Chapter 911 The Ungrateful Person
While Lauren went to get Lola, Bonnie pressed a button on her small remote and said slowly, "And guess what? All those gifts you've given her over the years—clothes, shoes, purses, jewelry, houses, cars, shops—she had Maria sell them for cash."
Beckett and Kimberly were stunned, practically turning to stone.
"Maybe she was worried that selling them here would catch your attention, so they sold them abroad. Most of the items are already gone..." Bonnie added.
Beckett and Kimberly exchanged a glance, feeling a chill down their spines.
Even if Lola needed money urgently, she had over a hundred million dollars in her account. Even if that wasn't enough, she didn't need to sell so many things for cash.
What was she up to? Why did she suddenly need so much money?
Kimberly suddenly remembered something and said, "No wonder last month, I accidentally saw Maria organizing a lot of Lola's unworn clothes, shoes, and purses. When I asked her, she said Lola wanted to donate them to poor areas. I thought Lola was being kind-hearted..."
It turned out that she had Maria secretly sell them for cash, pocketing the money herself.
It was truly disgusting!
"What does she need so much money for?" Beckett asked Bonnie.
Bonnie replied nonchalantly, "I guess she thinks that with Abella back in the family, everything will be divided with Abella, and her share will get smaller. So, she's trying to liquidate as much as she can while she still has valuable items..."
She probably thought that the money in her hand was truly hers.
"Is this really the Lola we've raised for eighteen years, cherished and protected?" Kimberly looked at Beckett, showing a heartbroken smile.
They treated her like their own daughter, but Lola treated their generosity like they were fools!
"No wonder recently, she's been asking for rewards for good grades, progress in piano, and praise from her tutor. One moment she wants an island abroad, the next a villa. Turns out she's in a hurry to liquidate." Beckett was so disappointed he didn't know how to describe his feelings.
They really raised a "good daughter!"
When Lola walked into the living room with Lauren, she saw Bonnie sitting on the sofa, as cold and commanding as ever, exuding a strong, intellectual aura. Caleb looked at her like she was a stranger, his thoughts unreadable.
However, Kimberly seemed overwhelmed with sadness and anger, closing her eyes as if trying to hold back. After a while, she wiped away her tears.
Beckett was pressing his head with one hand, seemingly troubled and in pain.
"Uncle Caleb, Aunt Bonnie, you're here?" Lola put on her usual sweet and sensible smile. "I'm so happy to see you. Looks like this Easter will be livelier than ever."
Caleb didn't respond, and Bonnie took a sip of tea, completely ignoring Lola.
She remained cold and elegant, her powerful aura evident even when she didn't engage.
Lola didn't understand why they were ignoring her. She turned to Kimberly, forcing a smile and asked, "Mom, why are you crying? What happened? Dad, are you feeling unwell? Headache? Do you need me to massage it for you?"
Kimberly wiped her tears, trying to calm herself. After a moment, she stood up and walked towards Lola.
The girl standing before them was still the sweet, sensible one, with a pure smile, a sincere attitude, and innocent eyes.
If she hadn't seen the evidence and heard Bonnie's words, she wouldn't believe that Lola could be so shameless!
With a crisp sound, Kimberly slapped Lola hard, knocking her to the ground.
Lola lost her balance and fell, her mind blank, looking at Kimberly in confusion and panic.
Why did Kimberly hit her?
"Mom, what's wrong? Did I do something wrong?"
No matter how big her mistakes were before, Kimberly had never hit her.
What happened today?
"Look at what you've done..." Kimberly pointed angrily at the projection on the wall.
Bonnie had set it to auto-play, and Lola was shocked to see the projection.
It listed all her past actions, including fighting with Abella over clothes, spilling wine on Abella, drugging Abella, and even hiding the truth about the assassin's death.
The more Lola watched, the colder and more terrified she felt. Kimberly was confronting her because of these things.
Bonnie had compiled this evidence and presented it to Kimberly.
Why would Bonnie do this to her?
Of course, only Bonnie would do this because Bonnie cared for Abella and disliked her!
Lola looked at Bonnie in disbelief and resentment. Bonnie remained as charming as ever on the sofa.
"I told you, once I finished my work, I'd come for you." Bonnie's words made Lola feel cold all over, her mind blank.
What should she do? How could she explain?
Each of these actions was enough to make her parents furious.
They might even kick her out of the house.
If Maria were here, she'd know what to do.
But Maria was killed by Abella.
"With the evidence right here, how do you plan to lie your way out of this?" Kimberly's anger was uncontrollable, her teeth gritted. "Even now, you're thinking of excuses? How could the Medici family raise such an ungrateful person like you?"
Kimberly's deafening roar and curses left Lola stunned, tears stuck in her eyes.
Her mind was blank with fear, and she didn't know how to explain. She instinctively crawled over, panicking, "Mom, you misunderstood. It's not what it looks like..."
"You don't deserve to call me Mom, nor to be my daughter, you heartless bitch."
Lola had just crawled to her feet when Kimberly kicked her away.
"How dare you stay in my house, bully Abella, and live in this world? You're the most terrifying, vicious, disgusting person I've ever seen." Kimberly kicked her again.
