Chapter 891 So You Lost It?

"Did you just hang up on me?" Kimberly was livid and called back immediately.

Louie glanced at Dennis, who was still resting in the ward, and reluctantly stepped into the hallway to answer the call, bracing himself for the inevitable scolding.

"Dennis isn't answering his phone, and now you won't either. Not only that, you hung up on me! You guys have been out there so long, you think you can just hang up on me now?" Kimberly scolded.

"Mrs. Medici, it wasn't me who hung up. The phone... it fell on the ground..."

"Well, Louie, you've been with Dennis for years and haven't learned anything useful, just how to shirk responsibility. I swear, you guys are trying to drive me crazy."

Louie tried to soothe her, "Mrs. Medici, please calm down."

"I can't calm down, I'm furious right now." Kimberly had been trying to reach Dennis for six months. During that time, Dennis either didn't answer, didn't respond to messages, or made excuses. He was completely MIA.

"Everyone else has come back to see their sister, but not Dennis! Louie, you need to give me a straight answer. What are you guys so busy with? Is Dennis coming home for Easter or not?"

Louie trembled, "Mrs. Medici, I can't predict Mr. Medici's whereabouts..."

"Then tell me where he is now. Give me an address, and I'll go find him myself. He hasn't been home for six months, doesn't care about this family, doesn't care about us, and doesn't even care about his sister coming home."

"Mrs. Medici, you can hit me instead. I'm more durable."

"Just you wait, I'll hit you both!"

Louie was terrified.

"I'm asking you one last time, where is Dennis?" Kimberly's voice was genuinely angry, not something that could be brushed off with a few words.

Louie could hear Beckett's voice in the background.

Beckett was trying to calm Kimberly down, "Honey , don't get yourself worked up. Easter is coming, and we need to throw a grand Easter party for our precious daughter. You've been so stressed lately, you get dizzy and can't stand up straight."

Kimberly vented her frustration, "Dennis is being ridiculous. I've called him so many times, sent so many messages, and he either brushes me off or doesn't respond at all. And Louie is just as bad!"

Louie realized Kimberly was determined to have Dennis come home this time.

Just then, there was a slight noise from the ward, indicating Dennis had woken up.

Louie knocked on the door urgently and mouthed, "Mr. Medici, it's Mrs. Medici!"

Dennis had just woken up and saw Louie's exaggerated expression, not knowing what he was doing.

His eyes turned cold. "Looking for trouble?"

Louie remained silent.

"Is Dennis with you?" Kimberly heard the commotion and angrily ordered, "Put him on the phone!"

Louie could only give Dennis a sympathetic look and handed over the phone.

Dennis saw the caller ID and shot Louie a warning glance.

Louie felt helpless, thinking that it was Dennis who had exposed himself.

Seeing Dennis still hooked up to an IV, Louie put the phone on speaker.

"Dennis, I know you can hear me. Your sister's been home for six months, and you haven't come back to see her, haven't cared about her, haven't sent her a single gift. Easter's coming, and we're going to announce her identity to all our friends and family. You need to come back, do you hear me? If I don't see you in the next two days, don't bother coming home, don't call yourself a Medici, and don't call me Mom!"

Louie heard Beckett on the other end trying to calm Kimberly down, "Honey, you can scold him, but don't get yourself worked up. Sit down, take a deep breath."

Seeing Kimberly so angry, Louie couldn't explain that Dennis had finally found a lead on the fire, and the lead was abroad, and they were close to uncovering the truth.

He could only say, "Mrs. Medici, it's not that Mr. Medici doesn't want to come back, he's... sick. He just had surgery and is still on an IV..."

"What? Sick? When did this happen? Is it serious? Why did he need surgery? Why is he dealing with this alone? Why didn't you tell me?"

"Mr. Medici is very considerate, he didn't want you to worry..."

"You kept it from me, and now I'm even more worried!"

"The surgery is over, and Mr. Medici is recovering well; he just needs time to rest."

"Dennis, you can rest at home! Your sister is an excellent doctor, she's famous as Abbott. She cured your grandparents and your great-grandparents."

Before Kimberly could finish, Dennis asked, "What did you say?"

Louie was stunned, thinking he had misheard, "Mrs. Medici, did you say Abbott?"

"Yes!" Kimberly said over the phone, "You haven't been home, so I didn't tell you much. Her medical skills are incredible, she even cured Mr. Bourbon!"

"Does she look a bit like you, with smooth skin and long hair?" Dennis asked urgently.

"Of course, she's my child, she looks like me!"

Dennis seemed incredulous and asked, "Is she very aloof, with a bad temper?"

"What bad temper? Your sister is adorable!"

Dennis asked again, "Is she good at fighting?"

"What are you talking about? Your sister is gentle and sweet! She's not a violent person. I can't believe the way you imagine her. What kind of descriptions are these?"

"You said she's Abbott?" Dennis's heart felt tight.

"Yes, and she's not just Abbott, she's also the famous Cordelia. You saw the Christmas gift she sent you, her artwork is better than the world-renowned paintings we have at home!"

Dennis's mind went blank. So, the things Steven handed over were so precious.

Dennis immediately ended the call and told Louie to contact the club manager to ask him where that painting went.

It was a painting his sister had made for him, but he hadn't even looked at it.

As soon as the call connected, Dennis couldn't wait and grabbed Louie's phone. "Where's the painting I left behind?"

The club manager was shocked to hear Dennis himself, "You... you said you didn't want it. I reminded you that night that you forgot your things."

"So you threw it away?" Dennis's voice was filled with rage.
