Chapter 1101 Encirclement
Abella nodded, unable to lean back in her chair because of the wound on her back. She could only sit slightly sideways, feeling a bit relieved.
Meanwhile, Long Island Manor was engulfed in thick black smoke.
Servants and bodyguards were scrambling to put out the fire. Luckily, after Lauren became the housekeeper, she had Kimberly buy a bunch of firefighting equipment, thinking it was smart to have extra for such a big place. Turned out to be a lifesaver.
Someone tried calling Beckett and Kimberly, but neither picked up. So, they called Abella. "Ms. Medici, there's a fire at home, in the basement."
Fortunately, the basement was in a separate building from the main house, and with all the firefighting gear, the fire was quickly put out, leaving just heavy smoke.
When Abella got home, she found the family doctor, Isaac Lowe, already there.
Kimberly had called him.
She thought Abella was hurt and figured it was too much to treat the wound herself, so she called for backup.
"My injury isn't serious. Please check on them first," Abella told Isaac, wanting him to look at her grandparents and parents.
But everyone insisted that Isaac treat her first.
Eventually, Abella gave in and let Isaac tend to her wound.
Beckett and Kimberly had minor injuries, but Phillipe's back wound was worse.
After Isaac bandaged Abella's wound, Abella went to bandage Phillipe's.
Isaac applied medication to Beckett and Kimberly and then checked on Carl and Winslow.
The deputy head of the bodyguards came over to report what happened.
"Tonight, a group suddenly broke into Long Island Manor. Our people found them, and a fight broke out. Shortly after, the basement caught fire. We were busy fighting the fire, and those people disappeared, probably escaped," The bodyguard said, sounding a bit guilty for not catching anyone.
If Abella had been there, she wouldn't have let them get away!
"It's okay," Abella said calmly. "My people are ambushed outside; they probably caught them already."
She had previously instructed Ernest to have people ambushed around Long Island Manor, waiting for this day.
Tonight, Carl, Winslow, Beckett, and Kimberly were kidnapped, and she had to rescue them. With her five brothers not at home, it was the perfect opportunity for an attack.
She took out her phone and called Ernest. Sure enough, Ernest said they had just captured the intruders after a long chase.
"Ms. Medici, I'll bring them to Long Island Manor right away," Ernest said proudly.
"Good job," Abella praised.
After ending the call, she tapped her phone. "I installed micro surveillance in the basement."
She projected the surveillance footage onto the TV screen. Around ten o'clock, a group of people broke into the basement, each wearing black masks and casual clothes.
They seemed to be searching for something, kicking open door after door, but every room was empty. They didn't find who they were looking for and made a phone call, reporting, "Jacob isn't here; every room is empty."
The person on the phone seemed to instruct them to leave. After the call, they set the basement on fire and quickly fled.
"They were after Jacob," Kimberly realized. "They thought Jacob was still alive. So, the person who forced Jacob to take poison wanted to bring him back or kill him here. Jacob must have something on that person!"
"This also means that the person has been secretly watching us. It's terrifying," Beckett remarked.
"By the way, Ms. Medici, Henry asked me to give you this phone," Tony finally remembered and handed the phone to Abella.
The phone had been cracked by Marc, revealing Jacob's final message to Lola and everything related to the mastermind, projected onto the TV screen.
Everyone was shocked and deeply saddened.
Meanwhile, Elsa was sleeping soundly when she was awakened by urgent knocking. Rubbing her sleepy eyes, she opened the door, annoyed. "What's with the knocking? It's the middle of the night. Can't people sleep?"
"Ms. Elsa Medici, hurry up!" The nanny, Linda, grabbed her arm, ready to leave, then remembered something and pulled her back. "Grab your passport, jewelry, and other valuables."
"What's going on?" Elsa asked impatiently. "It's so late. What's happening?"
Linda didn't have time to explain. She dragged Elsa to the safe, urging her, "Quick, enter the password. Something big happened. If we don't leave now, it'll be too late. Hurry!"
It was the first time Linda spoke to Elsa in such a tone, giving Elsa a sense of foreboding. She entered the password but pressed the wrong number.
Linda was frantic. "Everyone's ready, just waiting for you. Hurry!"
Elsa tried again, but pressed another wrong number.
Finally, on the third attempt, the safe beeped and opened.
Linda quickly stuffed everything into a bag and pulled Elsa to run. "What's going on? I'm still in my pajamas."
Not only was she in pajamas, but she was also barefoot, running on the cold, icy floor.
"Ask Mr. Medici and Mrs. Medici. Something big happened, and we're all going abroad to lay low."
As Linda dragged Elsa towards the helipad, she saw her parents and sister also rushing with their belongings.
It was the first time she saw her parents and sister so panicked.
A servant ran towards them, shouting, "Mr. Medici, Mrs. Medici, it's bad. They've broken in with people."
"Run!" Margaret grabbed Elsa's hand.
Elsa had no idea what was happening.
As they ran up the plane's stairs, five handsome young men had already surrounded the plane.
"Where are you going so late, Uncle and Aunt?" Steven's voice made the family's hearts sink.
He signaled his men, who began pouring gasoline on the runway, ready to ignite at any moment.
Ethan raised his hand, and the others drew their weapons, aiming at the family.
Winston smirked, "Uncle and Aunt, long time no see. It'd be a shame if there was an accidental discharge."
Dennis toyed with a grenade, "Abella gave me this. Wonder how powerful it is."
Blake smiled, "Why don't you come to our place for a chat and some coffee, Uncle and Aunt? And bring your two daughters too."
