Chapter 621 Snowy Night

"Alright, get some rest. I'm hanging up now." Vanessa sighed after ending the call. "Wish someone could give her a massage right now."

Inside the RV, Phillipe took off Abella's shoes and let her lie down on the bed. He covered her with a blanket and started massaging her arms. "Get some good sleep," he whispered.

Exhausted, Abella quickly fell asleep. In her dream, she heard a nurse saying Nicole and Clara were in critical condition. She was running back and forth in a long corridor, feeling dizzy.

Phillipe kept massaging her. She seemed to be having a bad dream, her eyebrows furrowed. "Abella," he gently stroked her face, "Don't be afraid. I'm here with you."

Her eyebrows relaxed as if she heard him. Phillipe continued massaging her hands and feet, knowing they must be sore from holding a scalpel and standing for so long.

Time passed slowly. When Abella woke up, she was still in the RV. "Are we there? Why didn't you wake me?"

"I wanted you to sleep longer," Phillipe said, still massaging her. "Look, it's snowing outside."

Snowflakes fell gently under the streetlamp in front of Phillipe's house. The RV had reached the house but hadn't driven in to avoid waking her.

"What time is it?" Abella asked.

Phillipe wrapped her in the blanket. "It's past four."

"I slept that long?"

"You were exhausted," Phillipe said softly, smoothing her hair. "Are you hungry? Let's eat something."

While she slept, Phillipe had the chef prepare food and bring it to the RV. There were over a dozen of Abella's favorite dishes kept warm.

"Stay wrapped in the blanket. It's cold," Phillipe said, picking up a fork. "I'll feed you."

Despite the heater, it was still cold. Abella wrapped herself in the blanket, only her head showing, looking adorable.

"You look good no matter what," Phillipe admired.

Abella laughed, watching him pick up the food. "Aren't your hands tired?"

"No, not at all. I could feed you for a lifetime," Phillipe said, feeding her bit by bit.

Abella suddenly remembered. "Did Winston call you?"

"Yeah, he told me to take care of you and said he'd call when Nicole wakes up."

Seeing Phillipe feeding her continuously, Abella asked, "Did you eat? Since this morning?"

Phillipe smiled. "I'm not hungry."

Abella picked up a fork and gave him a piece of beef. Phillipe was surprised but happily took a bite. "It's delicious when you feed me."

"Should I feed you more?"

"No, I can't bear to," Phillipe said, putting her hand back under the blanket. "You've had a long day."

"In the future, focus on your work and don't worry about me," Abella said, referring to Phillipe waiting for her at the hospital all day and night.

"What could be more important than you?" Phillipe looked into her eyes. "You didn't sleep, didn't eat, and worked in the operating room for twenty-one hours straight. I was worried about you."

"Worried I'd collapse?" Abella laughed. "I'm not a child; I know my limits."

"To me, you'll always be a child," Phillipe said, feeding her another bite. "But you carry a heavier burden than anyone else. Sometimes I wish you'd worry less about others and more about yourself."

"Isn't that what you're here for?"

"There are times when I can't be there."

Abella noticed his mood shift. "What's wrong?"

Phillipe remembered how she only drank a bottle of milk he handed her at the hospital. If he hadn't been there, would she have gone hungry for 21 hours? The thought made his heart ache.

"Nothing," Phillipe said, hiding his pain.

"Alright, I know you care about me," Abella smiled. "Today was a special case; it won't happen again."

"Your promises never come true."

She had promised before not to put herself in danger, not to get hurt, and to take care of herself so he wouldn't worry. But...

"Next time, no matter how busy you are, you can't go hungry."

"Okay."

After some time, Phillipe held her and watched the snow outside. The pure white snowflakes fell gently.

"I always feel like we've known each other for a long time," Phillipe said, breathing in the scent of her hair.

Their relationship felt as natural as a couple married for decades.

"I feel the same way," Abella said, looking at the snow. Having someone like this by her side added meaning to life, and it felt pretty good.

After a while, the RV parked in the garage. Phillipe draped a warm coat over her and carried her into the villa elevator.

This place, Skyline Villa, was bought by Phillipe to be close to Abella. It had a bedroom, walk-in closet, hot spring pool, and a lab just for her.

Phillipe carried her to the bedroom.

"I want to take a bath," Abella said.

Phillipe brought her clean clothes and prepared the bathwater before leaving with a few reminders.

Around five in the morning, the sky was still dark, but a ray of light had entered Abella's long-clouded heart.

Meanwhile, Winston had been by Nicole's bedside all night without sleeping. He hacked into the surveillance cameras around the incident area, gathering all the information and sending it to the police. He even found those hiding in the shadows.

Then he received devastating news. During police interrogation, someone confessed that over twenty people had violated Clara. Throughout the ordeal, Clara kept calling out one name: 'Winston.'

"Mr. Medici, rest assured, these people will be brought to justice."

Winston's eyes reddened, his fists clenched tightly, and his voice turned angry. "Have those twenty bastards been caught?"
