Chapter 863 Far Ahead
The crowd's cheers were deafening, with most people shouting "Sterling's" name. This was his turf, and he had participated in numerous races, earning a reputation as a skilled driver. Otherwise, he wouldn't be the deputy captain of the Drift Team.
But no one in the audience knew Abella.
Only a few voices were shouting, "Go Boeing Team!"
Clea tried to calm the team, "We need to trust Saskia's judgment and have confidence in Abella!"
Della wanted to say she was really worried about Abella. After all, Sterling was known for his ruthless tactics to win...
"I'll go remind Abella," Della said, hurrying over to warn Abella about Sterling.
Abella remained calm, "Don't worry."
Meanwhile, Sean received word that the girl who caused a scene last night was spotted at the Velocity Circuit. There was a race tonight, and she must be interested in such thrilling events, so she went to watch.
He didn't expect her to be so unique in both personality and interests.
Sean rushed to the scene, searching the stands for the girl in the black mask, but he couldn't find anyone who looked like her...
"Mr. Gray, I don't see her."
"Neither do I."
"Maybe she went to the restroom?"
"With only two cars racing tonight, maybe she left early?"
"Mr. Gray, we've searched the stands thoroughly, and there's no sign of her..."
Sean was anxious, "Who said they saw her at the Velocity Circuit? Bring them here."
Soon, one of his men approached. "Mr. Gray, I was off today and came to watch the race. I saw someone who looked like her sitting in a red sports car..."
"Why didn't you say so earlier?" Sean was a bit angry, feeling they had wasted time searching the stands.
"I didn't get to finish my call before you hung up..." The man felt wronged.
"Where's the red sports car?"
Before Sean could finish asking, one of his men pointed towards the starting line, "Mr. Gray, is it that one?"
In the red sports car, a girl sat in the driver's seat. Although the windows were up and the headlights were on, Sean could still make out her features through the windshield.
Even from a distance, her cool and noble aura was palpable.
A familiar feeling washed over him.
She still had the same bun from last night, and without the mask, her face seemed quite beautiful.
Sean was mesmerized, because he hadn't expected her to be so stunning.
Last night, he thought that even if her face under the mask was ordinary, he would still be interested in getting to know her.
Now, he was even more captivated.
With the crowd in front of him, Sean could only stand on the steps, watching her from afar.
"Which teams are racing tonight?" Sean asked his men.
"The Boeing Team is challenging the Drift Team. The white sports car is driven by Sterling, the deputy captain of the Drift Team. We don't know who the girl in the red sports car is. The Boeing Team has participated in many races, but I've never seen her before. She might be a new member or a hidden talent..."
Some teams secretly train excellent drivers to surprise their opponents at critical moments. It's also possible that the girl was a newly recruited member.
"She's a driver..." Sean's impression of her improved, and he was completely smitten. He hadn't expected her to be not only skilled and beautiful but also a racer.
Although he couldn't see her features clearly, her vague and mysterious appearance exceeded his expectations.
"Mr. Gray, she shares your interest in racing."
Although Sean wasn't a professional racer, he enjoyed racing and had competed with many wealthy individuals. Now they had a common interest.
The referee stood between the two cars, counting down from three.
She waved the flag, and the crowd shouted, "Three."
As the flag fell again, the crowd yelled, "Two."
The long-legged referee winked at Sterling, waved the flag again, and blew a whistle.
"One!"
Both cars took off simultaneously.
Sterling smirked, confident in his victory.
The wind from the speeding cars lifted the skirts and hair of many girls in the stands.
Meanwhile, in a two-story building behind the stands, Dennis arrived at the second-floor balcony, took the binoculars from Louie, and focused on the red sports car. He had arrived late and missed the earlier events.
He only knew that when the whistle blew, the red sports car and Sterling took off simultaneously, but the red car quickly outpaced Sterling, taking the lead.
Sterling hadn't expected Abella to be so skilled, taking the lead right from the start. He tried to speed up and catch up, but Abella seemed to anticipate his moves, giving him no chance.
The entire Boeing Team watched in disbelief as the giant screen displayed the race.
"Didn't Abella say she had never raced before?"
"She said she had never participated in any official or underground races. How can she drive so fast and so well?"
"No wonder Saskia chose her for this race. There must be a reason!"
"She managed to leave Sterling behind right from the start. Even Saskia wouldn't be able to beat her."
"This must be so embarrassing for Sterling. I can imagine how furious he must be in that white car."
"Sterling will definitely use some tricks."
The audience, surprised by the Boeing Team's quick lead over Sterling, began cheering for them.
Sterling tried several times but couldn't overtake Abella. This was her first time on the Velocity Circuit, yet she drove as if she knew it well. Had she done her homework beforehand?
Sean was amazed by the girl he liked, who was now leading against Sterling, a well-known racer. Winning against him wasn't easy.
Especially not so quickly, leaving him behind right from the start.
"Mr. Gray, you have a good eye. The girl you fancy is incredible..." Many of his men began to flatter him.
Sean kept his eyes on the red sports car on the big screen, feeling both proud and worried about her safety at such high speeds. He silently prayed for Abella's success.
