Chapter 634 Personally Backing Up the Daughter-in-Law
There was a lot of noise coming from the first floor.
People turned to see Claire, purse in hand, making a grand entrance at the cafeteria door.
Employees greeted her warmly, "Ms. Sanders."
"Ms. Sanders, it's been a while since you last checked in."
"Have you eaten? Let me get you your favorite dishes."
"Long time no see, Ms. Sanders."
"What brings you here today?"
"Haven't seen you in a while."
Claire's face was cold, her eyes even colder. "I heard someone has taken an interest in my son, so I came to check it out."
She had her own sources in the company and heard a woman had caused a stir, seemingly related to Phillipe.
Since it happened in Phillipe's office, no one could explain it clearly.
She had been shopping nearby and, after calling Phillipe with no answer, decided to come in person.
She wanted to see who was causing such a fuss.
"Where is she?" Claire asked coldly.
Employees quickly tried to calm her down. "Ms. Sanders, it's normal for women to like someone as outstanding as Mr. Bourbon."
"Don't be upset; it just shows how great Mr. Bourbon is, attracting so many women."
"Let the kids handle their own affairs, Ms. Sanders. Why don't we sit down and have lunch?"
"My daughter-in-law can only be one person." Claire's gaze swept the room. "Where is that girl?"
Today, she had to have a clear talk with that girl!
Everyone felt her powerful presence and looked towards the second floor.
Claire followed their gaze and saw a girl on the phone. From this angle, she could only see the girl's back, but she looked young.
So young, yet so bold, causing such a commotion.
Her daughter-in-law could only be one person: 'Abella Medici!'
No one else should even think about getting close to Phillipe!
She knew Abella was usually busy, so today, she decided to personally drive away these women to set an example and show everyone the Bourbon family's stance, and also to warn those who liked to daydream.
As she headed to the second floor, the cafeteria buzzed with chatter. "It's over, that girl is in trouble. Did you hear what Ms. Sanders said? She said her daughter-in-law can only be one, I think that must be Lola Medici. She's here to support Lola!"
"So, this girl didn't get Ms. Sanders' approval?"
"No matter how pretty she is, she can't overcome the gap in status. What a pity."
"Ms. Sanders has always been shrewd and capable. There's going to be a good show soon."
"Do you think Mr. Bourbon will stand up for his girlfriend or listen to his mom and break up with her?"
"I don't know, I'm so nervous and excited to see what happens next."
Phillipe had just picked out several dishes and was about to sit down when he saw the elevator door open with a ding, and Claire walked out carrying a purse.
"Mom, what are you doing here?" Phillipe asked.
Abella looked over, surprised. "Mrs. Bourbon?"
Claire saw Abella and lit up. She ran over and hugged her. "Abella, what are you doing here? Did Phillipe invite you?"
She never expected to see Abella here!
"I had some free time today, so I came to see him," Abella explained.
"Phillipe, why didn't you pick her up? You let Abella come by herself?" Claire lightly slapped Phillipe. "Where are the manners I taught you?"
"I wanted to surprise him," Abella added.
"Abella, you're so thoughtful." Claire, purse in hand, happily sat next to Abella. "Did Phillipe show you around? Are you getting used to it here? Is there anything in the company that needs improvement? And how's the food?"
Before Abella could answer, Claire scolded, "Phillipe, Abella rarely comes here. Couldn't you get more dishes? Or take her out to eat? And you didn't even choose a bigger table. Abella, you sit here, I'll get you more dishes."
"No need, Mrs. Bourbon, there's already plenty, we can't finish it all," Abella said, holding her hand. "I'll get you some utensils, and we can eat together."
"How can I let you do that?" Claire glanced at Phillipe. "Isn't there someone here?"
Phillipe got up to get the utensils.
Claire added, "Abella, you should come more often when you have time, get familiar with the place. If Phillipe is busy, you can call me, I'll show you around. I know this company inside out."
Everyone on the first floor was stunned.
Just now, Claire seemed ready to drag out the woman who was after Phillipe and deal with her on the spot.
But seeing Abella, she not only hugged her but also sat next to her, holding her hand and chatting warmly.
"I just don't want to trouble Mrs. Bourbon," Abella said sweetly.
Claire adored her. "How could it be trouble? I have nothing to do at home. If you need anything, just call me anytime!"
"You talk too much, it's noisy," Phillipe said, placing a set of utensils in front of Claire. "Abella likes it quiet."
Claire snorted at him and then held Abella's hand again. "Did you come in the morning or just now?"
"In the morning."
"Did you hear about something?" Claire said, getting a bit angry. "I heard from my people that a woman caused a huge commotion in the company, alarming hundreds of security personnel. Who is this woman, daring to make a scene while we're not here?"
Abella, feeling responsible, said, "It was me."
"You?" Claire was stunned and looked at Phillipe. "What's going on?"
Phillipe briefly explained the situation. After listening, Claire was about to get angry when her phone rang.
Seeing the caller, she quickly answered, "Mr. Jenkins."
"Mrs. Bourbon, have you had lunch yet?"
Before Nicholas, Cecelia's father, could finish, Claire said, "I can't eat because of Phillipe. You know, Camila keeps expressing her feelings to Phillipe, even though she knows about the marriage agreement between the Bourbon family and the Medici family. This puts Phillipe in a difficult position, and it doesn't look good if word gets out. What will the Medicis think?"
