Chapter 1001 Familiar Taste

"I made this dish for you called 'Prosperity Shrimp,' which is shrimp stuffed into clams. I hope it brings you wealth and good fortune in the new year," Winslow said.

Everyone applauded again.

Blake recorded the names of each dish and the blessings for Abella in a short video and posted it on his Stories.

Many friends who saw his Stories thought the beloved sister they were talking about was Lola. They sent WhatsApp messages to Lola, praising her for being so lucky to have such a loving family.

Whether it was the formidable businessman Steven or the superstar Blake with millions of fans, whether they were elders or peers, everyone was willing to step into the kitchen to cook for this young girl.

It showed just how much they adored her.

Lola watched the sunset in the garden until the sky turned dark.

"Lola, it's getting windy. Want me to push you inside?" Briar asked, bending down.

Lola nodded and took out her phone to check if Henry had messaged her about coming home for dinner. She suddenly realized her phone had been on silent mode, and she had over 99+ unread WhatsApp messages from friends.

[Lola, you're so lucky to have so many family members who care about you and spoil you.]

[It's clear your family loves you so much. Your Christmas must be so enviable.]

[Lola, your family atmosphere is amazing. I didn't know wealthy families like yours interacted so warmly and lovingly. It's so enviable.]

[Lola, I love your family. Your elders respect the kids' feelings and personally prepare surprises for you. That's something my family never does!]

Lola was puzzled by these messages. She realized that one of her brothers had posted Stories again.

Before she could open the Stories, more messages poured in.

[In my house, it's always the maids who cook. It's the first time I've seen such a wealthy family personally cook, each making a dish just to make you happy.]

[Your family's dishes are so creative, beautiful, and meaningful.]

[Hearing their heartfelt Christmas blessings for you, I'm so envious.]

[Why didn't you post any Stories today? You must be so immersed in the happiness that you didn't have time to post. I'm so jealous.]

Lola quickly opened the Stories. Five minutes ago, Blake had posted a short video, and an hour ago, he had posted a selfie.

After watching everything, she was speechless, her eyes welling up with tears.

She couldn't believe that everyone in the family would set aside their status to cook for Abella. Each person had a sincere and heartfelt smile when they spoke of their blessings for Abella.

Even when she was with the Medici family, she never received such treatment.

The cooks included not only her grandparents, but even Elsa had made a dish for Abella!

Just thinking about that wretch Elsa made Lola furious.

Previously, Elsa had always opposed her. She couldn't believe that as soon as she left the Medici family, Elsa started currying favor with Abella, even cooking for her.

The most shocking part was that the Medici family had invited Phillipe for dinner, and he had personally cooked two dishes!

[Lola, your fiancé is so good to you. He's rich, handsome, and he even cooks for you.]

[How did you win his heart? Teach me! You're our role model! We all want to learn from you!]

[I can't believe your fiancé not only makes money but also cooks, and his dishes look amazing.]

[Lola, you're the luckiest woman in the world!]

Lola closed her eyes, trembling with anger and sadness.

She had been kicked out of her home and would take two to three weeks to eat with a fork and spoon like a normal person again.

The scars on her forehead, chin, hands, and knees would require six months of laser treatments to fade.

Her broken leg would take about three months to heal, and her knee would need six months before she could stop using a wheelchair. To walk properly, she would need another three months of rehabilitation.

Ultimately, she would only regain seventy to eighty percent of her pre-injury functionality.

Even if she held a pen, she couldn't draw as well as before.

Her life felt like it had plunged into hell, filled with pain and suffering.

She had lost her beauty, her talents, her reputation, and her status.

Even her bank account was empty!

Meanwhile, Abella was being treated like a princess by the whole family!

How could she come to terms with this disparity?

Why did her former family treat her this way? Why did God treat her this way?

Was Lola destined to be trampled under Abella's feet for her entire life?

Was she destined to be inferior to Abella?

At Long Island Manor, Abella looked at the array of delicious dishes on the table, with each family member eagerly offering her food.

"Abella, try my dish," Carl said.

"Try mine first! Do you like it?" Winslow added.

"How about mine?" Others chimed in.

"Everyone, quiet down," Blake said, unable to hold back. "Let Abella try each dish slowly. Don't rush her."

"Yes, yes, let Abella eat slowly. Don't choke," Kimberly agreed.

Every time Abella took a bite, everyone held their breath, waiting for her feedback.

As long as she said it was delicious, the cook would be overjoyed and urge her to eat more.

"You all should eat too," Abella said, feeling uncomfortable with so many eyes on her. She believed meals should be enjoyed together.

"We'll eat after you finish tasting everything," The others insisted, eager to hear her reviews.

"The texture is rich, and the flavor is delicious. Uncle Caleb's dish is excellent in both appearance and taste."

"Aunt Bonnie's dish looks exquisite, with great color, aroma, and taste. It's delicious."

"Dad's dish has outstanding texture and flavor."

Abella gave each dish a light but positive review, making everyone smile with joy.

"Phillipe's two dishes are still left," Vanessa said, turning the lazy Susan to bring Phillipe's dishes in front of Abella.

Abella tried the first dish, feeling a lump in her throat.

Seeing her delay in speaking and sensing something was off, everyone exchanged worried glances, unsure of what was wrong.
