Chapter 957 Specially Designed

"Hey, can you guys check if there's any problem?" Abella handed each of them an earbud.

Ethan, though puzzled by Abella's sudden interest in Jacob's voice, listened to the audio and nodded. "Yeah, that's definitely him. You even cleaned up the background noise. Sounds like he's right here with us."

Abella felt relieved at Ethan's confirmation. "I'm gonna check his old room again, see if we missed anything. You guys chat."

She took back the earbuds.

Dennis watched Abella leave so quickly that he didn't even get a chance to say a word to her.

No wonder everyone else was always rushing home to spend time with Abella. It turned out that only by seizing the moment could they spend more time with her.

The more people there were, the less time Abella had for each of them.

He suddenly missed the times when it was just him and Abella.

"What happened to Jacob?" Ethan asked Dennis quietly after Abella left.

Steven had already shown him the footage from the abandoned building, and although he knew Jacob was Lola's biological father, he didn't know what happened to Jacob afterward.

Dennis, still feeling a bit down from being ignored by Abella, slowly recounted the events in detail.

By the end, Ethan understood that Abella was setting a trap, waiting for the mastermind to fall into it.

"I'm going upstairs to change into something more comfortable," Ethan said, seeing that Abella wouldn't be back for a while. He planned to change into some loungewear.

The clothes were specially designed for him by Abella, just as good as the ones Dennis was wearing.

After Ethan left, Dennis felt even more bored. He went to his room to work on his computer, but as soon as he stepped in, he saw the painting Lola had given him hanging on the wall.

It was an oil painting of a sunflower field, warm and beautiful.

But Dennis didn't care at all. He took it down and threw it in the trash, along with the vintage ornaments, exquisite watches, lighters, camping gear, and climbing equipment Lola had given him.

A servant nearby heard the commotion and rushed over, thinking something had happened.

Dennis hadn't closed his door, and the servant saw that everything related to Lola had been thrown away without a second thought.

He used to cherish these things so much. Once, a servant accidentally broke a ceramic cup Lola had made for him, and he had thrown a huge fit.

Who would have thought that one day, these things would end up as trash?

"Take out the garbage," Dennis ordered.

The servant quickly responded, "Yes, Mr. Medici."

After throwing everything away, Dennis finally felt his room looked a bit more pleasing.

Meanwhile, after changing into his loungewear, Ethan noticed the razor, cologne, and skincare products on his desk, suddenly remembering that Lola had given them to him last year.

He had been so happy when he received those gifts, he didn't even want to use them.

Besides those, there was a photo of him and Lola on his bookshelf, taken last year after Lola won first place in a piano competition. She was holding the trophy and had her arm around him, smiling sweetly.

Lola's smile was so sweet, her eyes filled with happiness, looking so beautiful.

Ethan took out a thick photo album from the bookshelf, filled with pictures of him and his family, many of which included Lola.

There were photos of them playing, riding bikes, and going to amusement parks as kids.

There were pictures of them traveling together as they grew older.

And there were birthday photos, with both of them smiling.

Memories played like a movie in his mind.

Lola used to be so pure, kind, and innocent. How did she end up doing such terrible things to Abella?

In the end, he threw everything related to her into the trash.

When the servant came to clean the room, she was surprised to find that Ethan had even thrown away his favorite photo.

He used to be so careful with that photo, always cleaning it himself and not letting anyone else touch it.

Lola had such a bright future, a life of luxury, and so much love from everyone. Yet she wasn't satisfied and chose to hurt the Medici family. It was so foolish and self-destructive!

Abella spent half an hour searching Jacob's old room but found no useful clues.

On her way back to the main house, she saw two servants carrying trash bags to the gate. One bag was so full that a few photo frames fell out, showing pictures of Lola and Ethan.

The servant bent down to pick them up and noticed Abella, greeting her with a bow.

"Are these things Ethan doesn't want?" Abella asked calmly.

"Yes. They're from both Mr. Ethan Medici and Mr. Dennis Medici." The servant opened the large trash bags, revealing they were all filled with things related to Lola.

Abella didn't expect Ethan and Dennis to even throw away their photos.

"Abella!" Dennis, who had been pacing by the window, finally saw Abella and rushed out of the main house, holding an umbrella.

"It's snowing. I brought you an umbrella," Dennis said, opening it over her head. "Did you get wet?"

"No, Dennis," Abella smiled. "Don't you have other things to do today?"

"No, I've been free lately, staying home to keep you company. Did you find any clues?" Dennis tilted the umbrella more towards her.

"No, he was very careful and left nothing behind," Abella said, holding a tablet.

"Give it to me. Put your hands in your pockets to warm up."

"It's so cold, you're not wearing enough." Abella noticed he was only wearing loungewear, even though it was thick and warm, it wasn't enough for the weather outside. "I'll have someone bring more coats."

Dennis was overjoyed, though he pretended to be reluctant about Abella spending money on him.

As soon as they entered the main house, his smile froze.

Because he saw Ethan, also in loungewear, looking even more stylish.

"You're back?" Ethan greeted Abella with a warm smile. "Did you find anything?"

"Nothing," Abella noticed his loungewear. "It looks great on you."

Since Ethan was often away on missions, this was the first time Abella saw him wearing the loungewear she designed.

"You designed it just for me, so it's special," Ethan said, affectionately patting her head.

Hearing that Abella was designed just for Ethan, Dennis felt a pang of jealousy.
