Chapter 579 Stay
Kimberly was pretty shocked when she heard that.
James never gave stuff away easily, especially valuable herbs.
He must really admire Abella to be so generous.
So, had Abella already won James' approval and affection?
Kimberly was happy but a bit puzzled. "Abella, why do you need Piercing of Heart?"
"Someone close to me is sick and needs this herb," Abella said, not mentioning Nicole, leaving it for Winston to explain to their parents.
"Abella, have you checked on your grandmother? Is her condition serious?" Beckett asked, concerned.
James smiled warmly. "Abella has already prescribed the first three days of medication. If all goes well, Mom should fully recover in one to three months."
"Really?" Beckett and Kimberly were thrilled, knowing Abella would have a solution.
"I knew it, no illness can stump you. Even the worst patients get better in your hands," Beckett said with a smile, only to get pinched on the thigh by Kimberly.
He almost cried out, realizing he had misspoken. Looking at Abella, she seemed to recall past events, a fleeting sadness in her eyes.
Beckett quickly apologized, "I meant to say, your medical skills are exceptional. There's nothing you can't handle. I was trying to compliment you."
"It's okay." Abella smiled faintly and thought, 'It's been so long; feeling sad again will only make Madam in heaven feel heartache.'
"Your father is just happy because your grandmother's illness had seen many doctors without improvement. Luckily, you have a way!" Kimberly quickly held Abella's hand and said gently, "You've done great. For every patient, you've done your best and have a clear conscience."
James speculated that Abella must have had someone she couldn't save before, someone very important to her, which was why Beckett and Kimberly were so careful about her emotions.
But even someone with the title of Medical Authority, Abbott, had people she couldn't save?
How desperate and heartbroken she must have been.
Because she had reached that pinnacle, if even she couldn't save them, other doctors would be even more helpless.
That kind of despair was like falling into a bottomless black hole, with no one to pull her out.
Abella had to bear such pain at a young age.
"Abella, your parents will be staying at the Harris Manor for a few days. Why don't you stay too, at least meet your grandmother before you leave?" James invited sincerely.
"Yes, stay with us for a few days and meet your grandmother," Kimberly agreed. "I also hope you can stay."
"You mentioned you had other things to do. See if you can arrange it, even if it's just for one or two nights." James liked Abella very much and wanted more time to spend with her, to find opportunities to be kind to her.
"It's rare for you to come, and it's such a coincidence that we met. This is fate," Beckett said with a smile, also hoping Abella would stay. "We can leave together then."
Abella thought for a moment and nodded. "Okay."
"Great," James said happily, calling the butler over and whispering a few instructions. Soon, the butler appeared with all the household servants in neat rows.
James called Abella over, exuding the air of a family head, and introduced her seriously to the dozens of servants. "This is my niece Abella. Treat her as you would treat me, with full dedication."
"Yes, Mr. Harris," the servants bowed in unison, then respectfully greeted Abella. "Ms. Medici."
"Hello." Abella faced the servants without a hint of fear, her presence commanding the room.
James could see Abella's future would be extraordinary. Even at a young age, her aura was strong.
He patted her shoulder affectionately. "Abella, this is your home now. Come anytime."
"Thank you, Uncle James."
"Abella, we're family, no need to be polite," James said, then had the largest room prepared for her. He went to find Kimberly and Beckett to learn more about Abella.
In her room, Abella called Rodolfo and explained what had happened.
Rodolfo chuckled. "Abella, this is fate. Meeting your uncle and saving your grandmother—family will always reunite."
Abella found the connection amazing. No wonder she felt a sense of familiarity with James.
Rodolfo added, "Don't worry about Nicole. I'm researching it and will have a solution soon."
With Piercing of Heart, the rest wouldn't be a problem.
"Thank you, Mr. Wilson."
"Abella, it's no trouble. I'm old and need something to do. Stay with your family for a few more days. You often disappear for months when you're busy. Your uncle won't see you often in the future." Rodolfo laughed heartily.
Abella chatted with him for a few more minutes before hanging up.
James had arranged for her room to take up half of the third floor, with a great view and beautiful scenery.
Standing on the balcony, Abella saw her parents and James still chatting below.
The wind lifted her long hair, and Aimee, bringing in toiletries, was stunned by the sight.
Abella was truly beautiful and graceful.
Her fresh and refined aura made it impossible to look away.
Noticing someone behind her, Abella turned to see the enthusiastic short-haired servant.
"Ms. Medici, you are so beautiful," Aimee said happily as she put down the toiletries. "Knowing you are Mr. Harris' niece, I was overjoyed. I'm your servant Aimee. If you need anything, just let me know."
"Aimee," Abella repeated gently, "Thank you."
"Ms. Medici, you're too kind. From the moment I saw you, I liked you very much! Your medical skills are superb, and you're so beautiful, completely different from other young ladies," Aimee mustered the courage to ask, "Can I take a picture with you?"
Abella smiled lightly and nodded.
In the photos, Abella's elegance and flawless features were stunning, even with just a slight smile.
Next to her, Aimee's bright smile made her look like the girl next door.
