Chapter 1083 Confessed
His wrists were raw and bleeding from the ropes cutting into his skin, but he seemed oblivious to the pain, still struggling to break free.
Sam punched him hard in the stomach, making him double over in pain and finally quiet down.
"That grave was just for show. Your parents aren't dead. Jacob's got them locked up, torturing them every day. He even shows them photos and videos of you calling him 'father' to punish them for leaving the organization, making their suffering even worse."
Scorpion was stunned by this revelation, looking at Abella with a mix of hatred and disbelief.
He hated that Abella had dug up his parents' grave.
He doubted whether Abella was trying to sow discord.
But he believed her because if it were all a lie, how could she make it sound so real, as if she had experienced it herself?
"We found someone who was involved in what happened back then," Abella said, glancing at the time. "He should be here soon."
Scorpion's eyes remained filled with complexity and suspicion.
The few minutes of waiting felt like an eternity to Scorpion.
Finally, when Tony arrived with a man, everyone's attention turned to him.
The man was short, barely 5'2".
He removed his mask, revealing a shocking scar that ran diagonally across his left face from his forehead, causing his left eye to squint slightly, making his eyes look asymmetrical.
He took off his knit cap, showing a bald spot on his head. He told Scorpion that he had tried to leave the organization too, and Jacob's men had slashed him twice there, preventing his hair from growing back. The scar on his face was from the same incident.
He had served Jacob for many years, thinking he was different from others, but anyone who tried to leave the organization faced Jacob's brutal revenge.
He had been stabbed over a dozen times and kicked off a cliff, but luckily landed in a tree and was saved by a kind stranger, living a life in hiding ever since.
"I was there the day your parents were taken," The man, known as Venomblade, said, recounting the events exactly as Abella had described.
"Jacob raised you not out of pity for your young age, but to torment your parents further and to have more people willing to die for him. You were just a pawn." Venomblade handed Scorpion some old photos.
"These photos were taken by me for self-protection back then. They have dates on them." Venomblade tossed the photos to Scorpion.
Abella gave Sam a look, and Sam immediately untied Scorpion's wrists. Scorpion fell to the ground, his bloody hands trembling as he frantically picked up the photos, looking at them one by one.
The photos were old and unclear, but he could still see his parents on a boat, severely injured, with the deck wet with blood. He remembered it hadn't rained that day, but the black-and-white photos made it hard to tell if it was blood or rain.
There were also photos of his parents, barely alive, locked in a small, dark room. According to the dates, his parents were still alive when he was five, though they looked pale and lifeless, with strange expressions.
"When you were five, your mom had already lost her mind. The guards would mess with her, making her eat and drink filth just for kicks. Your dad, held down, couldn't stop them and had to endure the humiliation too. By the time you were seven, your dad killed your mom to end her suffering before taking his own life."
Scorpion couldn't believe that Jacob was behind his family's tragedy.
He had spent years serving Jacob, thinking of him as a father.
"I didn't take part in those events, but I was with Jacob and saw everything. I didn't want to come forward and risk my life, but they told me Jacob was dead and that someone was still foolishly serving him, just like I once did. They offered me a lot of benefits and a new identity, so I decided to come. Of course, they promised me a comfortable life."
Venomblade looked at Tony. "I've told you everything I know. Can I go now?"
Abella gave Tony a nod, and Tony assured him, "Don't worry, we keep our promises. You should be glad you met our boss. She never goes back on her word. If she promised you a new identity, you can count on it."
Venomblade glanced at Abella, who exuded a strong and commanding presence despite her young age, clearly fit to be a boss.
He then looked at Tony, his expression weary and forlorn. "You're lucky to have a good boss. Not everyone is as fortunate..."
After he left, Scorpion continued to scream and cry in the basement, his wails echoing like a banshee's.
Sam couldn't stand the deafening, heart-wrenching cries, especially as Scorpion knelt on the ground, crying and pounding the floor for half an hour.
"Look, I know the truth is hard to accept, but this isn't helping. Even if you punch a hole in this floor, your parents won't come back. You should think about avenging them instead."
Sam bluntly said, "Ms. Medici went through a lot to uncover the truth for you. We didn't do this for fun. Now that we've helped you, shouldn't you help us? Tell us everything you know?"
"No rush," Abella said, her gaze falling on the man on the ground. "Tell us when you're ready."
She signaled Sam to leave with her. Sam was puzzled. Just like that? What if he killed himself?
That night, Scorpion had calmed down, his voice hoarse as he said, "I want to see your boss."
The guards immediately brought Abella, and Scorpion looked at the girl before him. "I gave Isla the money and the contact for the hitman group..."
He began to explain, "I also provided the Sevenfold Poison. After I got it, I killed the person who made it."
"Why?" Abella asked calmly through the bars.
"At first, I thought Jacob had saved and raised me, so I wanted to repay him. After Jacob died, he gave my contact to his daughter, Lola. When Lola saw the news of Jeff and Skylar's execution, she contacted me, wanting to use Isla to kill you."
Abella's lips curled slightly. So it was Lola!
