Chapter 1027 Attitude Changed

"Ms. Flores, you're still upset. How about we sleep on it and decide tomorrow?" Briar suggested, worried she might regret burning everything.

"I said burn it. Didn't you hear me? Or are you ignoring me too?" Lola snapped, her voice sharp with anger.

Briar quickly bowed his head. "I wouldn't dare."

Seeing Lola so furious, Briar had no choice but to call the bodyguards. They moved the items to an open area of the estate and doused them with gasoline.

Lola watched as her past memories were slowly consumed by the flames. Even her most prized awards turned to ashes, disappearing right before her eyes.

"Lola?"

Henry, who had rushed back, saw the raging fire and the items disappearing within it. He had a bad feeling. What had happened to Lola? What had upset her so much?

Lola, sitting in her wheelchair, watched everything from a distance, her expression numb.

"What happened?" Henry asked.

"Mr. Hall, you're finally back. Ms. Flores asked us to burn these things. She cried today," Briar explained what had happened.

Henry squatted in front of the wheelchair, his heart aching. "Lola."

"It's fine." Lola's eyes were filled with despair, but there was still a fire burning within them. "I just wanted to say goodbye to the past."

"Have you really thought it through? Let it go?" Henry knew better than anyone how important these things were to her.

"From now on, I am Lola Flores." Lola looked at the flames, her voice calm. "The past is ashes now. I need to start over."

"Alright." Henry gently placed his hand on her leg. "I'll start over with you."

That evening, her five brothers posted a new family photo on social media, along with pictures of Abella, causing a stir once again.

Many people flocked to their comment sections, leaving messages, liking, and sharing the posts.

Blake was the most popular.

Within minutes of his post, he received hundreds of thousands of comments and over a million likes and shares.

Most of the comments praised Abella, which made Blake very happy. As he scrolled through, he noticed a new trending topic: #Lola's Friends Expose#

He clicked on it and found out that Lola's former friends were coming forward to criticize her past behavior.

For instance, six months ago, Lola knew she wasn't the Medici family's biological daughter but still used their name to attend various events and squander their money.

She also told her friends that Abella was an orphan adopted by the Medici family and accused Abella of seducing her fiancé, Phillipe, and slandering her in various ways.

Seven or eight friends came forward with these stories, making Lola furious.

They used to flatter her when they benefited from her, but now that she was down, they were all kicking her.

Lola used the new phone number Henry gave her to register a new account and started cursing them in the comments.

[How can you insult your former friend like this? Have some decency!]

[With behavior like yours, who would dare be friends with you in the future?]

[When you were friends with Lola, you took advantage of her. Now that she's no longer the Medici family's daughter and has no value to you, you come out to kick her? How opportunistic!]

Lola's comments were quickly drowned out in the comment section, with most people praising Abella and belittling her.

Lola was livid.

"Stop looking at it." Henry gently took her phone away. "I know you're upset. Tomorrow, I'll take you shopping to relax."

The next morning, Henry accompanied her to the largest shopping mall in Empire Vista City. Before they even entered, he received a phone call.

"Dad."

Whatever the man on the other end said made Henry's expression troubled. He glanced at Lola and gently patted her shoulder, indicating he needed to take the call elsewhere.

Lola knew it was probably his family causing trouble again. Although she was deeply annoyed, she pretended to be gentle and nodded.

Henry walked to the side and spoke quietly, "I'll come over as soon as I'm done here."

The man on the phone seemed very angry. Henry's eyes showed a hint of complexity. He saw Briar pushing Lola's wheelchair, waiting nearby. Lola's back looked lonely, and he felt guilty for neglecting her recently.

"Dad, I said..."

The man on the phone interrupted him, scolding him harshly. Henry could only hold back and say, "I understand."

After the call ended, Henry composed himself and walked back to Lola. Before he could speak, Lola spoke first. "If you have something to do, go ahead. Briar can stay with me."

Henry felt even more guilty hearing her say that. "Lola..."

"It's okay. We have a lifetime together. If you can't be with me this time, you can make it up to me next time." Lola said gently, "Kneel down."

Henry knelt beside her.

The next second, Lola kissed him. "Don't worry about me. I'll go home after shopping."

Henry's mood instantly brightened.

"Briar, let's go."

Briar, seeing their sweet interaction, smiled and pushed the wheelchair. "Mr. Hall, don't worry. I'll take good care of Ms. Flores."

"Call me if anything comes up." Henry watched them leave, reminding them.

"Okay."

The mall was playing festive music, and the atmosphere was cheerful.

Briar pushed Lola to the floor, directory and let her choose a store.

"Let's go to the one on the second floor." Lola chose RY, a famous jewelry store on the second floor.

Briar pushed Lola to the entrance of RY. Just as a sales associate walked by, Lola was about to call her name when the associate quickly looked away and pretended to be busy inside the store.

"Azalea." Lola was a bit displeased but still asked gracefully, "Didn't you see me?"

The sales associate, Azalea Gray, turned around, surprised to see the person in the wheelchair. "Ms. Flores? Sorry, I didn't notice you. With your hat and sunglasses, I didn't recognize you at first."

Lola noticed her tone wasn't as friendly as before and felt even more dissatisfied. "Do you have any new arrivals?"

"We do..." Azalea looked her up and down, hesitating. "But we have a VIP coming soon, and the manager asked us to close the store for them. I'm afraid you won't enjoy shopping here. Maybe you could check out another store first?"

"Azalea, I remember you didn't have this attitude when I came here before."
