Chapter 750 Fortunately, It Didn't Spill

When the waiter dropped off the drinks, Lola couldn't even tell which glass was Abella's.

Abella stayed quiet, lost in her own world, making Lola more and more jittery.

Things got awkward, so Lola forced a smile and said, "Abella, whatever your family gives you, it's yours. You're part of this family. Me? I'm just lucky to get anything at all. I'm super grateful, no matter if you get more or better stuff."

Trying to sound more convincing, Lola added, "For the past eighteen years, everyone in the Medici family has treated me so well. It's touched me deeply. I've already gotten so much love and happiness that I didn't expect. I'm really content."

"Really?"

Abella's question made Lola nod like crazy. "Of course."

"Then let's toast." Abella stood up, holding the sketchy lemonade out to Lola. "Sharing my drink means I'll think of you and share more in the future. Even if it's just a glass of water, I'll try to let you have it."

"Abella." Lola started to get a bit nervous.

Abella poured herself another glass and clinked it with the suspicious lemonade. "I'll drink first."

Just as Lola was about to stop her, she saw Abella down the small glass of lemonade.

Her face immediately looked troubled. 'Does Abella know there's something off with the water and wants me to drink it? No way, Maria said this drug is undetectable. Is Abella just naturally suspicious, or does she really want to make peace? But I can't drink this. If I do, I'm toast.'

Abella turned the empty glass upside down, saying, "I finished it, now it's your turn."

"Abella, you care for me and even want to give me your water. As your younger sister, how could I be so greedy to take even a glass of water from you?" Lola reached for her own water.

Abella picked up the sketchy glass and brought it to her lips. "I'm giving it to you, which means you qualify to be my sister. If you don't want it, do you think what I'm giving is too simple, or do you not consider me family?"

Lola quickly said, "Abella, you misunderstood, I..."

"Then drink it already. If it gets cold, you'll feel uncomfortable, and I'll feel bad," Abella added, "Drink it, I haven't touched this glass yet."

Lola was in a tough spot.

Bonnie, on the side, had already noticed something. She didn't think Lola would be mean enough to drug the glass, but Abella never forced anyone.

There had to be something wrong with this water, which was why Abella wanted Lola to drink it.

"Lola, since it's Abella's heartfelt gesture, you should drink it." Bonnie also wanted to see if there was something wrong with the water and why Abella suddenly wanted Lola to drink it.

Lola added, "Aunt Bonnie. As the younger sister, I really can't compete with Abella for even a glass of water."

Mainly because drinking it would cause her a lot of trouble.

"Abella's giving it to you, which means she really sees you as family, ready to share the good and the bad. If you don't drink it, are you saying all that stuff you just said was BS?"

Hearing Bonnie's words, Lola was on the verge of tears. "Of course not."

Caleb, noticing Bonnie's weird behavior, started wondering if there was something up with the water.

David and Vanessa were just confused about why a glass of water was being passed around like a hot potato.

Abella added, "If Lola's got a problem with me being here and getting more gifts, I'll go tell Mom and Dad."

Lola was stuck and finally took a tiny sip, trying to keep it together.

Bonnie pretended to scold, "Abella finished her glass, and you just take a tiny sip? That's kinda disrespectful, don't you think?"

When Lola picked it up again, she suddenly had an idea and pretended to drop it.

Just as she was about to feel relieved, Abella caught it. "Good catch, didn't spill."

At this point, Lola felt like crawling into a hole.

"You two, passing a glass of water back and forth. Lola, just drink it so we can eat!" David was itching to dig into the crab roe. He loved it, feeling pure joy with each bite!

Vanessa, worried the food would get cold, smiled and said, "Lola, Abella's just trying to show she cares. Just drink it, no need to be so formal."

In the end, Lola had no choice but to drink the small glass of lemonade, tears welling up.

Maria had said the drug would kick in after an hour, so Lola didn't freak out right away. She even managed a sweet smile and some polite small talk.

But after a few bites of food, she couldn't hold it in and found a chance to message Maria, asking what to do.

This really threw Maria for a loop!

The drug she got had no antidote, which was its main selling point!

She had planned to use it on Abella, thinking even with Abella's medical skills, she wouldn't find an antidote and would have to suffer for twelve hours.

But she never thought it would backfire on Lola!

Maria: [Don't panic, I'll ask around. Trust me, we'll find a way!]

The meal was pure torture for Lola. After fifty-five minutes, she finally got a reply from Maria!

She opened it, hoping for a miracle, but saw three words: [No antidote available.]

She was utterly desperate.

As the meal wrapped up, Lola suggested everyone head back to rest. But halfway there, she felt like she was about to have a major bathroom emergency.

And it didn't stop there. She started seeing hallucinations. Even though she was in Caleb's luxury car, she saw everyone sitting on a giant mushroom.

A mushroom, the kind you could eat, but way bigger.

And it was floating.

"Lola, what's wrong?" Bonnie noticed something was off and asked softly.

"Nothing, just a sudden stomachache. Need to use the bathroom." Lola was almost at her limit.

"Did you eat some raw fish earlier? Maybe your stomach can't handle it? Now that you mention it, my stomach feels a bit off too." David touched his stomach, feeling a bit uneasy himself.
