Chapter 566 How About Bringing Abella Along

Maria's face went pale when she heard that, and she nervously adjusted her hair.

This only made Abella more certain. Maria was indeed wearing a wig, just like the investigation had shown.

The living room was dark, with only some dim light from the garden lamps, making the place feel tense.

Maria hadn't expected Abella to dig into her past. She seemed to know some things.

'How could this be? Those events were so secret. How did Abella find out? Or is she just guessing without proof?' Maria thought.

"Whoever's outside, come in. I know you're there."

Abella's voice made the person outside freeze, feeling very uneasy.

Maria glanced outside, panicked. "Ms. Abella Medici, you must be mistaken. There's no one out there."

"Do you think I don't know who you are just because you won't come out? Jacob, do you really think your bad acting can fool anyone here?" Abella said coldly. "I don't have time for this. If Lola wants to stay here, she better behave."

In a few years, Lola would be married off, and Abella wouldn't see her anymore.

"But if you keep up with your schemes," Abella added.

"What schemes? Ms. Abella Medici, you have no proof. How can you accuse us like this?" Maria felt wronged.

"Lola's sudden change in attitude, can you really say it has nothing to do with you? Are you trying to lead her astray and involve innocent people?" Abella snapped.

Maria was speechless.

"I don't care what you're planning. If it's just about money, you've made plenty over the years. If you want Lola to use the Medici family's influence, we can support her. But if you have other intentions..."

"Ms. Abella Medici, you're overthinking it. What happened back then was just a coincidence. If you don't believe me, investigate," Maria retorted.

"Anyway, I've said my piece. My patience is limited. This is my final warning." Abella finished and walked upstairs.

Maria watched her go, feeling a chill. 'Why does it seem like Abella, even at seventeen or eighteen, knows everything?'

The person hiding in the shadows didn't dare to show themselves and quickly left.

Maria clenched her fists. 'No, we can't wait any longer!'

Meanwhile, Kimberly had been sleeping fitfully, vaguely hearing sounds of an argument.

Then, a phone call woke her up. She saw it was from her mother and quickly answered. "Mom, how come you have time to call me today?" Kimberly got out of bed and tiptoed to the balcony, speaking softly.

"Kimberly, the sun is so nice today. It reminded me of the day you were born, such a bright and sunny day. I couldn't help but call you. I heard from the servants that you're twelve hours ahead of me. Are you sleeping now?"

"No, Beckett and I aren't planning to sleep yet. How's your health recently?" Kimberly asked with concern.

"Yesterday, I saw your brother with red eyes, so things must not be great, but they didn't tell me," Vanessa Patterson, Kimberly's mom, said with a laugh, trying to stay positive. "Recently, I saw a girl who looked a lot like you."

When Vanessa's illness flared up, she couldn't get a good look. Later, the servants said a passerby had saved her. The girl looked just like young Kimberly.

"Mom, do you miss me? Beckett and I were just thinking of visiting you. Are you not in Verdania anymore?" Kimberly asked, worried.

"No, I moved to Sunhavenia this month. They say there's a skilled doctor here who might help me. But honestly, I don't have much hope," Vanessa replied, sounding tired.

"Mom, don't think like that," Kimberly said, feeling distressed. "I'll ask James tomorrow. If the doctor there can't help, maybe someone in our family can."

"Do we have anyone in the family who knows medicine?" Vanessa asked, surprised, then smiled. "Oh, you mean Winston, right? How's he doing? Is he busy with work?"

"Mom, Winston is a forensic pathologist. I was talking about..." Kimberly hesitated, worried about upsetting Vanessa. But Abella's medical skills were amazing. She had to have a way!

"How about this, we'll head to Sunhavenia tomorrow and arrive the day after. Then I'll explain everything," Kimberly said.

"What kind of doctor is so mysterious? You and Beckett don't need to make a special trip. I might not stay in Sunhavenia long," Vanessa said.

Kimberly insisted. "No, we haven't seen you in a long time. You were in a coma for a while, and James took you everywhere for treatment. Beckett wants to see you. It's settled; we'll visit tomorrow."

"Kimberly, really, there's no need to make a special trip," Vanessa said, knowing her time was limited. "I know you're busy. Even if my condition is incurable, it's okay. I've had a good life."

Kimberly's eyes filled with tears. She covered her mouth, trying not to cry out loud, holding back her emotions.

Beckett found her on the balcony and quickly draped a robe over her. It was December, and the wind was biting. Seeing his wife about to cry, he gently rubbed her back and helped her inside.

"Mom, it's settled. After lunch, take a nap. Beckett and I will leave tomorrow and arrive the day after. If I see you're not doing well, I'll have to scold James!" Kimberly said with a smile.

Vanessa laughed. "Alright, alright, I'll wait for you. You kids are so sweet."

After hanging up, Kimberly quickly messaged her brother James Harris on WhatsApp about Vanessa's condition and then told Beckett.

Vanessa's condition seemed dire.

"Why don't we bring Abella with us?" Beckett suggested. They could introduce her formally, and she could help diagnose on the spot.

"Not sure if Abella has time. I'll ask her tomorrow," Kimberly said.
