Chapter 698 A Different Woman

Bonnie cracked up.

Earlier, she caught Bradley saying Abella had pinned someone on a dining table and dumped two bottles of red wine on her face.

"That must be my niece. You gotta teach her a lesson so she won't mess with you again!" Bonnie shot a cold look at Bradley. "My niece is being too soft. Now, get your crew and scram!"

"Thanks, Mrs. Harris and Ms. Medici, for cutting us some slack. I'll tighten up the management and make sure this never happens again! We've replaced your dishes. Enjoy your meal. It's on the house today, and from now on, whenever Mrs. Harris or Ms. Medici come, it's always half off!" Bradley bowed and backed off.

"Abella, you waited for me and didn't eat much, huh?" Bonnie said. "Eat up. It's the first time I'm taking you out, and I can't let you go hungry."

Meanwhile, Lola stormed out of the restaurant and stood by the flower bed downstairs, waiting for Henry's driver to pick her up.

"How long has it been? Do I still have to wait? I'll give you five more minutes. If you're not here by then, you're fired! I'll have Henry can you on the spot!" Lola snapped and hung up. 'Damn it, even if it's snowing and there's traffic, how long could it take?'

In her current state, no taxi driver would let her in. Standing in the cold, with snowflakes falling like crazy, she was shivering so much her teeth were chattering, and her whole body was trembling.

The worst part was her clothes were soaked, and the wind made her shiver even more.

After cursing Abella a million times in her head, suddenly a cloth bag was thrown over her, and she was dragged into a nearby alley.

"Who are you guys? Why are you grabbing me? Did Abella send you? Let me go! Do you know who I am? You'll regret this!" Lola yelled.

Leon glanced at his crew and signaled she was the one. They started punching and kicking the bag.

Leon was someone Bonnie had brought in from Alexis and didn't know Lola's identity or her connection to Caleb. He only knew she had pissed off Bonnie and needed a lesson.

At first, Lola was still cocky, but after a while, she started crying and begging for mercy.

"Stop hitting me, please! Who sent you? How much did they pay you? I'll give you double, even ten times more!" Lola desperately protected her face. Maybe fearing they didn't understand Libertya's language, she repeated her plea in broken Verdania.

Leon was speechless at her desperation.

Back in the restaurant, Bonnie and Abella were chatting and laughing when Bradley suddenly came over and said, "Mrs. Harris, someone over there is looking for you. They said they have something to report."

Bonnie glanced at her guy Dwayne in the distance and said with authority, "Let him in."

"Yes." Bradley signaled with his hand.

Several waiters immediately made way.

The guy quickly came to Bonnie and bowed at a ninety-degree angle.

"Ms. Rojas, I'm so happy to see you back." His voice was choked with emotion.

"Alright, enough with the mushy stuff. What's up?" Bonnie's tone was always straightforward and crisp.

Seeing her with those curly locks, red lips, and flawless makeup, as cold and flashy as ever, Dwayne got all choked up. 'Bonnie being alive is all that mattered. But who’s this chick sitting across from her? Is it cool to talk shop with a stranger here?'

"Stop staring. She's my niece. You can talk freely." Bonnie's mix of beauty and authority was something else.

Dwayne snapped his gaze back.

Even though he had no clue when Bonnie got a niece, if Bonnie said she was cool, then she was cool.

Dwayne started his report, "Ms. Rojas, while you were gone, all nineteen of your companies have been running smoothly. Mr. Harris didn’t meddle. He said you trusted us, so he left everything to us. The net profits are still being deposited into your account every month. Have you seen them?"

"I have." Bonnie smiled, clearly pleased. "They've gone up."

"All thanks to you, Ms. Rojas! It was your vision and planning that set the course. We just followed your lead."

It showed Bonnie's initial ideas were spot on. The nineteen companies were killing it, earning mad respect from industry insiders.

"Weren't you afraid I wouldn't come back?" Bonnie asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Ms. Rojas, each of these nineteen companies was built by you with us. We didn’t rely on Mr. Harris or anyone else! Just for that reason alone, even if you didn’t come back, we would keep running the companies and depositing the net profits into your account every month until the day we die. Plus, we just figured you were taking a break and traveling. From the day you disappeared until now, not a single employee has left. Everyone’s been waiting for you!"

Bonnie knew her crew was loyal. Her eyes were filled with gratitude and emotion. "Everyone’s worked hard. I'll have the finance department issue an extra year's salary to thank everyone for their dedication."

"Ms. Rojas, you're too kind. This is our duty!" Dwayne said, pulling out a stack of reports from his bag. "Ms. Rojas, while you were gone, here are the monthly data and developments of the nineteen companies. It's too much to explain over the phone. Please review them at home."

Looking at the pile of reports, Bonnie didn’t need to think to know how much effort everyone had put in to get these results.

The financial report for the top month alone was impressive.

"I'll review them and then discuss it with you."

"Alright, I won’t keep you and the young lady from your meal any longer. I'm really happy to see you back safe!"

Bonnie laughed. "You've said that more than once."

Dwayne didn’t expect to get so chatty. He smiled and backed off, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Abella hadn’t expected Bonnie to build nineteen companies without leaning on Caleb’s influence. Plus, the employees were so loyal they kept working for her even when she was gone.

No wonder she was so confident and assertive, with that cold and flashy vibe. With such a career backing her, she naturally exuded an aura of self-confidence and independence.

Having an aunt who was so independent, financially secure, and full of ideas was not only her fortune but also her uncle's.

One could only say that Caleb was truly lucky to have married such a woman.
