"The real Go set's with Mr. Wodehouse, and now KnightStrategist herself says she never sent a Go set to Lola or mentored her. So, is Lola just lying to everyone? Treating us all like idiots?"
Everyone stared at Lola, totally shocked. No one expected the Medici family heiress to be a liar.
It was a real jaw-dropper.
"KnightStrategist does make Go pieces. She even made a set for me once," Clarence said, looking pretty pleased with himself.
Abella made it just for fun back then, but the moment he saw it, he had to have it.
Luckily, Abella was cool and handed it over right away.
That Go set was the first one Abella ever made by hand, and he still kept it locked up in his safe.
"Lola, say something!" Enid was getting all worked up.
"KnightStrategist, is she really your student or not?"
"Is there some beef between you two, or did you never mentor her at all? Is she lying?"
Everyone wanted answers from Abella.
Before Abella could say a word, Clifford grinned and said, "From what I know about KnightStrategist, she's usually swamped and doesn't have time to mentor anyone, let alone take on students."
Everyone was stunned again. Clifford's words made it clear that Lola was lying and that KnightStrategist never had the time to mentor her.
"She's from a rich family, and she lies?"
"Didn't see that coming. So vain."
"She didn't know KnightStrategist was right here and still tried to compete. How dumb."
Elsa, though shocked that Abella was KnightStrategist, felt a bit smug seeing Lola's embarrassment.
Among the crowd, the famous pro Go player Yasmine finally got why Abella never gave her a chance to learn or take her as a student. Abella was KnightStrategist!
With her skill level, how could she ever catch KnightStrategist's eye?
Manuel, the Secretary-General of the Go Association, felt his face burning. He had no clue Abella was KnightStrategist and even thought about adding her on WhatsApp to get closer.
Other guests who had asked Abella to mentor their kids also felt pretty embarrassed. They foolishly thought Abella would take their kids under her wing.
Abella was KnightStrategist, as famous as Clarence, and tonight Clarence even said KnightStrategist's skills were better than his.
How could such a master casually take on students or mentor others?
At this moment, Lola rubbed her forehead and weakly said, "Sorry, I'm not feeling well. I'll excuse myself."

"Needing someone else to apologize for her, Lola is really something."
Lola knew playing the pity card wasn't gonna work anymore. Even though she hated admitting she was beneath Abella, with everyone demanding an apology, she couldn't just walk away.
In the end, she bit her lip and walked up to Abella. "Sorry, I bragged in front of my friends. I didn't think one lie would cause so much trouble."
Lola's words shocked Enid. Everything Lola had said earlier was a lie. Claiming KnightStrategist as her teacher and the fancy Go set were all made up.
Enid thought, 'When did Lola become so vain? Has she changed, or did I never really know her?'
"Please forgive me," Lola sincerely apologized to Abella.
Abella saw right through her. "You sure made this birthday party lively."
Lola felt humiliated as she apologized.
As an heiress, this was the first time she had been so embarrassed in front of so many important people.
The worst part was that Henry was watching.
Henry didn't just stand there; he bowed along with her.
At this moment, Lola saw Clarence's feet next to Abella and felt a surge of anger.
Clarence had known all along that Abella was KnightStrategist, but he deliberately didn't say anything and let her compete with Abella, just to embarrass her in front of everyone.
Lola cursed in her mind, 'Clarence is so scheming. Even if Abella is his beloved junior, he didn't need to make me lose face. He even pretended to want to see who was more talented between us. He's too much! And that damn Elsa, stirring up trouble and making everyone think my Go skills were impressive.'
"Do you realize your mistake?" Abella asked casually.
Lola kept her head down. "Yes, I know. I shouldn't have claimed to be your student or made things up."
"Tonight is Mr. Wodehouse's birthday. Stay until the party ends before you leave." Everyone marveled at Abella's kindness upon hearing her generous words.
Only Lola knew that Abella wanted her to stay to make her even more embarrassed.
After all, she was already humiliated, but Abella insisted she stay until the party ended.
Who knew what else awaited her!
