Abella glanced at him. "Want to learn?"
"Yes, yes, yes!" Theo nodded eagerly, thinking this could save his life. So he was desperate to learn.
"I'll teach you next time."
Abella entered the main villa, where two bodyguards blocked their path.
"You didn't even come out to greet us earlier. There were so many dogs outside. We're buyers here to discuss a deal. Could you show some sincerity?" Theo was frustrated.
The bodyguards remained silent and cold, gesturing for them to pass through the security gate.
Theo noticed how luxurious the security gate was. If not for the bodyguards' actions, he wouldn't have realized it was a security gate.
The gate beeped, and Theo handed over his weapons, keeping only a pack of gum.
He waved the gum at the gate, which didn't beep. "Can I keep the gum? I like to chew a couple pieces. Want some?"
The bodyguards didn't take it or respond, gesturing for Abella to step forward.
Abella handed over her backpack for inspection. She was clear, but her stun baton and needles were confiscated.
"Even needles count as weapons? Mr. Medici is really cautious." Theo said unpleasantly.
Even if someone brought weapons here, the beasts outside could easily tear them apart. Why confiscated a needle?
The bodyguards remained silent and cold, gesturing for them to proceed.
Theo was speechless but continued forward, marveling at the opulent decor. "Mr. Medici must be incredibly wealthy."
A small island home was this luxurious; imagine his other residences.
In the living room, Theo saw a small tiger approach him, startling him. "Ms. Medici, another tiger!"
Abella noticed the man sitting in the main seat of the living room, exuding a sinister aura.
Theo followed her gaze to the man on the sofa. 'Oh no, it is him?'
They had competed with him for Cruz last night. Now they were walking into a trap.
"It's you?" Dennis's tone was intrigued, as if things were getting more interesting.
Theo couldn't believe that man was Dennis. In this country, many things couldn't happen without Dennis's approval.
So, they had offended such an important figure.
He noticed Dennis petting a small tiger.
Another tiger stood before him and Abella, growling as if to intimidate them.
Theo's legs went weak again; he couldn't understand why Dennis kept tigers as pets. It was terrifying.
"You still dare to come here?" Louie couldn't believe his luck, ready to order their capture when Dennis spoke.
"Sit."
Abella sat across from him, and Theo nervously sat beside her.
"Mr. Medici told you to sit, and you really sat?" Louie couldn't believe their audacity to sit as equals with Dennis.
Theo was confused. Should they sit or not?
As he considered standing, Abella spoke, "Mr. Medici, do you want to discuss a deal while looking up at us? We can't even sit in a chair, and you want to talk business?"
"You..." Louie had always thought Abella was arrogant. Now, he was sure of it.
