Chapter 968 Requesting Contact Information
"Excellent idea!" Beckett instructed the staff to bring out premium supplements and beauty products.
Saskia's embarrassment deepened. "You're being far too generous."
"Saskia, let me walk you out." Dennis had already gathered the gift bags and appeared beside her.
Unable to refuse any longer, Saskia reluctantly accepted their kindness.
"Darling, you must come visit again soon! I'll be counting the days until your next visit—we all will." Kimberly accompanied her out of the main house, her voice warm with genuine affection.
Steven tactfully took his mother's arm. "We'll say our goodbyes here. Safe travels, Saskia."
"You're too kind, Steven. Please, don't trouble yourselves. Abella..." Saskia hesitated, reluctant to part from her friend and even more reluctant to have Dennis escort her.
"I have something urgent to handle. Dennis will see you out. Take care." Abella's tone was gentle but final.
Saskia had no choice but to accept gracefully. "Of course, no problem. Rest well after you finish your business."
As Dennis walked beside her carrying the gifts, Saskia felt each second stretch into eternity. Her pace quickened involuntarily—the path to the gate, which had seemed so short upon arrival, now felt endless.
"You and Abella have known each other long?" Dennis's question broke the awkward silence.
"Oh, yes... many years now."
"Did Abella... did she suffer much before?" His voice carried unexpected gentleness.
The question bridged the distance between them, and Saskia found herself speaking freely. "Those adoptive parents at the Wilson house treated her terribly—always cold, always dismissive. When they found Isla, Abella became invisible to them."
Her voice grew heated. "That little viper Isla tormented Abella constantly—sweet as pie in front of the parents, but a complete monster behind their backs. She made Abella's life miserable!"
"Abella endured it all for the sake of family harmony, especially to avoid worrying Mrs. Wilson during her illness. She kept cleaning up their messes, but they just became more demanding."
Dennis found himself surprised by her passionate defense. The long walk had passed in what felt like moments, and they'd already reached the gate.
Saskia pressed her car's unlock button, and Dennis loaded the gifts into her trunk with careful efficiency.
"Drive safely. Have a good trip home."
"Thank you."
Saskia settled into the driver's seat and fastened her seatbelt, ready to leave, when Dennis suddenly tapped on her window.
"Wait..." He quickly pulled out his phone. "I'm escorting Abella to Britonia tomorrow, and I'm not sure what might come up. Could I get your contact information? In case there's an emergency with Abella, you know her better than anyone."
Upon hearing this, Saskia thought it made some sense. She took out her phone and exchanged contact information with him.
Dennis could barely contain his elation at successfully getting her WhatsApp, fighting to keep his voice level. "Goodbye, then."
"Bye." Saskia started the engine and pulled away.
Dennis watched her taillights disappear, practically glowing with triumph. He finally had her contact information! He owed his sister big time—ever since Abella had come home, everything seemed to fall into place.
Back in the living room, Kimberly couldn't contain her enthusiasm. "What a lovely girl Saskia is! Just as beautiful as Abella—flawless features and such elegant bearing!"
Dennis's eyebrows lifted smugly. Of course the woman he'd fallen for was exceptional!
"Not just her looks—she's so well-mannered. Her family raised her well, and being an only child, she seems to embody all the best qualities," Beckett added approvingly.
"I think she and Blake would make a perfect match!" Kimberly's eyes twinkled with matchmaking delight.
Dennis's expression darkened instantly. What terrible judgment!
"You think so too? From the moment I saw that girl, I thought she and Blake were made for each other! Blake's so lively and cheerful, and Saskia has such a lovely personality—they're perfectly..."
"How are they a match?" Dennis interrupted, striding back into the room.
"That was quick! Did you sprint back?" Kimberly looked surprised. "What do you mean, how aren't they perfect? Saskia is so accomplished, and Blake is a household name..."
"Blake's too young. He doesn't know how to take care of anyone."
"Says who? He's absolutely devoted to his sister—thoughtful and caring in ways you could learn from!" Kimberly turned to Abella for support. "Isn't that right, sweetheart?"
"Abella, don't you think your friend would be perfect for Blake? Imagine having her as your sister-in-law." Beckett's eyes lit up with anticipation.
Sister-in-law? To Blake? Dennis felt his world tilting off its axis. He opened his mouth to protest when Abella spoke, "Actually, I think Dennis and she would be quite compatible."
Both parents stared at Dennis in stunned silence, then at each other.
Dennis's stormy expression transformed into one of vindicated triumph. Now that was the kind of insight he expected from his brilliant sister! She could see what was obvious—he and Saskia were the perfect match!
"Nonsense!" Kimberly quickly dismissed the idea. "Dennis would terrify the poor girl before she could even get to know him properly."
"Blake is much more suitable—he's gentle and considerate." Beckett began.
"Am I even your son?" Dennis exploded. "You've never had a kind word for me, but you'll sing anyone else's praises!"
Both parents exchanged helpless looks. They wanted to praise him, truly, but facts were facts—Blake's temperament was undeniably gentler and more nurturing than Dennis's.
"I'm going to shower!" Dennis stormed upstairs, but paused outside his grandmother's room when he heard her voice.
"When are you coming home? I met the most beautiful girl tonight, and she's absolutely perfect. I was thinking, since you're the only one in the family still single... you two would be ideal together."
Dennis froze. Was she talking to Blake? What did she mean, the only one still single? What about him? Did he not count?
He knocked and entered without waiting for permission.
The elderly woman was indeed on the phone with Blake. Seeing Dennis, she assumed he needed something and quickly wrapped up the call. "We'll talk more when you get home... hurry back, you're the only one missing now... yes, even Dennis made it! Sleep well, darling."
After hanging up, she beamed at Dennis. "Did you see that lovely girl off safely? Wasn't she absolutely gorgeous?"
