Chapter 459 Intentional Matchmaking
Philippe smiled and said, "Winston, rest assured, in this lifetime, only Abella can abandon me."
"What do you mean by abandonment? Abella is the one who starts trouble and abandons others!"
At the end of the transparent glass walkway was a large heart-shaped structure. The three of them stood there, enjoying the view and chatting.
In the evening, when Philippe was about to send the siblings back to Long Island Manor, they suddenly noticed a Rolls-Royce parked at the entrance. It seemed that they had visitors.
"In that case, I won't disturb Uncle and Aunt. You both rest early," Philippe said gently as he looked at the girl in front of him.
"Alright, drive safely," Winston replied.
Seeing the reluctant expressions on their faces, Winston suddenly felt his presence was unnecessary.
In the living room, Mrs. Medici looked at the girl in front of her with a smile and said, "Clara, you've become even more beautiful after all this time."
"Auntie, you're too kind," Clara replied cheerfully. "It's been a while since I last saw you. Auntie, you've become even more beautiful. You are naturally elegant without makeup, and no one looks better than you with makeup."
"Look at you, you've become quite the sweet talker." Mrs. Medici couldn't stop laughing. "You're almost praising me as if I were a flower."
"What flower can compare to you, Auntie? The newly blooming flowers can't match your grace and elegance, and the withered ones are even less worthy. You surpass them all," Clara said.
Mrs. Medici burst into laughter. "You're such a child."
"Clara has always been lively and clever since she was young. The older she gets, the more likable she becomes," Mr. Medici said with a smile to his old friend Zephyr Wren, who was sitting beside him. "With a daughter like her, you'll never feel lonely again. She warms your heart for a lifetime."
"Our little daughter is showing her tail, isn't she? She just graduated from Oxford and as soon as she returned to the country, she started missing Winston," Mr. Medici said with a hearty laugh.
"What makes Winston so special?" Mr. Medici continued, "He went out with Abella in the afternoon and hasn't returned yet."
As soon as he finished speaking, a servant came to report, "Winston and Ms. Abella have returned."
Clara's eyes lit up, and she eagerly looked towards the direction of the entrance.
"It's like calling for someone, and they appear. Let me introduce you. This is the daughter I just found, Abella," Mr. Medici said.
Mrs. Medici stepped forward, took Abella's hand, and introduced her with a smile, "Abella, this is Mr. Zephyr, Aunt Wren, and their daughter Clara Wren. Clara is older than you."
"Mr. Zephyr, Mrs. Wren, Clara, it's nice to meet you all," Abella greeted politely.
"So, this is Abella? She's really beautiful!" Mrs. Wren's gaze ran from top to bottom, seemingly very pleased. "She looks delightful. I wonder which lucky boy will win her heart in the future."
"Perhaps she should marry into the Bourbon family? She and Philippe, a perfect match in terms of talent and appearance." Zephyr nodded in agreement.
"Abella is so beautiful. She's even more stunning than the five-star companions that recently flooded my social media," Clara, always naive and straightforward, said with a smile. "I'm glad to meet you. I'm a friend of Winston."
"Winston?"
So, this Clara Wren came for Winston?
"Mr. Zephyr, Mrs. Wren, it's been a while," Winston said, glancing at Clara. "You're here?"
"I didn't expect you to dote on Abella so much," Clara said, her smile radiant. "I heard you took Abella out?"
"I just went along for the ride, like a third wheel," Winston replied.
"It's been a while, and Winston looks even more handsome," Mrs. Wren said, smiling. "I'm sure you have plenty of girls chasing after you, right?"
"I'm usually busy with work," Winston could only respond.
"Clara has been busy with her studies. Now that she has finally graduated, she plans to go back to the country to develop her career. Zephyr and I only have one daughter, so we intend to place her in the company and groom her as the successor," Mrs. Wren explained.
Upon hearing this, Winston realized that it meant she would stay in the country for a long time.
"Winston, it's been a while since Clara last visited our home. Why don't you take her to the garden? We've planted many new flowers recently. Let Clara see if there are any varieties she likes, and she can take some home to nurture," Mrs. Wren suggested.
Winston could only say, "I promised Abella to take a walk with her, right, Abella?"
Abella felt helpless.
'When did I ever say that?'
Winston's pleading gaze fell on Abella.
Mrs. Medici, half in doubt, said, "Didn't you just finish accompanying Abella?"
"It's okay, I can also accompany Abella for a walk," Clara said, leaving Winston stunned.
"Well, you two should go then. I'll have the garden lights turned on," Mrs. Medici urged.
Clara took Abella's hand with a bright smile. "Abella, I heard you just returned to this home. Are you getting used to it?"
Abella didn't expect her to be so enthusiastic and nodded. "It's good."
"I heard you used to live in New York as well. It's been a while since I last visited. How about we go shopping together sometime?" Clara suggested.
"Abella is very busy," Winston chimed in. "She has to go to school, take care of other matters, and accompany her fiancé."
"How about you accompany me then?" Clara looked up and asked.
"I'm quite busy too."
"Well, we can make plans after you both are free. We can go shopping and enjoy some good food together," Clara said with a smile, always holding Abella's hand.
"Alright." At that moment, Abella's phone vibrated. "Sorry, I need to take this call."
Winston wanted to say not to answer, but the caller was Philippe. He could only look at Abella with a pleading expression: Please come back quickly after the call.
Abella found it amusing. Was Winston intentionally avoiding this Clara? Did he not like her?
"Winston, what have you been busy with lately?" Clara took the initiative again. "I heard there have been fewer criminal cases recently."
"You should be with Abella."
"I understand girls better. Next time you go somewhere, you can take me along. I'll make sure Abella has a great time going out and coming back," Clara said.
"Are you really planning to develop your career abroad?" Winston asked again.
"Yes, this is my home. I will come back sooner or later."
Winston didn't know what to say to her, so he remained silent. Then Clara asked, "Do you have any plans for tomorrow?"
"Not yet."
"What does your sister like?" Clara continued to inquire. "Are there any places she wants to go or anything she's particularly interested in?"
Winston was taken aback by the question.
"Don't tell me you don't know what Abella likes?"
"She..."
In Winston's impression, the only thing that seemed to interest his sister was Philippe.
Only when Philippe was mentioned, did his sister's eyes light up. Nothing and no one else could make her heart flutter.
"It seems like you don't know anything. I'll ask her myself later," Clara said.
