Chapter 824 She is Summer
"Thank you. At my age, it's about time to get engaged. My boyfriend has been pushing for it because he's worried I might get tempted being around all these celebrities every day, haha," Brenda laughed. "Especially that one time when he saw Phillipe greeting me, Blake buying me food, and all those young stars joking around with me. That very night, he got down on one knee and proposed, haha."
Abella laughed, instantly understanding Brenda's boyfriend's feelings.
"You must come to the engagement party! Even though we just met today, I really like you. Oh, by the way, did you come to see me about something? Are you asking if Blake drank the tea? He did, and he was very happy to hear it was from you."
"It's not about the tea," Abella smiled. "Kiki mentioned you have masks."
"Yes, Summer is coming soon. She never shows her face when she makes an appearance, so Kiki asked me to prepare a mask for her. Wait, how did you know Kiki messaged me on WhatsApp?"
Abella smiled silently.
"Do you know Kiki? Or maybe you know Summer? It seems like quite a coincidence. One moment I tell you Eliza can't make it because of a scandal, and the next moment Summer says she'll come. It must be you, right? You really helped Blake out!"
At that moment, Abella's phone rang. It was a video call from Kiki.
"Kiki," Abella greeted warmly as she answered.
"Summer, I've asked Brenda to prepare a beautiful mask for you. Just find her backstage to get it. She also has stylists and makeup artists, and there are guest dresses available. I'm still abroad and can't make it back in time. Will you be okay on your own?"
"No problem," Abella replied.
"Thank you so much. I'll catch up with you once I'm done here."
"Sure."
Brenda stood there, stunned and speechless.
"Oh, are you backstage? Have you met Brenda? Let me talk to her." Kiki added.
Abella handed the phone to Brenda.
Brenda wasn't sure how she took the phone, but even after Kiki finished speaking, she was still in a daze, unable to believe that Abella was Summer.
The key point was that even Blake didn't know Abella's true identity.
"Brenda, did you hear what I said?" Kiki's voice came through the phone.
"Yes," Brenda snapped back to reality. "I remember everything you said. We have plenty of masks and dresses for Summer to choose from. If she's not satisfied, we have stylists who can make adjustments on the spot."
"As for makeup and hair, Blake's makeup artist and hairstylist are available. I'll also instruct all backstage staff to keep everything about Summer confidential. After her performance, security, and transportation will be arranged to ensure she leaves without any disturbances."
"Summer is here alone, so I'm concerned," Kiki said.
"Don't worry, I'll stay by her side. I'll make sure she has something to drink if she's thirsty and something to eat if she's hungry. I'll take good care of her." Brenda replied.
"Thank you. I'll treat you to a meal when I get back."
"No need to be so formal, Kiki. I should be the one thanking you for your help."
"It was Summer's idea to collaborate with you all. It's a first for her. If you want to thank someone, thank her. Bye now."
After hanging up, Brenda looked at Abella in shock. "Thank you, Summer. I mean, Abella. Should I call you Summer or Abella now? You're amazing. I thought you knew Kiki or Summer, but it turns out you are Summer."
She looked Abella up and down again. The figure really did resemble Summer's. How did she not notice this from the start?
"Where are the dresses?" Abella asked with a gentle smile.
"Over here." Brenda handed back the phone and led her to the wardrobe area. "These are some custom-made dresses for female guests. You're so slim; they'll definitely fit you."
Abella's eyes fell on the beautiful dresses, and she finally picked up an elegant light blue gown. The exquisite handmade flowers and intricate embroidery made her look like a mermaid from the sea, noble and graceful, ethereal and fairy-like.
Brenda was stunned by how stunning she looked in the dress. "You look amazing. This dress seems tailor-made for you."
Abella felt satisfied with the look. "Do you have any hair ties?"
"Yes, wait a moment. I'll call the hairstylist and makeup artist."
"No need." Abella simply pinned up her long hair, making her look even more radiant.
Brenda quickly took out her phone and secretly snapped a photo of her, planning to keep it as a memento for Blake.
"What about the mask?" Abella asked, her casual glance back making her look even more breathtaking.
Brenda was internally screaming at how beautiful she was and then brought over a box. "They're all in here."
Abella chose a beautiful blue mask. Once she put it on, she looked even more like a princess from the sea, elegant and graceful, with a captivating aura.
"You look stunning," Brenda genuinely admired.
Even with the mask on, revealing only her clear eyes, Abella's beauty was still heart-stirring.
Her beauty radiated from within, making it palpable to anyone around her. It was surprising how she could look so beautiful without any makeup.
"Almost time," Abella checked the time, ready to go on stage.
"I forgot to get you shoes. What size do you wear? Do you want high heels or flats?" Brenda hurried to get the shoes.
"No need," Abella had no intention of changing shoes. She was already tall, and the long dress perfectly covered her canvas shoes.
"Follow me then. The lift will take you down to the stage from above," Brenda said, then paused to ask, "Are you afraid of heights? If so, you can rise from below the stage."
"I'm fine."
"Let me take you up then." Brenda helped her with the dress as they took the elevator to the stage's upper level. She helped her onto the lift. "I'll have the giant screen display an ocean scene. From the audience's perspective, you'll look like a mermaid emerging from the sea. You can add some movements to enhance the effect."
Brenda then realized her words might be redundant. Abella was Summer, after all. She surely knew how to present the best stage effect better than an assistant like her.
