Chapter 69 Just check it
"So, if their relationship has any problems, how could Miss Lola be so happy? She wouldn't have the mood to buy them afternoon tea."
"Miss Lola is only eighteen years old and she's already a winner in life. She has a great background and her fiancé is so outstanding."
"She is much better than us in every aspect."
"And look at us, twenty-eight years old, either without a boyfriend, without savings, or with poor family backgrounds... Ah, I don't know when we'll be able to live a good life."
"Alright, alright, keep your voices down. If someone hears us, the company's value will drop!"
...
Abella walked into the office, and assistant Joseph had already laid out the packed meals on the coffee table.
There were a total of thirteen different dishes.
"Miss Medici, you're here?" Joseph raised his head and respectfully said, "These are the meals for lunch."
Abella glanced at the food in front of her, picked up the fish soup and smelled it, then took a closer look at a dish of stir-fried pork sausage with corn kernels, even using chopsticks to separate the sausages.
The color and taste made her eyes cool a bit.
"Miss Medici, are these dishes still fresh?" Joseph noticed Abella's change.
"Go to the cafeteria."
A few curious employees followed secretly to watch the show.
Abella arrived at the cafeteria, where a dishwasher was washing dishes inside, and two chefs were lazily sitting in the flower bed outside, smoking and relaxing.
They didn't know who she was, but when they saw Joseph following behind, they guessed the identity of the girl in front of them to some extent.
She should be the new CEO who recently made the employees tremble in fear - Miss Medici.
"Joseph, is this Miss Medici?" one of the young chefs crushed his cigarette butt on the sole of his shoe and asked as he approached.
Joseph explained indifferently, "Miss Medici is just looking around, no need to be nervous."
When Abella entered the cooking area, she noticed that the hygiene conditions inside were poor. The young chef explained, "We haven't had time to clean up after cooking lunch., it's all clean. Look, the law enforcement officers came last week for an inspection and gave us an A-grade rating."
"Call your manager."
The young chef was stunned and said, "Our manager is not here..."
"Then ask him to come over." Abella added, "Right away."
"Yes..." The young chef had never encountered this atmosphere before and made a phone call to the manager.
After the call was made and before the manager arrived, Benjamin arrived first.
"Miss Medici must be free, to come all the way here."
Benjamin rushed to the kitchen He found Abella opening the refrigerator and looking at the frozen meat inside.
"Miss Medici, have you forgotten that our cafeteria has already been contracted to an outside catering company? Even if there were inspections to be done, it wouldn't be our company's responsibility," Benjamin said, raising a confrontational smile while looking at Abella.
"From a legal perspective, the company has a regulatory responsibility towards the contracted cafeteria. Benjamin, being older in age, may not understand the law, but that's alright," Abella replied calmly, unaffected by the man in front of her, with a slight curl of her lips. "I heard that you have a relative in charge of the cafeteria?"
Benjamin was surprised and sneered, "Miss Medici, are you dissatisfied with me? Do you want to target the cafeteria that my relative manages?"
Abella's lips curved even colder as she raised her gaze to the camera above. As expected, it had already been turned off.
"Turn on the camera," Abella instructed her assistant beside her.
"Miss Medici, what are you planning to do?" Benjamin was greatly dissatisfied with her actions. "Even if the cameras were to be turned on, it would not be our company's responsibility."
"It has already been turned on," Joseph returned after completing the task and respectfully informed them.
The head of the restaurant arrived, sweating profusely. He noticed the young girl next to Benjamin and couldn't help but ask, "Benjamin, who is this...?"
"Haven't you received the news? A new official has recently arrived, who likes to demonstrate authority. And now, it has even reached your level," Benjamin disregarded the girl in front of him.
The manager, Hunter, understood Benjamin's implication, but as someone who was always adept in the business field, he still smiled respectfully and said, "Miss Medici, I wonder what instructions you have?"
"There are a few leftover dumplings from lunch, I just reheated them, as well as other dishes. Joseph, please have Hunter and Benjamin try some," Abella said.
"Yes," Joseph went to serve the food.
Benjamin and Hunter didn't know what she meant.
"Miss Medici, if you want us to taste the dishes and make improvements..." Hunter's sentence was cut off when he heard Abella say one word, "Please."
The fragrant food was placed in front of them.
Hunter didn't refuse and took a bite of a dumpling, "The taste is good."
Benjamin didn't eat, he impatiently looked at the girl in front of him. "If Miss Medici wants to invite us for lunch, there is no need. I have already eaten."
"Is Benjamin full, or is he too afraid to eat?" Abella's words were like a string that violently stirred the hearts of everyone present. Even the employees who were quietly watching were a little afraid.
"What does Miss Medici mean?" Benjamin became displeased.
Hunter explained, "These dumplings were made by the chefs this afternoon, right?"
The two chefs nodded, but their eyes showed nervousness and unease.
"I didn't say they weren't made fresh," Abella raised her lips. "I was just curious about the filling inside...what is it made of?"
"The filling..." Hunter hesitated, then laughed, "Miss Medici is joking! The filling inside is of course made of fresh pork that the chefs bought at the market early in the morning...they minced it and wrapped it one by one."
'minced with soy protein cubes, cassava starch, and a series of food additives, and then mixed with pork essence oil, that's what you call minced meat?"
the people present were stunned. What? The dumplings they had for lunch didn't even have a bit of meat in them! It was all a bunch of food additives?
They felt nauseous.
"Miss Medici, you can't just speak without thinking because you're young. Do you have any evidence for what you're saying? If not, you are defaming our cafeteria..."
Although Hunter said this, his eyes were evasive, and even Benjamin couldn't hide his expression.
"If you want to know whether the filling inside these dumplings is made of fresh minced meat, then why don't we take them for testing?"
Abella looked at them with interest. "Hunter, when you ate that dumpling you must have had some resistance and fear, right?"
