Chapter 1055 Entered the ICU

"That's awesome! I'll have someone send over a few dresses," Kimberly said, her excitement bubbling over.

"No need, I've got plenty in my closet. I'll pick one out myself tomorrow."

"Then ask Phillipe what color he's wearing. If your outfits match, you'll look even more perfect together."

Beckett, lounging in a nearby armchair and half-watching the news, looked up and grinned, "Your mom wants you to bring Phillipe to the party and show off your relationship."

"Do you have to be so blunt?" Kimberly pretended to scold Beckett, then muttered to herself, "But I'm not wrong. Phillipe is such a great guy, and there are so many women out there who are interested in him. If they see how well he treats Abella, the sensible ones will back off. For the others, I'll team up with Phillipe's mom and deal with them one by one."

Abella laughed, "Is Phillipe going?"

"He usually skips these parties and sends someone from the Bourbon family, like Armando, to handle it. But this year, since your engagement is public, the invitation includes his whole family. Whether he goes or not depends on you. If you go, he'll definitely go. So matching outfits would be perfect."

"Your mom means you should call Phillipe and see if he's going. If he is, you two can ride together, and your mom and I will take another car."

Abella got the hint and was about to message Phillipe when her phone lit up.

Phillipe had sent a message: [Abella, are you going to the party tomorrow night?]

Abella replied: [What about you?]

Phillipe: [I'll go if you go.]

Abella: [Then I'll get your suit ready.]

Phillipe: [Great, I'll pick you up tomorrow night. We'll change and go together.]

Abella sent a thumbs-up emoji.

At Muse Manor, Henry fed Lola dinner and then wheeled her to the garden for a walk.

"These hellebores are blooming beautifully," Lola admired the pink flowers.

Henry picked one and handed it to her. "If you like them, I'll have more planted. That way, every winter, you can enjoy this view from the window."

Lola smiled, but her expression suddenly changed.

Henry was puzzled, "Lola?"

Lola clutched her chest with her thick hand, a sharp pain tearing through her heart.

"Lola, what's wrong?" Henry noticed something was off and looked at her anxiously, "Is it your heart?"

Lola felt discomfort all over, not just her heart. It was as if her organs were being torn apart, causing her to double over in pain, trembling, and dropping the flower. She couldn't say a word.

"Lola?" Seeing her in such pain, Henry panicked, "Lola?"

He quickly wheeled her back to the main house and called for the doctor, placing Lola on the bed.

By now, Lola was curled up in agony, shaking even more.

"It hurts," Lola managed to say through gritted teeth, "Henry, it hurts so much."

"Don't worry, I'm here," Henry held her paw and looked up at the doctor, "What's going on? Why is she in so much pain?"

"Mr. Hall, her blood test results show abnormal values. We don't know the cause yet. I recommend a full-body checkup at the hospital."

Seeing Lola in tears from the pain, Henry immediately picked her up, "Get the car ready, we're going to the hospital."

On the way, Lola suddenly vomited blood, terrifying Henry, who ordered the driver to speed up.

When they arrived at NYU Medical Center, Henry carried her out of the car and rushed to the emergency room.

Lola had lost consciousness, and the emergency doctor immediately called other doctors and sent her to the ICU.

The ICU was equipped with various medical instruments to monitor her condition. Henry stepped outside, unable to understand what had happened.

He had just fed Lola and taken her for a walk. Why was she suddenly in such pain and vomiting blood?

Could it be the food?

Thinking this, he called to have every ingredient checked and ordered all the servants to stay put. He needed to find out if someone had poisoned Lola.

Sitting on the bench outside the ICU, he was reminded of the night he brought Lola back from Long Island Manor. Her condition was critical then too, and he had anxiously waited on a bench all night.

Now, he felt drained and tormented, suddenly aware of a displeased gaze on him.

He looked up and saw his father, Nolan, sitting not far away.

"Dad, what are you doing here?" Henry noticed Nolan sitting on a bench with Melanie and two bodyguards outside another ICU room.

His heart sank with a sense of foreboding.

Earlier, he had been so focused on Lola that he hadn't noticed his family in the hallway.

"What's going on?" Henry asked Nolan and Melanie, but they ignored him.

He turned to the bodyguards.

One of them said, "Mrs. Hall saw the news about your wedding announcement and had a heart attack. She's in the ICU."

Before Henry could react, Nolan stood up and slapped him hard.

Melanie stepped forward, crying and hitting Henry, "If Mom dies, I'll never forgive you! You heartless bastard, you've turned our home into chaos for a whore!"

Henry felt guilty seeing Melanie cry and let her hit him for a while before asking, "What did the doctors say?"

Melanie pushed him away, "Leave! Don't upset Mom anymore! She doesn't want to see you!"

"You don't deserve to be my son, get out!" Nolan was furious, "Don't let me see you again!"

Henry knew staying would only worsen his mother's condition if she heard his voice.

He lowered his head, "Let me know how Mom is doing."

Nolan and Melanie ignored him, one with a cold expression, the other still wiping tears.

Henry looked at the bodyguards, who nodded but didn't dare speak, fearing Nolan and Melanie's wrath.
