Chapter 488 Feeling a Bit Strange

Moreover, among the medications the elderly woman was taking, there were the three she mentioned.

These three were special drugs not yet on the market.

'How did the girl know about them? And how did she figure it out? Incredible!' the young woman thought.

The driver also went wide-eyed. Although he usually didn't assist the elderly woman with her medication, hearing Abella speak so knowledgeably made him think she was quite impressive.

She even knew this.

"Hey, do you know medicine? If we don't use these three drugs, what other options do we have?" The short-haired girl seized the opportunity to ask, "Can you leave a contact number? If you can help with our grandma's condition, our boss will definitely reward you handsomely..."

"The elderly woman's health isn't going to improve overnight," Abella answered.

When Abella diagnosed the elderly woman earlier, she found many issues.

If treatment was needed, the prescription would have to be constantly adjusted, and the patient's reaction to the medication would need to be observed and modified accordingly. It would take some time.

"Ms. Medici, it's time to get in the car."

At this moment, Joe, seeing that Abella had been delayed for too long, couldn't help but come over to remind her.

Given the constant traffic of cars here, if a person with malicious intent were to notice, it would spell serious trouble for Ms. Medici.

"Can you leave a contact number?" The short-haired girl was reluctant to let Abella go. She looked like she was only in her teens, yet she had such a deep understanding of medicine.

But Abella thought that if this scene was seen by bad people and they couldn't find her, they would definitely trace it back to this elderly woman's family. She didn't want to involve innocent people.

To avoid bringing trouble to them, Abella politely declined, "Anyone with a basic understanding of medicine can solve this problem."

She wasn't lying.

Although the elderly woman's condition was a bit time-consuming and labor-intensive, it wasn't difficult to handle. It could be said that it was much easier than Granny's condition.

The short-haired girl watched her get into the car and drive away, only then realizing she hadn't thanked the girl.

"That girl has such a good temperament and looks," the driver said, looking in the direction Abella had left, "She is young and beautiful, even skilled in medicine. It's the first time I've seen someone like that."

"Stop looking. She has a driver, so she must be from a wealthy family," the short-haired girl added, "It's a pity I forgot to thank her. Let's go to the hospital first."

She had noticed the girl's license plate was local. If the boss wanted to find her, it should be easy.

In the car.

Joe glanced at the girl in the rearview mirror while driving. "Ms. Medici..."

"No need to report to Phillipe; it's a minor issue." Abella seemed to know what he wanted to say and gave an answer directly.

Joe was taken aback, not expecting Abella to have such foresight.

"But if Mr. Bourbon finds out later..."

"I'll handle it."

Joe secretly breathed a sigh of relief. With Abella's assurance, he could relax.

The car soon arrived at a suburban villa.

This villa looked quite old, exuding a faint sense of history and wear.

Surrounding it were similarly old villas, about twenty or thirty of them standing tall.

Each villa had five or six steps leading up to the entrance, a design style from long ago.

"You can wait in the car," Abella said.

Abella got out, walked up the steps, and rang the doorbell.

After a while, no one answered. Abella rang it again, thinking that Terry might not be home.

She saw a gap under the door and decided to write a note and slip the money through the gap.

Just as she was about to take out paper and pen, an elderly man slowly approached, one hand on the stair railing and the other carrying groceries from the supermarket, looking suspiciously at the girl standing at his door.

Abella heard the sound and turned around. "Excuse me, are you Mr. Campbell?" she asked

Terry, hearing the familiar address, let down his guard and asked kindly, "Where are you from? Why are you standing at my door?"

"Mr. Nelson sent me," Abella said, noticing he was carrying heavy items, and offered, "Let me help you with that."

"Did Patricia send you?" Terry, hearing this, quickly grabbed the shopping bag. "No need, no need. You're just a girl; you can't carry this."

Abella's hand accidentally touched his, and she paused, no longer insisting. Instead, she observed Terry.

He looked about seventy, with a head full of white hair and a hunched back. It seemed the few steps had exhausted all his energy.

But Abella still found it a bit strange.

"Come in first," Terry said, already a bit out of breath, carrying the bag inside.

Abella followed him in and closed the door behind her.

"No need to take off your shoes. To be honest, I haven't mopped the floor in days," Terry said, laughing heartily, "Sit anywhere you like. I'll put these away. Are you Patricia's daughter?"

"No," Abella asked calmly, "I heard you're usually home alone?"

"It's just me now. My son and his wife live far away. I asked my son to find Patricia for me; he's such a wonderful teacher. Patricia should have told you about this, right? My grandchildren speak English, and I was having trouble communicating with them. Thankfully, Patricia has taught me some English."

Abella smiled slightly. "You're doing quite well for your age."

After putting the bag down, Terry washed his hands and poured coffee for Abella.

"I don't have much to offer. Have some coffee first," he said, moving slowly and clumsily, placing the cup on the coffee table in front of Abella. Then he sat down and asked, "Why did Patricia send you here?"

"They had to leave suddenly and can't teach you anymore."

Abella took Diana's note and the remaining money out of her bag. "They wanted to apologize in person, but something came up, and they couldn't come. They tried calling you, but you didn't answer, so they asked me to do it. This is the remaining tuition. Mr. Nelson and his wife insisted I hand it to you."

"Are they leaving?" Terry's eyes showed reluctance. Seeing Abella place the money on the table, he waved his hand. "Tell them not to worry about it. It's not much money. They can keep it for their trip. I'm happy to have known them."

Thinking about being alone again, Terry seemed a bit sad.

Abella said calmly, "You'll find a better tutor."

"Thank you for your comforting words."

Abella picked up the cup and looked around the house. "You've kept the place very clean."

"It's not bad. Back in the States, I farmed for decades. My son finally made something successful, so I followed him here.

But I can't sit still. You see those flowers and plants outside? I take care of them too."
