Chapter 675 The Power Went Out
The mountaintop restaurant was just one floor, but man, those big glass windows made it look all fancy and stuff. Every table had a killer view of the night sky.
No VIP rooms here, so Caleb snagged a window seat. When Abella wrapped up her call and walked in, he handed her the tablet. "You pick."
Abella skimmed the menu, packed with all the famous eats. "Uncle Caleb, you got any food restrictions?"
"Nah, I can chow down on anything," Caleb said.
She ordered a few dishes and then got back to texting.
Ten minutes later, the food started rolling in.
Caleb watched Abella dig in, no rich-girl fussiness, just pure enjoyment. His gaze softened.
'She's really something else,' he thought.
"Eat up," Caleb grinned, piling more food on her plate.
"Sir, Miss, all your dishes are here. Enjoy." The waiter bowed and bounced after serving the last dish.
Caleb looked at Abella, a bit surprised. "Just these few dishes?"
Seemed kinda light.
Abella shrugged. "Can't finish it all, it'd be a waste."
Caleb chuckled. Just as he reached for the tablet, Abella stopped him. "Uncle Caleb, seriously, we can't finish it. We can come back for the rest another time."
"This is the first meal I'm treating you to, no matter what." Caleb hadn't even finished his sentence when the whole place went pitch black.
"Power outage?"
"Why does this place always lose power?"
"With these prices, can't they fix the power?"
Guests were grumbling.
Abella heard a whoosh by her ear and dodged just in time to see a shiny dagger coming at her.
"Abella, watch out!"
In the dark, a bunch of dudes in black, with masks and daggers, lunged at Abella. She grabbed a chair to block them, chucked it at them, and wrapped two of them up in a tablecloth.
Stuff crashed to the floor, freaking out the other guests. "What's going on?"
Abella grabbed a fallen dining knife and used it as a weapon. She slashed through the tablecloth, and a red gash appeared.
"Abella." Caleb threw his chair, nailing the guy behind her. But more bad guys were coming at him. He turned to see several men in black, short blades ready, attacking him.
Guests were losing it, hiding in corners. In the moonlight, they could barely make out a man and a woman fighting off a dozen black-clad attackers.
"Who are they? What's happening?" A guest, shaking, pulled out their phone and turned on the flashlight. The men in black went nuts and threw a dagger right at the guest!
The guest went pale with fear.
In a flash, Abella grabbed a plate and threw it, knocking the dagger away, saving the guest.
More men in black went after Abella. She moved like lightning, using the dining knife to take down three of them in seconds.
Caleb was stunned by how fast and fierce she was, reminding him of Boss A, someone he met years ago in another place.
Both her stance and moves felt oddly familiar.
Just then, another shiny knife came at Caleb. He quickly countered, holding the knife to the attacker's neck, and coldly asked, "Who sent you?"
More men in black rushed at Caleb. Seeing they weren't backing down, Caleb fought back hard.
Realizing they were losing, the men in black exchanged glances, nodded, and suddenly, several big chandeliers in the restaurant came crashing down.
"Ah, someone got hit!"
"Help!"
"Call the cops, someone got hit by a chandelier!"
Seven or eight men in black were taken down by Abella. They threw smoke bombs and bailed through the windows.
Amidst the thick smoke, there were screams, cries, and calls for help.
Abella ditched the chase and followed the sounds, finding a girl hit by a chandelier, her face covered in blood.
Her boyfriend was freaking out. "Aurelia, wake up, don't scare me."
"Don't shake her." Abella grabbed her bag from the mess and was about to pull out a medical kit when she realized she left it at the hospital.
She asked a few nearby guests to shine their phone lights on her and then squatted down to treat Aurelia's wound.
Aurelia's forehead had chandelier fragments, looking gnarly.
"What are you doing? Can you save Aurelia? Are you a doctor? Are there doctors as young as you?" Aurelia's boyfriend looked at Abella in disbelief. "Is Aurelia seriously hurt? Will she die? I don't want her to die. Can you save her? What are you doing now?"
"Shut up." Abella cleaned Aurelia's wound.
Aurelia groaned in pain, her face twisted in agony.
"Be gentle, she's in pain, please be gentle!" Aurelia's boyfriend was almost in tears.
The surrounding guests were also shaking with fear, unable to watch the bloody scene.
Blood kept pouring from Aurelia's head. Her boyfriend cried, "She's still bleeding, her blood hasn't stopped, she's still bleeding! Please save her, you have to save her."
"If you keep crying, I'll throw you out." Abella's voice was ice-cold, scaring Aurelia's boyfriend into silence.
Caleb chased outside the restaurant and found several waiters already injured and down. He made a call and returned to find Abella saving someone.
Aurelia's head was covered in blood, and the surrounding guests were trembling with fear. Only Abella stayed calm, methodically treating Aurelia's wound.
Caleb thought, 'Who is she? Those dozen men in black were no joke, yet she handled them like a pro. Her moves even remind me of the infamous Boss A.'
Both her skills and mental toughness had completely changed his view of her in just one day.
Abella took out a medicine bottle from her backpack, poured out a pill, crushed it in her palm, and sprinkled it on the girl's wound.
Hearing Aurelia's painful groans, her boyfriend questioned again, "What are you giving her?"
Abella's cold stare shut him up, making him swallow his words.
After sprinkling the medicine, Abella quickly bandaged Aurelia's wound and said, "Get her to the hospital."
"Will she be okay?" Aurelia's boyfriend asked worriedly, holding her tight.
"If you get her there within half an hour, she won't die."
