Chapter 589 Then Let's Examine the Injuries

"What did you say?" Angela and Darlene were stunned, looking at Abella and then at James in disbelief.

Their faces went pale, trembling. Angela asked first, "You called him what?"

Abella stayed silent, but James replied coldly, "My niece came to my ski resort. Got a problem?"

'Niece?' Angela and Darlene's faces turned even paler. 'How could Abella be James' niece? Why hasn't the media reported this? We're in big trouble.'

"Take them away," James ordered.

Standing around in the wind and snow wasn't a solution; James worried Abella might get cold.

Angela panicked when she heard James wanted to take them away. She knew James' reputation. Being taken away could mean serious trouble.

"Mr. Harris, I didn't know she was your niece. She provoked us first, and we were just defending ourselves," Angela said.

If James found out they started the fight, it wouldn't just be a matter of losing an arm or a leg.

"If you don't believe us, call a doctor to check our injuries. We got beaten up; we're not lying," Darlene added.

Abella was waiting for this. She raised an eyebrow, smiled, and said, "I agree to the examination."

Everyone, including James, was surprised. An examination would likely be bad for Abella.

But seeing her calm and sensible look, no one knew what she was thinking.

"Uncle James, let them have the examination," Abella suggested.

The bodyguards and staff were confused, not understanding Abella's actions.

"Alright." James took out his phone and dialed. "Horn Mountain Ski Resort, come over."

Angela's father on the other end was thrilled. "Mr. Harris, are you finally selling us that land in the west?"

"Not talking business today." James' tone was calm, but those who knew him sensed the storm brewing.

"Bring a doctor," James said coldly. "And call Darlene's parents."

Angela's father was stunned. "Did something happen?"

James replied, "Your daughters got injured at my ski resort and want an examination."

Angela's father was terrified. "These foolish girls, I'll come right away and take them back. What injuries, what examination, they're just talking nonsense, don't take it seriously."

"No, I want everyone here, not one less," James said seriously.

Angela's father tried to appease him. "Mr. Harris, kids falling while skiing is no big deal, no need for a doctor. They just need some discipline."

James asked impatiently, "Do I need to repeat myself?"

"No, no need," Angela's father replied, realizing the gravity of the situation. "We'll be there shortly. Sorry for the trouble, we'll explain everything!"

James hung up and opened the snowmobile door, letting Abella in first.

Angela and Darlene were uneasy. Was James really calling their parents?

Despite their usual spoiled behavior, their parents didn't tolerate their antics, especially now when both families needed James' help.

Angela's father wanted that piece of land in the west and was competing with other groups to impress James. Recently, Angela's uncle caused trouble in James' casino, and James hadn't responded yet.

Darlene's family, in the mid-range car business, was dealing with internal issues. Her father hoped to collaborate with James for mutual benefit.

Angela and Darlene knew if James took this seriously, their families would suffer.

Seeing the snowmobile leaving, Angela and Darlene asked, "What about us?"

They couldn't just walk in the snow.

"If you don't want to lose face later, catch up and explain to Mr. Harris, hoping for leniency," a staff member advised.

Covered in injuries, running was out of the question, and even walking was painful. But they had no choice and chased after the snowmobile.

"Mr. Harris, let us explain. We wouldn't dare harm your niece."

"We're telling the truth, you can check."

Running without skis, they chased the snowmobile.

"We don't know why your people are lying, but we didn't start the fight. We're the victims, and the examination will prove it."

"Mr. Harris, please don't call our parents. Let's talk this out."

Since the snowmobile was open, their words were clearly heard by Abella.

"Don't worry," James said warmly, "I'll stand up for you."

"I did hit them," Abella admitted.

"The staff saw it; they started it, and you were just defending yourself," James said. "Even if you started it, so what? You can hit anyone you don't like. I'll handle the aftermath; you just do what you want."

Abella was speechless. 'Isn't this a bit too indulgent?'

"If you want to hit someone, they must deserve it. If you don't like someone, it's their problem," James said seriously. "In short, it's never your fault."

"Uncle James, aren't you being unreasonable?"

"To me, whatever you do is right," James said. "The only ones who can be wrong are others."
